https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=469829 orionbe...@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added CC||orionbe...@gmail.com --- Comment #8 from orionbe...@gmail.com --- Thanks for the response. Can you recommend a way to get rid of these superfluous embedded fonts from PDF files that were already affected by this bug? I made dozens of time-consuming annotations to a PDF file, saving it dozens of times in between, before i realized (because okular became very unresponsive!) that the file size had grown from 6.4 MB to... 220 MB (!). It would be very time-consuming to redo all annotations with the fixed poppler version... but it is also be very unpleasant having to deal with such a huge file! [frameworks-kconfig] [Bug 471533] New: KDesktopFile should be parsing Exec= line differently
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=471533 Bug ID: 471533 Summary: KDesktopFile should be parsing Exec= line differently Classification: Frameworks and Libraries Product: frameworks-kconfig Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: matt...@mjdsystems.ca Reporter: m...@ratijas.tk CC: kdelibs-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY After recent update[1] of scrcpy, I get these warnings when e.g. launching systemsettings: > kf.config.core: "KConfigIni: In file > /usr/share/applications/scrcpy-console.desktop, line 8: " "Invalid escape > sequence \"\\\"\"." > kf.config.core: "KConfigIni: In file /usr/share/applications/scrcpy.desktop, > line 8: " "Invalid escape sequence \"\\\"\"." Or with a patch[2] that improves readability: > kf.config.core: KConfigIni: In file /usr/share/applications/scrcpy.desktop, > line 8: Invalid escape sequence: «\"» scrcpy.desktop has the following Exec line: > Exec=/bin/sh -c "\"\\$SHELL\" -i -c scrcpy" It seems that escape sequences are fine, and it's our parser that is broken. According to the documentation at FDO [3], Exec= line has some special rules about escape sequences. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Parse a file that contains the line above with KConfig, KDesktopFile or KService. OBSERVED RESULT Warnings, poorly escaped resulting string. EXPECTED RESULT Adherence to standards, no warnings. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Frameworks Version: 5.240.0 (kf6/master) Qt Version: 6.5.1 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION [1]: https://github.com/Genymobile/scrcpy/commit/d2b7315ba693e11bd9b9a0421a75b7df8a31c5cc [2]: https://invent.kde.org/frameworks/kconfig/-/merge_requests/203 [3]: https://specifications.freedesktop.org/desktop-entry-spec/desktop-entry-spec-latest.html#exec-variables In kservice.cpp, the `init()` method fetches "Exec" entry using regular `desktopGroup.readEntry("Exec", QString());` call, without any specialized processing. It seems wrong. KDesktopFile has many `read$Thing` methods, but Exec is not one of them. Looking at the added complexity of special escaping rules, it probably should have that as well. And before you ask, no — KIO::DesktopExecParser is NOT a solution. It takes an instance of KService in constructor, which is already messed up by that time. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasma-systemmonitor] [Bug 470474] new nvidia beta driver (535 series) not showing statistics
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=470474 --- Comment #14 from k...@imkx.dev --- > I'm not really familiar with the process here so I apologize for asking the > obvious. Am I understanding correctly that now we're just waiting for it to > be merged, so (a future) update will fix it? No worries, you're not doing wrong for asking. You're pretty much right. You can imagine it as if there is the releases or versions, (5.27.1, 5.27.2.. etc.) and those are a combined effort to fix bugs, add features or clean up the code and so on. What goes into these versions is dependent on what's relevant at that time, it's just a continuous development process in which a lot of people and the community in general are involved. A fix for this bug has been developed and proposed as an addition to the next possible version. When that will be, I actually don't know myself. Someone has to approve the request first to make sure it's nothing malicious, has proper code style, quality and so on. One thing you could do, if you want to use the fix earlier than officially released, is build it yourself (from the branch the merge request, that I linked, resides on) after making sure it's nothing malicious. That's why open source is so helpful. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=470903 bugs.7n...@aleeas.com changed: What|Removed |Added Resolution|--- |FIXED Status|REPORTED|RESOLVED --- Comment #2 from bugs.7n...@aleeas.com --- Git commit 6145804afb235eecb6a7ccf36c602c23c6038289 by Tony Wasserka. Committed on 27/06/2023 at 09:05. Pushed by ahiemstra into branch 'master'. Fix indicated sort order for numeric columns Previously, the ordering function was purposely inverted to ensure a certain initial sort order for numeric columns. However, this causes the wrong sort indicator icon to be displayed. The desired initial ordering can instead be adjusted by exposing Qt::InitialSortOrderRole in the ProcessModel.
