[klipper] [Bug 352171] clipboard history in systray cannot be really disabled, security problem

2016-07-10 Thread Martin Gräßlin via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=352171

--- Comment #20 from Martin Gräßlin  ---
My system tray still has a General section there and one can remove items
through it (just tested). This sounds like a problem with the update. Best
check with your distribution whether all packages were installed and old one
properly removed. The implementation of the systemtray got exchanged in 5.7.

[digikam] [Bug 365202] External MySQL database faces update segfault [patch]

2016-07-10 Thread Evert Vorster via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365202

--- Comment #54 from Evert Vorster  ---
Gilles,
 I found the contrib version of OpenCV, but the network link I am behind is
terribly slow, and I have been unable to download and compile it. I tried your
patch anyways, but digikam absolutely requires the contrib package of opencv.

Right now I am trying Maik's patch, as that allows me to compile against the
version of OpenCV that is included in standard Arch.

In a couple of weeks I will be home, with faster and more reliable internet,
and then I will try your patch again.

I have same issue, looks like kmix have infinity recursion on QWheelEvent:

#31 0x7f2b5d5128c8 in QWidget::event (this=0x282ac80, event=0x7ffe0ea17730)
at kernel/qwidget.cpp:8971

(receiver=0x282a0e0, event=0x7ffe0ea17b60) at kernel/qcoreapplication.cpp:1015
#35 0x7f2b5d5128c8 in QWidget::event (this=0x282ac80, event=0x7ffe0ea17b60)
at kernel/qwidget.cpp:8971

And this repeat until stack overflow (about 32K frames on my PC).

I have modify kmix-16.04.2/gui/viewdockareapopup.cpp:
void ViewDockAreaPopup::wheelEvent ( QWheelEvent * e )
{
  if ( _mdws.isEmpty() )
return;

   // Pass wheel event from "border widget" to child
//   QApplication::sendEvent( _mdws.first(), e); - recursion here
}

And now kmix work fine for me now.

As I understand - QApplication::sendEvent( _mdws.first(), e); must send event
to slider widget from the parent widget, but looks like slider not have a focus
so system transmit wheel event again to parent (self) as result we fail to
infinity recursion. Simple remove this code require user hover slider for use
wheel.

Updated Neon today, and got KDE Frameworks: 5.24.
The problem persists although it happen less often and only (as far as i
noticed) when you backspace and few characters are left in the search field, on
rare occasions it crashed when you backspace all characters.

Speed is "key" to trigger the bug, if you backspace fast it will not happen.

[konsole] [Bug 365339] New: Several seconds delay switching to certain tabs

2016-07-10 Thread Andreas Hartmetz via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365339

Bug ID: 365339
   Summary: Several seconds delay switching to certain tabs
   Product: konsole
   Version: master
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: konsole-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: ahartm...@gmail.com

I like to use infinite scrollback. Since recently, it takes several seconds to
switch to tabs with many thousands of lines of scrollback, such as from
compiling a large project with qmake. From the attached backtrace (and other
gdb info dump) it looks like konsole's filtering for highlighting etc. is what
is taking so long. I think it's probably scanning more than it has to, which
would be really just the current screen. And it probably handled it more
cleverly before.
Needless to say, the current behavior is quite annoying.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Get a few thousand lines of scrollback in a tab (compiling something with
qmake works well)
2. Make sure that the scrollback is still growing (konsole is smart enough not
to rescan completely constant contents)
3. Switch to another tab
4. Switch back to the tab with lots of lines

Actual Results:
konsole hangs for some time before the tab with the long scrollback is shown.

Expected Results:
konsole shows the tab with the long scrollback quasi-instantly, which it used
to do before.

I think this is major because it kind of kills the infinite scrollback feature
and even makes tab switching with "just" 1000 lines a bit slower.

Yes, having to retype this info is sad. A workaround is to bring up an app with
a Help >About {APP} menu item, e.g. Kate's  Help > About Kate > Version, in
which the text is often copyable.

FWIW, Firefox's about:support page (load that dummy URL in its location field)
has really nice [Copy raw data to clipboard] [Copy text to clipboard] buttons.
Probably overkill here.

Sorry to say, it happened again! I don't have the rights or can't see how to
reopen this bug.

Now I'm running plasma-discover{,-updater} (muondiscover{,updater}) 5.6.5 on
KDE Plasma 5.6.5, KDE Frameworks 5.23.0, Kernel 4.4.0-30-generic 64-bit.

I had several (26) updates, clicked the shield with red [x] badge soon after
booting, clicked the [Update] button in the popup menu, and clicked one of the
package names soon after the window displayed, and got the garbled display of
details on top of updates list (attachment coming). I couldn't activate any of
the buttons to clean up the display. When I tried to reproduce by running
plasma-discover from the command line, after clicking the Update tab and then a
package name I got perfect display with the expected animation sliding into the
package's details.

the left monitor in order to get the panel on the middle screen. Trying to add
a panel to the right monitor adds the panel to the left monitor again. Now my
work around no longer works, and to have the launcher on the left most screen
of 3 24" monitors is really not ideal in terms of the amount of distance my
mouse needs to move. Not to mention the fact that setting my primary display to
any other screen other than the 144Hz one does not seem logical as tearing on
videos is now more likely to happen. I am considering using another DE after
having to sit with the effects of the changes to plasma 5.7

[kdevelop] [Bug 358311] broken highlighting

2016-07-10 Thread Milian Wolff via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=358311

--- Comment #5 from Milian Wolff  ---
Alexander, you have seen this breaking in PHP files? Can you show a screenshot
please? If that is not - as I thought - a bug in kdev-clang then it would allow
us to search for the culprit in the libs somewhere... Such feedback would be
very welcome.

[klipper] [Bug 352171] clipboard history in systray cannot be really disabled, security problem

2016-07-10 Thread via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=352171

ma...@tritonit.cz changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||ma...@tritonit.cz

--- Comment #19 from ma...@tritonit.cz ---
This problem reappeared for me on plasma 5.7.0-2 (archlinux package).

'System Tray Settings' (accessed by right click on the arrow) no longer contain
Clipboard in 'General -> Extra Items' section. Instead it appears in 'Entries'
panel - and there is no option to disable it. Only available options are
'Visible, Hidden, Auto'.

Futhermore none of these states removes Clipboard from the System Tray dropdown
panel. Thus, on top of inability to disable it, we can no longer hide it as
well.

Install log from unsuccessful install to non-root volume.

On OSX 10.11.5, attempting to install to a non-root volume failed: "The
Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact
the software manufacturer for assistance."

Files were copied to /Volumes//opt/digikam.
/Applications/Digikam folder was created, but application shortcuts inside it
were not.

Install to system volume works great.

Errors appear to result from hard-coded paths in the install script. Install
log is attached.

[kwin] [Bug 365333] no redraws with OpenGL compositing backends on amdgpu driver

--- Comment #5 from Stefan Majewsky  ---
Addendum for point 1 in comment 4: Seeing that message again is especially
critical in my situation since I moved from Catalyst to amdgpu, so the message
did not apply to me when I saw it for the first time (when I set it to "Reuse
screen content" while using the Catalyst driver).

[kwin] [Bug 365333] no redraws with OpenGL compositing backends on amdgpu driver

2016-07-10 Thread Stefan Majewsky via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365333

--- Comment #4 from Stefan Majewsky  ---
Interesting. Then there may be two UI issues in there:

1. I did not see that message since it only appears when moving to that
setting, not when the KCM starts out in it.

2. The message says "'Re-use screen content' causes severe performance problems
on MESA drivers." It should be reworded to e.g. "severe performance and
rendering problems", so people know what they're getting into when choosing
that.

there's a BIG FAT WARNING to not use this setting (reuse) with mesa drivers
they used to enter a dead slow codepath when reading the frontbuffer and
apparently now (at least in the amdgpu case) completely refuse to work.

[krita] [Bug 365336] New: Instant Preview moves wrong layer with "move layer with content"

2016-07-10 Thread Eevee via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365336

Bug ID: 365336
   Summary: Instant Preview moves wrong layer with "move layer
with content"
   Product: krita
   Version: 3.0
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Instant Preview
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: eevee.kdeb...@veekun.com

Using the move tool in "move layer with content" mode with Instant Preview on
will sometimes appear to move the currently-selected layer, rather than the
layer being clicked on. The real image will change correctly, so the preview
and real image will get severely out of sync. Switching layers manually fixes
the preview.

This doesn't always happen, and I'm not sure what exactly triggers it, but it
reproduces fairly easily. Create a large image and make several layers with a
large brush stroke on each, then try to move them around. Clicking on
nearly-transparent areas seems more likely to choose the wrong layer.

Reproducible: Sometimes

[kwin] [Bug 365333] New: no redraws with OpenGL compositing backends on amdgpu driver

2016-07-10 Thread Stefan Majewsky via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365333

Bug ID: 365333
   Summary: no redraws with OpenGL compositing backends on amdgpu
driver
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.7.0
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: compositing
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: majew...@gmx.net

Last week, on my desktop PC, I switched from Catalyst to the new
xf86-video-amdgpu driver since the Catalyst driver suddenly started having
problems rendering some Steam games. After rebooting to switch to the new
kernel and X driver, I was greeted by a black screen.

Alt-Shift-F12 resolved the problem, and a few more attempts of Alt-Shift-F12
showed that the screen stopped redrawing whenever compositing was enabled. The
only exception is the mouse cursor which still moves appropriately, and changes
shape according to the surface beneath it.

I checked different settings in the kwincompositing KCM and found that the bug
only appears under the following settings:

* Rendering backend: OpenGL 2.0 or 3.1 (XRender works fine)
* OpenGL interface: GLX (EGL works fine)
* Tearing prevention: Reuse screen content ("Full screen repaints" and "Only
when cheap" appear to work fine in a short test)

The bug is really only hit when all three settings are set to the problematic
values. I first saw the problem in kwin 5.6 (after I installed the amdgpu
driver), and waited until this week to see if 5.7 would help, but the problem
is still reproducible.

Reproducible: Always

[kde] [Bug 365332] New: Control panel sometimes ignores visibility setting "always visible"

2016-07-10 Thread via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365332

Bug ID: 365332
   Summary: Control panel sometimes ignores visibility setting
"always visible"
   Product: kde
   Version: 4.14.1
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: y...@riseup.net

I have a second control panel at the upper side of the screen. Sometimes after
boot, the title bar of applications is hidden behind that control panel,
although in the panel's settings I set it be always visible.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot
2. Start an application

Actual Results:
Title bar of the application(s) is hidden behind top control panel.

Expected Results:
Title bars show below top control panel as it's set to be always visible.

A workaround is to change the visibility settings of the control panel to
something different and then back to "always visible".

Fix repaint loop

After some investigation, I found the line responsible for the endless repaint
loop of QToolButtons in KToolBar (line 1359).

It looks like this line is changing the text of the button inside the paint
event, thus creating an endless repaint loop with the side effects described in
my original report. This code seems to be quite old, but it definitely creates
a repaint loop!

My patch is just a workaround disabling the problematic line, someone with a
better understanding of the code should have a closer look...

[digikam] [Bug 365331] New: digikam not loading because rpath information missing from libQt5Qml, libQt5Script and libQt5Quick

2016-07-10 Thread RJVB via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365331

Bug ID: 365331
   Summary: digikam not loading because rpath information missing
from libQt5Qml, libQt5Script and libQt5Quick
   Product: digikam
   Version: 5.0.0
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: grave
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: digikam-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: rjvber...@gmail.com

I install Qt5, KF5 Frameworks, libraries and applications into /opt/local under
Linux, with /opt/local/lib and equivalent not declared to the dynamic loader
via ldconfig. I thus need to rely on exhaustive rpath information or else the
correct shared libraries are not found.

I have a build script which takes care of setting all the appropriate CMake
commandline argument required for this kind of build, which works fine for
almost all KF5 software.

Not so with digikam5. Most Qt5 libraries are found without issue, except for 3
libraries:

```
ldd /opt/local/bin/digikam | fgrep libQt
libQt5Sql.so.5 => /opt/local/libexec/qt5/lib/libQt5Sql.so.5
I have a hunch that this may be because these Qt components are not declared
and linked as direct dependencies but even if that's the case no other
application has yet shown this behaviour where only a few libraries are linked
without rpath information. For example, KDevelop also links to the same 3
libraries, and also through indirect dependencies (= neither of the 3 is linked
explicitly with the executable). Its toplevel CMake file does "Quick" and
"Script" in the Qt find_package statement though.
I'm invoking cmake like this:
```
cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/opt/local -DCMAKE_VERBOSE_MAKEFILE=ON
-DCMAKE_COLOR_MAKEFILE=ON -DCMAKE_BUILD_WITH_INSTALL_RPATH=ON
-DCMAKE_INSTALL_NAME_DIR=/opt/local/lib
-DCMAKE_SYSTEM_PREFIX_PATH="/opt/local;/usr"
-DCMAKE_MODULE_PATH=/opt/local/share/cmake/Modules -DCMAKE_FIND_FRAMEWORK=LAST
-DCMAKE_EXPORT_COMPILE_COMMANDS=ON -Wno-dev
-DECM_MKSPECS_INSTALL_DIR=/opt/local/share/qt5/mkspecs
-DPLUGIN_INSTALL_DIR=/opt/local/share/qt5/plugins
-DKDE_INSTALL_QTPLUGINDIR=/opt/local/share/qt5/plugins
-DQML_INSTALL_DIR=/opt/local/share/qt5/qml -DBUILD_doc=OFF -DBUILD_docs=OFF
-DBUILD_SHARED_LIBS=ON -DCMAKE_STRIP:FILEPATH=/bin/echo
-DCMAKE_PREFIX_PATH=/opt/local
-DCMAKE_INSTALL_RPATH="/opt/local/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu;/opt/local/lib"
-DSYSCONF_INSTALL_DIR=\"/opt/local/etc\"
-DPYTHON_EXECUTABLE=/opt/local/bin/python2.7 -DENABLE_KFILEMETADATASUPPORT=ON
-DENABLE_OPENCV3=ON -DBUILD_TESTING=OFF -DDIGIKAMSC_COMPILE_DOC=off

Had the same issue here, none of the workarounds helped. I also tried to apply
the patch from comment 64 to 5.6.5, to no avail.

Now I upgraded to 5.7.0 and the problem is fixed. Thanks!

patch to use face module from opencv_contrib instead from digiKam core

Evert,

New patch to drop face module in digiKam core and use last one from
opencv_contrib.
Opencv3 need to be compiled with OpenCV_Contrib module of course...

Maik,

I have a big doubt on the right way to implement this new pure virtual method
:

void predict(InputArray src, Ptr collector) const = 0;

... defined in face.hpp and to code in facerec_borrowed.cpp

Bug ID: 365328
   Summary: Hidden folders should be shown on the left panel, when
right panel is in hidden folder, even when disabled
   Product: dolphin
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: panels: folders
  Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: cyberb...@gmx.de

I use dolphin Version 16.04.2.

What I do:
I enter some path in the right panel (detailed view, without collapsable
trees), for example
/home/myhome/.kde/

Then the path is not shown on the left folder-view panel, so it is difficult
(not user friendly) to navigate in the hidden folder-tree. I know I could
enable show hidden folders on the left panel, but this is not what I want in
general. This is a special case, where it should show the currently opened
hidden folders nontheless.

Cool, many thanks for investigating this! Your fix looks sensible to me (if the
glyph height is zero there is nothing to do), but I'm not really qualified to
review it. Did you submit it to the Qt code review system? In the bug tracker
it will probably get lost ... people don't review patches there.

The list of files from OpenCV

I am on Arch linux, we don't have contrib. The closest thing is self compile
from git. :)
I have attached the file list of the OpenCV I have installed on my system. It's
version 3.1.0, and looks like it includes face detection.

What is weird about this bug is that it does do quite a few face detections
before it fails, but not always at the same point.

Michael, should kbuildsycoca5 update ~/.cache/icon-cache.kcache? It actually
doesn't, but I don't know if it's a bug. Something is Plasma 5 creates broken
icon-cache.kcache file after icons theme change from System Settings. Usually I
need to switch to new theme twice to make it fully applied. Otherwise I get
mixed icons (some from current theme, some from previous).
