I've open this issue concerning the solver

And as I explained in the bug, this one is non-trivial. The extension
in general don't use the same translation mechanism that the rest of
LibO uses. Even so, some extensions written in C++ and included in the
build tree cheats by directly accessing LibO's internal resource API
(such as calc's default linear solver), but because the non-linear
solver is written in Java, we can't do that cheat. :-(

So, to make the string translatable for this extension we'd have to make

don't feel comfortable doing in the 3.3 time line.

Hi,

Today Kohei signed off my patch to nlpsolver and I committed it. I also
committed the following translations from Pootle (+ Slovenian from
direct mail): ast, ca, fr, hu, it, nl, pt-BR, sl. These languages were
at 100%. Whenever I notice that a language reach 100%, I'll commit it, too.

Cheers,

Question to all localizers: how many of you want to translate this?
Please note that this is highly technical - e.g. I'm not sure I want
this in Hungarian. I can convert .properties to .po and I can ask Rimas
to put them into Pootle, but I need to know, if it worths the effort. It

No need to convert actually, Pootle supports .properties files natively.
I've just slightly altered the names of all four (2 English and 2
German) files, and they're good to go:
http://translations.documentfoundation.org/projects/extensions/.

Those who want to translate using Pootle should just ask to enable
translating this project into their language, and that's about it.

I'd like to translate the extensions using Pootle. Note that the main Finnish
translation of LibreOffice is handled outside Pootle and we'd like to keep it
that way for 3.3. But these extensions would help us (the Finnish team) to get
familiar with Pootle and perhaps switch to it for the rest of LibO in the
future releases.

I registered to Pootle with account hatapitk. Could you please add the
Extensions for LibO 3.3 project for Finnish and give me the necessary rights
needed for translation?

Finnish added to the project, and you now have all the necessary rights
on Pootle.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask here. One of the things
people usually ask is why the translation is not saved upon pressing
Next. That's because you have to press Submit to save it. ;)

Yes. That's possible, except for the name of the solver itself that
appears at the top of the Options dialog. That name is hard-coded in
the code, so even with .properties files it's not possible to translate
it.

To make the solver name available in the .properties files would require
changing the code there, unfortunately. But I believe everything else
can be translated with the .properties files as you said.

Question to all localizers: how many of you want to translate this?
Please note that this is highly technical - e.g. I'm not sure I want
this in Hungarian. I can convert .properties to .po and I can ask Rimas
to put them into Pootle, but I need to know, if it worths the effort. It
 is already translated to German.

I think at least the second one should be localized, it is not so technical.
The first one - I would need some technical help with the translation, so I
will leave it as it is. I will send you back the second file localized.

Also, there is a help section in this extension. Help of extensions are
not localizable at all in the current framework. Localizing of extension
help is planned feature in OOo (thus we'll have it some day in
LibreOffice - unless all help system changes in LibreOffice).

I hope help system does not change.

Lp, m.

As a temporary solution, can't we just translate the .properties files
and bundle the translated .properties? All you need to do is to update
tarball at the end of the process.

Andras,

send us the .properties files (or a link thereof), please!

Thanks,
m.

Hi Martin,

No need to convert actually, Pootle supports .properties files natively.
I've just slightly altered the names of all four (2 English and 2
German) files, and they're good to go:
http://translations.documentfoundation.org/projects/extensions/.

Those who want to translate using Pootle should just ask to enable
translating this project into their language, and that's about it.

I'm glad that it is so easy with Pootle. Thanks, Rimas. Please enable
hu, I'll give it a try.

One interesting extension is the Calc non-linear Solver: Tools - Solver

Can we load them in Pootle?

I've open this issue concerning the solver
  https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=30839

And as I explained in the bug, this one is non-trivial.  The extension
in general don't use the same translation mechanism that the rest of
LibO uses.  Even so, some extensions written in C++ and included in the
build tree cheats by directly accessing LibO's internal resource API
(such as calc's default linear solver), but because the non-linear
solver is written in Java, we can't do that cheat. :-(

So, to make the string translatable for this extension we'd have to make
non-trivial amount of change in the code itself, which I personally
don't feel comfortable doing in the 3.3 time line.

Hello all

I think we are in the intersection of several issues on 3.3 and time is
pressing:

1) the fact that the windows installer is broken on the Extensions option,
2) untranslated extensions like this one, which is difficult,
3) bundled extensions (new in 3.3), which prevents removing them thru unopkg.

equals= drop these bundled extensions in 3.3 and let's work them better in
3.4. There no issue on installing them after a clean and stable installation.
