[kwin] [Bug 390306] New: kwin_wayland terminates when closing laptop lid
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=390306 Bug ID: 390306 Summary: kwin_wayland terminates when closing laptop lid Product: kwin Version: 5.12.0 Platform: openSUSE RPMs OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: platform-drm Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: fab...@ritter-vogt.de Target Milestone: --- The plasma wayland session works just fine if I start it while the lid is open. Both external screens and the internal screen display the expected picture. When I close the lid, the entire session terminates. This does not happen with just kwin_wayland --xwayland --drm --libinput --exit-with-session="konsole" so it is probably related to kscreen (?) I get a crash on exit as ~DrmBackend during dl_fini calls processEvents (so Qt aborts), but that seems unrelated. powerdevil: Lid action was suppressed because an external monitor is present kf5idletime_kwayland: This plugin does not support polling idle time Service ":1.3" unregistered kwin_wayland: Couldn't find current GLX or EGL context. For me, the option is not set at all either when when I print > using Okular on Fedora 26. > > Is there any file $HOME/.cups/lpoptions or /etc/cups/lpoptions present on > host A? > Or do you have any other ideas where this option might come frome? I have no clue where the option orientation-requested=0 comes from. The file $HOME/.cups/lpoptions on host A contains only the default printer like "Default HPM880". The file /etc/cups/lpoptions on host A is empty and on host B as well. Just one very interesting thing. I have installed the printer on host B and named it "HPM880Test". I am able to print on host A from Okular. The output is OK. Now it is getting weird. When I uninstall the printer "HPM880" and reinstall again on host B and name it again "HPM880" the output is again A5. I think it has something to do with the name. [kwin] [Bug 390110] Weird behavior when utilizing acentuation
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=390110 --- Comment #13 from Mahendra Tallur --- Regarding my ^ key issue : 1) hitting "^" triggers krunner. It stops triggering krunner when I disable the ALT-F2 shortcut from the control panel 2) the ^ key still doesn't work as expected though. I have to hit it TWICE instead of ONCE to get the accentuated characters. For instance if I type "^" then "e" I get "e" If I type "^" then "^" then "e" I get "ê" IN THE KWIN DEBUG CONSOLE I noticed the following : 1) if I hit "^" once, it reports the scancode 26 and xkb "" for the first "^". For the second "^" it reports scancode 26 and xkb 94. 2) if I hit "^" once then "e", it reports scancode 26 xkb "" then scancode 18 xkb 234 utf-8 "ê" EVEN IF the character actually displayed is "e" and not "ê" if I hit ^ only once. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=390110 --- Comment #14 from Mahendra Tallur --- Addentum : as for the characters being actually inserted, it also depends on the toolkit being used. In Thunderbird / Firefox, hitting the ^ modifier twice makes it work (i.e. 2x"^" + "e" = "ê"). [valgrind] [Bug 390310] New: Output summaries in XML files
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=390310 Bug ID: 390310 Summary: Output summaries in XML files Product: valgrind Version: unspecified Platform: Compiled Sources OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: jsew...@acm.org Reporter: renau...@free.fr Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 110555 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=110555&action=edit Patch file The XML output of valgrind does not contain the different summaries from the text format (namely the heap, leak and error summaries). In consequence, the creation of a digest of the results (for example for an external GUI) is more difficult. This question has apparently already been asked without answers (cf. e.g https://stackoverflow.com/questions/40902804/leak-summary-is-missing-from-valgrind-log-file) and the persons I asked actually parse the text output to create their digests. I haven't found a similar question in the bugtracker. I propose a patch (to apply to the master git branch) that adds these summaries into the XML output. As a result of the patch, it is possible to output to XML and simply test (for example) whether all heap blocks have been freed : valgrind --xml=yes --xml-file=res.xml some_executable_to_test xmllint --xpath "string(/valgrindoutput/all_heap_blocks_freed/@val)" res.xml # -> outputs "true" of "false" This patch impacts a minor part of valgrind (namely just the output). I tried to follow the coding standards from the source. I am willing to discuss the form of the output if necessary. For example, at the moment, I store the results inside attributes instead of the nodes themselves, and this can be changed. I tried to run the regression and performance tests, but they fail on my machine with or without the patch. Example of output in XML format : -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[elisa] [Bug 389826] Elisa looks bad with non-96 DPI
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=389826 --- Comment #6 from Mykola Krachkovsky --- Yes, ok I'll do it. But before I need to make patch correct. As I've found Screen.pixelDensity is physical DPI (or DPmm). But when logical DPI != physical DPI that's bad. And more, it's changed when screen is changed. And I can't find logical DPI in QML Screen object. So I'm not sure what's best option, to export logical dpi to QML: root context setContextProperty or call qmlRegisterType for wrapper around primary screen. Or maybe there is a simpler way to export function into QML. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

I will describe the scheme in short for details see the attached backtrace: step1: Kwin calls KWin::CursorImage::loadThemeCursor step2: Which then calls KWin::WaylandCursorTheme::get which call KWin::WaylandCursorTheme::loadTheme step3: KWin::WaylandCursorTheme::loadTheme emits the event themeChanged() (wayland_cursor_theme.cpp, line:70) step4: This is handled by the lambda expession at pointer_input.cpp line 908, which calls KWin::CursorImage::loadThemeCursor in line 911 which starts the whole thing again (=> goto step1) This cycle breaks in the moment when malloc fails to allocate and kwin crashes with a segmentation fault: Program terminated with signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. #0 0x7f35190c0919 in malloc () from /lib64/libc.so.6 #0 0x7f35190c0919 in malloc () from /lib64/libc.so.6 No symbol table info available. #1 0x7f351948d718 in operator new(unsigned long) () from /usr/lib64/libstdc++.so.6 No symbol table info available. #2 0x7f3519c63f0d in QObjectPrivate::connectImpl(QObject const*, int, QObject const*, void**, QtPrivate::QSlotObjectBase*, Qt::ConnectionType, int const*, QMetaObject const*) () from /usr/lib64/libQt5Core.so.5 No symbol table info available. #3 0x7f3519c64295 in QObject::connectImpl(QObject const*, void**, QObject const*, void**, QtPrivate::QSlotObjectBase*, Qt::ConnectionType, int const*, QMetaObject const*) () from /usr/lib64/libQt5Core.so.5 No symbol table info available. #4 0x7f351bfcbded in QObject::connect (type=Qt::AutoConnection, slot=(void (KWin::WaylandCursorTheme::*)(KWin::WaylandCursorTheme * const)) 0x7f351bfcbc70 , receiver=0x563d373dfee0, signal=(void (KWin::Cursor::*)(KWin::Cursor * const)) 0x7f351c015600 , sender=0x563d36a12350) at /usr/include/qt5/QtCore/qobject.h:259 types = 0x0 #5 KWin::WaylandCursorTheme::loadTheme (this=0x563d373dfee0) at /usr/src/debug/kwin5-5.12.0-1.1.x86_64/wayland_cursor_theme.cpp:55 size = this = 0x563d373dfee0 #6 0x7f351bfcc0d0 in KWin::WaylandCursorTheme::get (this=this@entry=0x563d373dfee0, name=...) at /usr/src/debug/kwin5-5.12.0-1.1.x86_64/wayland_cursor_theme.cpp:90 c = #7 0x7f351bfcc13d in KWin::WaylandCursorTheme::get (this=0x563d373dfee0, shape=) at /usr/src/debug/kwin5-5.12.0-1.1.x86_64/wayland_cursor_theme.cpp:84 No locals. #8 0x7f351bedbd7c in KWin::CursorImage::loadThemeCursor (this=0x563d37581b20, shape=shape@entry=@0x7ffd4e791354: Qt::ArrowCursor, cursors=..., image=0x563d37581bd0) at /usr/src/debug/kwin5-5.12.0-1.1.x86_64/pointer_input.cpp:1194 cursor = b = buffer = it = {i = 0x7f3519cdc360 } #9 0x7f351beda40d in KWin::CursorImage::loadThemeCursor (image=, shape=, this=) at /usr/src/debug/kwin5-5.12.0-1.1.x86_64/pointer_input.cpp:1175 No locals. #10 KWin::CursorImageoperator() (__closure=0x563d374e45c0) at /usr/src/debug/kwin5-5.12.0-1.1.x86_64/pointer_input.cpp:911 this = 0x563d37581b20 #11 QtPrivate::FunctorCall, QtPrivate::List<>, void, KWin::CursorImage::CursorImage(KWin::PointerInputRedirection*):: >::call (arg=, f=...) at /usr/include/qt5/QtCore/qobjectdefs_impl.h:130 No locals. #12 QtPrivate::Functor, 0>::call, void> (arg=, f=...) at /usr/include/qt5/QtCore/qobjectdefs_impl.h:240 No locals. #13 QtPrivate::QFunctorSlotObject, 0, QtPrivate::List<>, void>::impl(int, QtPrivate::QSlotObjectBase *, QObject *, void **, bool *) (which=, this_=0x563d374e45b0, r=, a=, ret=) at /usr/include/qt5/QtCore/qobjectdefs_impl.h:423 No locals. #14 0x7f3519c600cc in QMetaObject::activate(QObject*, int, int, void**) () from /usr/lib64/libQt5Core.so.5 No symbol table info available. #15 0x7f351bfcbd5f in KWin::WaylandCursorTheme::loadTheme (this=0x563d373dfee0) at /usr/src/debug/kwin5-5.12.0-1.1.x86_64/wayland_cursor_theme.cpp:70 size = -2147483648 this = 0x563d373dfee0 stripped here see attached log for detailed backtrace - Workaround: Setting kcminputrc_mouse_cursorsize='' in startupconfig prevents triggering this bug (NOTE: it was originally set to 0 in my account). [Falkon] [Bug 390316] New: Page background before loading should be set according to application colour scheme
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=390316 Bug ID: 390316 Summary: Page background before loading should be set according to application colour scheme Product: Falkon Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: now...@gmail.com Reporter: kishor...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- I am currently using falkon with the 'Linux default' theme, which takes the application colours configured in the desktop environment. I am also using a greasemonkey script that modifies the colours of webpages to be dark themed, and a dark application colour scheme. However, I still get flashes of white before a webpage loads. Ideally, the browser would set the default / empty page background to the colour set in the colour scheme. This would be helpful for people like me who prefer dark themes. In case this would cause problems with webpages that don't specify the background colour, perhaps you could make this a user configurable option that is off by default, and can be enabled at the user's own risk. For instance, Firefox has an option to set the default background colour, IIRC. Something similar in falkon would be nice to have. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kmail2] [Bug 361630] kmail default identity change has no effect
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361630 --- Comment #8 from Kees Bergwerf --- well I think it still isn't solved but I have edited the folder properties of a lot of folders, so there the problem is not visible :-) When I change the default identity in the kmail settings, it has no effect in the folders. In the folder-properties, this default ID is put on top but when selecting 'use default ID', the identity that is used, is the ID that is on top in the kmail settings. I don't waste too much time on it. Select the desired ID in the folder properties. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
