Nice one Don. I think I met you (I remember your plane) at Temora a couple
of years back. I'll keep you in mind as my project progresses. Apart from
the nosewheel, you've done a lot of the things I'm planning.

Cheers,

Tony

KR> KR G rating

2013-08-23 Thread pk.sm...@bigpond.net.au
Does this calculation change if all your fuel is in the wings. I'm imagining
the fuel being directly supported by the wing skin rather than forces acting
through the spars, WAFs & stub to body joint as it would if you had fuel only
behind the firewall.

I'm sure Larry meant "gross" weight. He definitely knows how this works!

Don, Great looking plane. Do you by chance have pics of your wing
extension? What is your stall speed? I am also looking at extending the
wings and could sure use some pics of your process.

2013-08-23 Thread Craig Williams
VERY nice specimen Don.? I have started building a new laminated spar to
increase my wingspan to 26.25 feet and have already increased the tail surfaces
by about the same as yours.? Also like to legthen the fuselage but unwilling to
start over.? I am very interested in your gross wt and stall speed as it
compares to the other AS5048 wings.? I am using the RAF48 but the decrease in
stall should be representative of what I might expect.

Thanks

Jiro 19-4271 ,empty 300kg full fuel, 2POB , baggage 590 kg Only
problem with the Jabiru has been rusting of the cylinder walls when i became
ill without inhibiting them. I have since ,recently , had the barrels honed and
Nicasil plated which seems to have cured the problem.
