I will probably reconsider for this, the following screenshot can be achieved
now, the bottom dock is painted in reverse colors from running plasma theme

[Breeze] [Bug 379637] breeze-gtk should draw shadows for client-side-decorated windows

2019-02-06 Thread Martin Flöser
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379637

Our code base is neither fragile nor is this a bug. Gtk requires a new not
standardized functionality which is not in line with ICCCM and EWMH. We have a
window manager implemented against the standard. Claiming not supporting this
feature is a bug or claiming that our code base is too fragile to support it is
an insult against the code base and it's developers (I did not contribute to
this old part of KWin). And this is something I find really demotivating.

Created attachment 117908

Video

(Tested with 4.2.0-pre-alpha (git 86c58a3) - Ubuntu 14.04 - RAM 8GB - GeForce
9800 GT/PCIe/SSE2)

I think it's because the "Move Tool (T)" moves the whole layer not just a part
of it as the Transform Tool does. (See video)

1. fresh configs
2. start Krita
3. create a new document: 1920 x 1080 px / 72 ppi / 8-bit
4. paint some strokes
5. use the Move Tool (T) to move the layer

Actual Results: refreshing of the canvas doesn't catch up when moving the layer
with the "Move Tool".
Expected: no lags when moving a layer?

Note: with more complex layer set-ups it gets worse.

2019-02-06 Thread Michael D
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403994

I simply can't believe that this is the expected behavior. When you're using
dolphin, for example, the places pane is "desaturated" if you select a file,
but obviously you want it fully saturated for better contrast. Likewise when
working in an text editor or IDE that has a navigation pane or the like.

Gnome has a similar effect but it only desaturates inactive windows, not
inactive parts of active windows, which seems to me to make far more sense.

Addendum to last post:
Entering a next transaction by clicking on the Enter icon on the transaction in
the Payments section of the Home screen works.
Right clicking on a transaction in the Scheduled Transactions screen crashes.

Duplicating a transaction in Scheduled Transactions works, then clicking on
each icon while still in Scheduled Transactions works.
After duplicating a transaction and going back to Home screen, clicking on any
Enter transaction icon in Payments section crashes.

If the bug is still present, KWin *should* crash. If KWin doesn't crash, then

[kdenlive] [Bug 404046] New: getTracksInfo() tries to read past end of tracks list

2019-02-06 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404046

Bug ID: 404046
Summary: getTracksInfo() tries to read past end of tracks list
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: 18.12.1
  Platform: Appimage
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: User Interface
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: mazin07+...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 117905
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=117905=edit
kdenlive project file that causes kdenlive to crash

SUMMARY

When opening a certain .kdenlive project file, kdenlive crashes in
getTracksInfo() when it tries to get a track for an index that doesn't exist.
Seems to be a mismatch between tracksCount() and the actual number of elements
in m_tracks.

The project file was created by kdenlive 17.12.3 but crash exhibits on 17.12.3
and 18.*. Could be bugginess in kdenlive internal data model that produces bad
project file.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open attached kdenlive project file.
2. Observe SIGSEGV in Mlt::Properties::get()

OBSERVED RESULT

Backtrace sample:

#0  0x76dcfef0 in Mlt::Properties::get(char const*) () at
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libmlt++.so.3
#1  0x55744dda in Track::info() (this=0x0) at

#4  0x559bfec2 in MainWindow::connectDocument() (this=0x55ec0d40)
at ./src/mainwindow.cpp:1951

EXPECTED RESULT

The file should load properly or, if it is corrupted, an error should be
printed saying what went wrong and the application should exit gracefully.

Ah, that is why PDFs are deployed with such excessive whitespace in the TOC.
Then Okular should probably not silently remove the whitespace, but place some
ugly but short whitespace-stripped-characters.

The tooltip would explain this character, because it would show the original
string.

Recent libappimage releasee tried to be more cmake-using consumer friendly by
improving the imported target in the provided cmake config files, sadly though
regressed with the old variables.

Fix is on their way though, so hopefully a new version will fix this soon:
https://github.com/AppImage/libappimage/pull/55

On our side there is
https://phabricator.kde.org/D18611
though that one sadly uncovered another issue, one fix proposal currently
discussed as

Myself no time reserved until upcoming WE.

Or alternatively we could just hardcode a 24px size, which bypasses these
problems entirely, which is what the equivalent tooltip in KInfoCenter does.

SUMMARY
Feature request: silence notifications from mobile phone for fixed time

It would be useful to have this function available on right click, e.g.
silencing for 30 minutes or so... (or configurable time in settings)

Use case: Having Pidgin receiving messages, but also phone nearby computer,
therefore displaying notifications about messages are duplicated - first by
pidgin, then by KDEConnect. I could silence these notifications for fixed time
and not be bothered.

The amount of information that you provided is too small. Please provide a
complete list of steps how to reproduce the problem (what *exactly* a person
needs to do to encounter the same problem as you; explain every button you need
to click etc.).

Also keep in mind that if you want to change the font type, color or size of
the text, you need to first select the text, change the option you want to
change, then click "Save" at the bottom of the text editor dialog. It won't
work otherwise. If it solves your issue, please change the status of this bug
from "NEEDSINFO" to "FIXED -> NOT A BUG".

[neon] [Bug 404033] Upgrade to Exiv2 0.27.0 to stop Gwenview crashing on certain jpeg files

I hope it does not simply have 0.26.0 without any patches applied? Since its
release more than a year ago a huge load of security bugs have been fixed, and
backported to 0.26 branch upstream. In Gentoo we've been packaging snapshots
from this branch all this time. Getting 0.27.0 is the best solution but most
reverse-deps require patching or most recent versions (digikam-6.0.0_rc3 for
one, not easily backportable). Here's our stabilisation tracker for reference,
though it is still missing a few packages as mentioned in top comment.

I'm still getting a 1px resize handle around my window on peek.

I will admit it's not an easy target, but can we confirm if we have the same
behaviour

Bug 390550 is definitely a lot more serious but it's not necessarily solved by
the same thing.

You can have a larger CSD resize area without relying on frame extents to
signify your window content. I would expect that to be do-able within the
current frameworks of both sides.

Kwin also does have (though apparently contentious) a concept of the "resize
only border" extents outside the active frame.

The wiki page in question has the following warning:

"The "libkf5.*-dev" wildcard may also sometimes fail in situations where you
are using mixed repositories, where some packages have been renamed and
break/replace/conflict with versions that apt can still find in the other older
base repository. For example, using development packages from the Kubunu
backports PPA on top of the main ubuntu archive. In these cases you should
determine the development packages you require, and install the latest versions
only."

So apparently this is somewhat expected. I have updated the wiki page to have
more reliable instructions. Thanks for reporting this!

2019-02-06 Thread Nate Graham
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379637

I can appreciate the technical problems associated with fixing this bug.

But this issue is significant from a user perspective. An even worse one is Bug
390550, which results in an impairment to function, not just aesthetics (you
can't resize CSD windows at all). Taken together the experience of using GTK3
apps with CSD windows is just really painful and bad, and represents a
strategic weakness for our platform.

If the codebase is so fragile that it leaves us unable to fix bugs, that's a
major problem. Function doesn't matter if the form turns people off so they
don't want to use it. In the commercial world, projects get canceled because
their UX is bad even when the tech and code are good, because users buy
competing offerings instead. In the FOSS world, the effect is not as dramatic,
but what happens is that people vote with their feet and just stop using it
over time. We can't afford to say, "this is too risky to fix, sorry." CSDs are
proliferating in the GTK world and we can't ignore that and let a larger and
larger share of Linux software look and feel bad on our platform.

I managed to build qt5-wayland package with your patch and it seems to work, it
does fix this issue.

To resolve this condition in kde neon, the packages sound-theme-freedesktop and
libcanberra-pulse if not a dependency of plasma-pa has to be made a dependency
for it.
