This is "Active screen follows mouse" setting was off. But the presence of

After making some reconfiguration like display rotation or multiple display

after reboot you only see xserver wallpaper (rotated properly). Quickly fixed
by these commands from console:

export DISPLAY=:0.0
kstart plasma-desktop

2018-05-26 Thread Aleksey Kontsevich
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=394698

Bug ID: 394698
Summary: Return international settings like in KDE4
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: 5.12.5
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: akontsev...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Currently can't setup custom date or number format I wish to - only predefined
related to some locale which is not suitable at all. For Russian local can't
copy-paste number to calculator from other sources - prints NaN. English - with
comma separated between ranks - not convenient - want to change to space.

This change after KDE4 is strange and inconvenient.

What is mga6? I have latest KDE env in openSUSE Tumbleweed. Confirm, some
notifications works stable. For me it freezes for Software Applet (in system
tray) notification only for now.

Do not see any difference. As I removed files, killed X and reboot, so nothing
was written there.

Ups... no! After some time just another notification forced plasma to freeze
and load one CPU core to 100%.

[ksmserver] [Bug 394317] New: Applications crash on reboot

Status: UNCONFIRMED

After recent updates applications start to crash on reboot:
- ksmserver
- dolphin
- goldendict
- etc
After pressing "Close" button in crash dialogs, KDE exits to sddm, not reboots.
Also this process seems closes Firefox incorrectly and I see session restore in
it on every start now which is not good.

KDE become "better" and "better"...

Good question for me also. I do not like to erase my home dir as it lives with
me for ages. :) For a long time ago I also suspected KDE developers do not
observe many bugs users have because they test new KDE's in fresh clean
environment regardless old versions or settings. Also no mechanisms provided to
upgrade/adjust or clean-up settings on KDE upgrades.

Yes. And no messages in dmesg. As I said all mounted correctly and accessible
in bash or mc. All windows disks are mounted at
/windows
+/c
+/d
+/e
with rw rights for root and users group. Browsing /windows in Dolphin shows
empty directory which is wrong. Accessing these disks via devices panel or
entering windows disk path directly (i.e. /windows/e) goes normal.

Most inconvenience appears in KDE directory selection/open dialog (for ex. in
ktorrent) where I can't browse windows (ntfs) disks at all.

Hi Volker,

I think feedbackconfiguicontroller.cpp could be improved a little. We can
change line 129 to:

const auto name = (d->appName().isEmpty()) ? "this application" :
d->appName().isEmpty();

and remove 1st switch to make code simpler and keep messages consistency.
Thanks!

Up/Down/Left/Right arrows keys stopped to work in konsole when running Midnight
Commander in it. Totally unusable. Arrows work fine in bash script without mc.
Not a Midnight Commander issue as it was not changed/upgraded and it works fine
in Mate terminal and xterm. Clearing konsole settings, session and cache had
not helped. What the problem could be?

Please discuss this with SDDM developers directly here:
https://github.com/sddm/sddm/issues/914#issuecomment-359153535 - they said it
is a plasmashell problem:

>This doesn't happen with Liri for example, there the session manager launches
>autostart programs (including /etc/xdg/autostart/pulseaudio.desktop) and
>SIGTERM and SIGKILL if needed are sent to the process upon logout.

>@davidedmundson Plasma should just keep track of the processes it starts and
>kills them on logout. Is it possible?

latest KDE when downloading file in FF or Chromium. I get .bin extension for
all files instead of jpg, mp3, pdf, etc.

Nate Graham, too much applications and too much dependent frameworks like mono,
electron, etc. Think it is DE stuff. Strange to me you ignoring tons (even
legacy) of applications, like I'm talking not to open source people but to
microsoft. Even MS people pay much attentions talking to people and improving
their code recent years.
