Excellent information, Dominik--confirmed! Seems quite dependent on hitting the
right combination of font and size. Here's the result of some testing on my
Kubuntu 17.10 machine:

 9pt Noto Sans: clipped
10pt Noto Sans: fine
11pt Noto Sans: fine
12pt Noto Sans: clipped
13pt Noto Sans: fine
14pt Noto Sans: clipped
15pt Noto Sans: fine

 9pt Ubuntu: clipped
10pt Ubuntu: fine
11pt Ubuntu: clipped
12pt Ubuntu: clipped
13pt Ubuntu: fine
14pt Ubuntu: fine
15pt Ubuntu: clipped

Haven't figured out the the pattern yet...

Any ebuild in Gentoo version tends to be from source repositories, not a

Created attachment 112063

Dolphin shown using Nautilus's icon

Kubuntu uses vanilla upstream AppData and .desktop files for Dolphin that
specify its icon as `system-file-manager`:
https://cgit.kde.org/dolphin.git/tree/src/org.kde.dolphin.desktop#n46

In all recent versions of Kubuntu (16.04 through 18.04), this somehow results
in Dolphin displaying Nautilus's icon in Discover rather than its own; see
attached screenshot depicting how it looks in Discover 5.12.4. I've spoken to
the Kubuntu folks and they confirm that their Dolphin packaging is 100% vanilla
for AppData and the .desktop file. It's not at all clear that they're doing
anything wrong.

Could this be because the icon is named `system-file-manager` and maybe that
conflicts with the same name used for Nautilus?

[krita] [Bug 392295] Feature Request: Pop-up Palette - Canvas - Fit to Page

2018-04-16 Thread Emmet O'Neill
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=392295

--- Comment #3 from Emmet O'Neill  ---
Created attachment 112062
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=112062=edit
Pop-up palette multi-click 'quick zoom' idea.

I totally agree with that, Scott. It'd be best to have a comprehensive vision
for the pop-up palette based on all of the user feedback.

Having said that, I have done a little bit of personal brainstorming on this
particular idea among others. For example, I've been sitting on a patch with a
small change that doesn't add or remove any buttons, menus, or other widgets.
Instead, I've been messing with what's already there by allowing the user to
use different clicks on the "quick zoom" button for different, common zoom
levels. (For example, left click for 100%, right click for fit to page, shift
left click for 200%, etc.) This is a pretty subtle and unobtrusive change to
the UI that just adds a touch more flexibility to what's already there. I'll
attach the work-in-progress patch here so you and others can check it out.

But again, I agree with your general sentiment here: it's better to gather a
bunch of data and come up with a bigger, broader strategy for the pop-up
palette than it is to just tackle one mini-feature at a time. I've developed
some more opinions on that over the last few days of testing different things
out - mainly that simplicity and optimizing space is key, in my opinion. Hence
the focus on using other clicks and modifiers to extend what's already there.

I removed the deletion and modified the rotaionMatrix function by making it
shorter and adding a translation after the rotatin. I tried different rotations

convoluted.

   Summary: Form data saved by Okular isn't readable by Adobe
Acrobat
   Product: okular
   Version: 1.3.3
  Platform: Other
OS: FreeBSD
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: okular-de...@kde.org

Okular-1.3.3 stores form data in pdf files and can see such data itself, but
when Adobe Acrobat opens such file it only sees a blank document.

Found on FreeBSD 11.1, okular is built from the port.

[digikam] [Bug 393205] New: Advanced rename very slow

2018-04-16 Thread Flaviu Tamas
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393205

Bug ID: 393205
   Summary: Advanced rename very slow
   Product: digikam
   Version: 5.9.0
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: AdvancedRename
  Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: tamasfla...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

I have a large collection (13000) of files that I'm trying to rename. However,
it takes about 5 seconds per image to rename each file. This is unreasonable,
since I am running this job on an SSD with a reasonably fast processor. iotop
shows digikam at 0% IO, and digikam is using 2/4 of my cores almost completely.

When I run this rename under digikam, I get a whole bunch of the following for
each file renamed:

statx(AT_FDCWD, "/home/user/tmp/recoveredpics/2010-02-04T17:05:44.JPG",
AT_STATX_SYNC_AS_STAT, STATX_ALL, {stx_mask=STATX_ALL, stx_attributes=0,
stx_mode=S_IFREG|0777, stx_size=2186973, ...}) = 0
stat("/etc/localtime", {st_mode=S_IFREG|0644, st_size=3545, ...}) = 0
stat("/etc/localtime", {st_mode=S_IFREG|0644, st_size=3545, ...}) = 0
stat("/etc/localtime", {st_mode=S_IFREG|0644, st_size=3545, ...}) = 0

The rename "preview" is also slow, but it's acceptable, and I don't think
there's room for (or point to) improvement there.

Presently, the Investment Tab allows the selection and viewing of Symbol,

[krita] [Bug 391666] Python timeline/animation API

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=391666

Scott Petrovic  changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||scottpetro...@gmail.com

--- Comment #3 from Scott Petrovic  ---
I played around a bit with Python and animation and this is kind of where it
stands with doing animation related things

You can access to see if a node (layer) has animation turned on.
You can enable animation for the layer. Animation is off by default for a
layer.

You can then use actions to do some animation functions

python stuff I did in the internal scripter...

import sys
from krita import *

for doc in Krita.instance().documents():
print( doc.activeNode().animated())
doc.activeNode().enableAnimation()

# grab and call an existing action
Krita.instance().action("next_frame").trigger()

...end python code

I think just about all the animation actions right now are in the krita.action
file. There should be an "action" folder in your installation where you can see
them all. They are just big XML files.

I don't see any actions with "go to frame #". There are a lot of actions with
play/stop, previous/next frame, and inserting/deleting frames.
