[Bug 204370] New: forwarding a mail automatically inserts a (random?) recipient

2009-08-19 Thread Carsten Pfeiffer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=204370

Summary: forwarding a mail automatically inserts a (random?)
recipient
   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.12.0
  Platform: unspecified
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: pfeif...@kde.org

Version: 1.12.0 (using 4.3.00 (KDE 4.3.0), Debian packages)
Compiler: cc
OS:Linux (i686) release 2.6.30-1-686-bigmem

When I forward a mail, kmail automatically inserts a recipient into the
composer window. I have no idea how it would try to know or even guess whom I
want to forward the mail, but it is quite disturbing. Obviously it never
guesses the right recpient ;-)

SVN commit 1013326 by tmcguire:

Backport r1013072 by tmcguire from trunk to the 4.3 branch:

Remove the hack that fixed some bugs in Qt, since those bugs are now fixed, and
now this hack introduces its own bugs...

Add unit test to verify that it works.

This problem may be still present in the KDE 4.3.0 release (Gentoo). However,
both kaddressbook, and selecting an address for a new email, seem to work
perfectly fine.

There is a simple 'workaround' to the empty folder list (as mentioned
originally by m.w...@web.de):
1. Close kmail (not minimize, close) and start it again,
2. The very first attempt (and only the first) to add to the addressbook works
correctly (although the cancel button still produces the incorrect dialog box).

Moreover, a similar problem (the cancel button part) was also mentioned in the
bug #202070.

--- Comment #1 from Martin Koller kollix aon at 2009-08-19 21:08:14 ---
I can reproduce. It does not have to do with the textbox having focus, it has
to do with the mouse position.
Obviously when the mouse is above a clearButton when the line is deleted, the
other line over which the mouse is now does not react until you move the mouse
out of the clearButton rectangle and come back to it.

I checked it and found this to be a Qt4.5.2 bug (underMouse() delivering wrong
value in that case). I will report to Nokia.

If the tool kmailcvt is not installed on your system, then the import action
is disabled.

can you explain in little more detail, please ?
And please check if you still have this problem with the current 4.3 version.

[Bug 204469] New: gmail imap google talk issue

2009-08-19 Thread Radu Benea
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=204469

Summary: gmail imap google talk issue
   Product: kmail
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: radu...@gmail.com

Version: KMail
Version 1.12.90 (using Devel)
Compiler: gcc (Gentoo 4.3.4 p1.0, pie-10.1.5) 4.3.4

OS:Linux
Installed from:Compiled sources

I have a gmail account and chat logs appear in my inbox, this is normally not
an issue because they are magically marked as read, except, when I receive an
offline message via google talk.
When this happens I get the inbox folder marked as if I got new mail, but when
I open it I can't see anything. Since I got the recheck mail every 5 minutes
set, I get flagged as having new mail every 5 minutes, and everytime I look
in the inbox there's nothing (but the new message flag goes away).

I do realize this is probably not a bug in kmail but in gmail's way of handling
this type of special messages. However I posted this bug so that you can
decide who has the problem.

I should also mention that I have no filters whatsoever neither in gmail nor in
kmail. But offline google talk messages are not normal emails either...

Thanks for looking into this!

[Bug 51798] message decryption on demand via link in the mail (a la html rendering)

--- Comment #15 from Thomas McGuire mcguire kde org 2009-08-20 00:47:47 ---
I consider this fixed, as we have the option Attempt decryption of encrypted
messages when viewing now.
If that option is disabled, the mail viewer shows a link to decrypt the
message.

The mail viewer in KDE 4.4 is no non-blocking, so this is fixed.

In KMail starting with KDE 4.2, you can configure global and per-folder
sort-orders, although the UI for that is a bit clumsy.

[Bug 90224] disconnected imap: moved messages are upload instead of being moved on the server

--- Comment #5 from Thomas McGuire mcguire kde org 2009-08-20 00:55:00 ---
I think IMAP does actually not support moving mails on the server, so an upload
is necessary.
At least I couldn't find the word 'move' in RFC r3501, and I remember that the
guy implementing the new Akonadi IMAP resource said that as well.

The message structure viewer is now hidden by default, starting with KDE 4.4.
It can be enabled with the context menu or the View menu.
