It’s 11:00. Do you know where YOUR ironies are? If you don’t, well, here
you go. I got another one for you, right
here.http://www.aporrea.org/contraloria/n227570.html The
latest from the sneak-thieves and bastards of a certain oil-rich South
American land, exposed:

*On Twitter, you can detect many things and it proves that lies have short
legs.*
*

As well, you can see evidence of how the revolutionary government creates
jobs, and does good regardless of who you are, since afterwards, many of
those who benefited committed crimes like those of the 14th and 15th of
April, after the elections.

In the case of Mr. Manuel Alvarez, his application for a job was seen to,
and as you can see on his Twitter profile, he was accepted by PDVSA to work
in the Amuay refinery.

Now, he’s not only calling for the death of National Electoral Council
rector Tibisay Lucena and calling [National Assembly president] Diosdado
Cabello a “son of a bitch”, but actively participated in the pot-banging
protests to discredit the will of the democratic majority, expressed in the
recent elections, and even published videos of them on the Internet.

The great majority of opposition members who work in public administration,
do their job and don’t set out to violate the Constitution and the laws,
but how many others are there like Mr. Alvarez, actively offending and
calling for the deaths of high-level functionaries of government?

Is it a violation of labor rights to fire a person who publicly calls for
the deaths of high-level public servants?
*

*Wasn’t the Amuay refinery recently subjected to a sabotage?*

Translation mine.

And yes, the Amuay refinery WAS the target of a recent sabotage
attackhttp://venezuelanalysis.com/analysis/7214,
which was very conveniently seized on by Majunche Capriles and his
goons,http://venezuelanalysis.com/analysis/7211 as
is the Venezuelan national electric company,
Corpoelec.http://venezuelanalysis.com/news/8818 At
the latter, the situation is so disturbing that the company president,
Argenis Chávez (yes, he’s the younger brother of the late Chavecito; he’s
also an electrical engineer by training, so this was not a case of simple
nepotism, as he was actually qualified to do the job) has chosen to step
down in order for investigations to proceed freely and
fairly.http://www.aporrea.org/energia/n227589.html

But then again, Argenis Chávez is a democrat, like his older brother, who
actually listened and, oh evil dictator, *helped out* when a job applicant
contacted him via Twitter. And he isn’t a shameless prick like Manuel
Alvarez and all those other saboteurs of Venezuelan democracy. You know,
the ones who are always crying fraud and resorting to violence in reaction
to a government devoid of fraud, and which does not resort to violence
against them.

And the same who claim to be democratic while overtly acting as anything
but.

[LAAMN] Fwd: [rac-lasupporters] Fwd: The Communist Manifesto - WW Classes Resume this Friday!

2013-04-25 Thread John A Imani
Comrade,

I'm sorry I don't know.

You will have to direct the question to the IAC (which I have cc:ed and
hopefully they will get back to you.)

I congratulated them on this effort as in these times the outlining and
popularizing of Marxian economics (beginning w the Manifesto as there is no
better introduction to such thinking) is sorely sorely needed.

Best,

 This Week: The Communist Manifesto

We're told we can't change the system. We're told instead that we
must continue to give up vital and necessary social services and jobs
to keep Capitalism and the banks afloat. But to many, using our tax
dollars to subsidize bank profits while they continue to foreclose
homes and refuse to invest in jobs and peoples needs; spending
trillions on wars and drones against other workers to enrich the rich
and military industrial complex; funding more for police brutality and
less on what's necessary to make our neighborhoods and schools
 healthy, makes no sense.

If you're trying to make the world a better place for humanity, it
doesn't make sense, however, Marx and Lenin were among those who
exposed the fact that it actually does make sense to the workings of a
capitalist system, its ruling class and their puppet law makers.

The science of Marx and Lenin is part of the cumulative knowledge of
societies all over the world. They built upon that knowledge to
advocate for a scientific approach toward society and economics called
Socialism, which allows us to go beyond the confines of Capitalism for
a more humane, truly democratic and intelligent system that provides
 for all in society.

In the Communist Manifesto Marx breaks down society into its
fundamental parts, showing the forces within society that determine
its shape, level of exploitation and ideas. It exposes the fact that
there is a class struggle going on today and teaches us not only about
the need for revolution, but how our class can win basic necessities
to survive along the way towards that revolution.

Before we can change society, we have to know what it really looks
like and the forces that really make it run. The Communist Manifesto
is a means to that ends.

Please join us and together let's work on applying our knowledge to
today's struggles. Hope to see you there!

Arrested US citizen tied to rightists' conspiracy
http://static2.avn.info.ve/sites/default/files/imagecache/original-watermark/fotografia/201304/_mg_60961366909128.jpg

Caracas, 25 Abr. AVN.- Interior Relations, Justice and Peace minister,
Miguel Rodriguez Torres, informed Thursday about the arrest of a US citizen
named Timothy Hallett Tracy, who is allegedly tied to conspiracy of local
right-wing sectors against democracy in Venezuela.

Actions carried out by Timothy Hallett Tracy, aka 'gringo,' are tied to far
right groups which seek to destabilize Venezuela through attacks in the
streets after the April 14 presidential elections.

Minister Rodriguez Torres said that the objective of the plan was to create
chaos in the country to undermine the government, creating a violent
scenario.

It is important to inform the population about situations that have been
occurring. We will show the reasons and ties they have to carry out a
series of actions we have been living since the April 14 elections at
night, Rodriguez Torres said at a press conference.

Since October, November and December 2012, he said, the National Bolivarian
Service of Intelligence (SEBIN) started investigations on a plan named
Connection April.

All evidences we have gathered showed that the election day would come in
complete normality; but once results were released by the National
Electoral Council (CNE), right-wing candidate Henrique Capriles Radonski
would refuse to accept it, the Minister detailed.

During investigations, Rodriguez Torres added, a US citizen was found
deeply related to rightist young people who make up the so-called Operation
Sovereignty.

When this relationship was found, surveillance and monitoring started and
we noticed that this person manage to infiltrate into revolutionary groups
to get their protection, though he related with the far right, explained
the Interior Relations, Justice and Peace minister.

This US citizen is presumed to be member of an intelligence agency. Also,
he has been funded by foreign non governmental organizations.

*Connection April*

Miguel Rodriguez Torres explained that the plan Connection April aimed at
stirring actions after results of the presidential election were released
and leading to a civil war.

It was its objective, leading us to a civil war. We have documents in
proof of it, which they exchange through chips. Messengers took them from
La Castellana square (eastern Caracas) to gringo's house.

According to him, investigations revealed that the idea was to achieve a
civil war in Venezuela to lead to the immediate intervention of a foreign
power.

Those were and continue being their ends. We have over 500 videos seized
in a raid. We wonder, Does housewives who voted for the opposing option
want a civil war? Does taxi drivers want that? I am sure that nobody in
this country, regardless of their stance, wants that, except these
extremist groups headed by extremist leaders of rightist parties who want
civil war, said the Miguel Rodriguez Torres.

*Evidence*

At a press conference, minister Miguel Rodriguez Torres presented a video
in which Antonio Rivero, retired general of the Armed Force, giving orders
to people who disturbed public order at Altamira community, greater Caracas.

All evidence seized in a raid carried out last Wednesday night will be
submitted to the corresponding organs.

The National Government has managed to act on time to continue guaranteeing
peace and calm to the Venezuelan population thanks to intelligence actions
nationwide, Rodriguez Torres stressed.

The President of the Republic, Nicolas Maduro, has emphasized that this
country will always be on the road of peace and coexistence. It has to be
an effort of all Venezuelans, regardless of our ideological and political
stance. We have to reject and isolate these fascist factors that are trying
that Venezuelans kill among ourselves and hate ourselves. We cannot allow
that, insisted the Minister.

On Thursday, May 2, 2013 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm Eastern Time, the United States
Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) will webcast and telephone conference link
its meeting with representatives from communities challenging the continued
operation of thirty-one Fukushima-style reactors here in the United States. The
groups along with now more than 2,250 co-signers have petitioned the federal
agency for the closure of the GE Mark I and Mark II boiling water reactors
because of the unreliable containment structures that are vulnerable to
catastrophic failure during a serious nuclear accident.

The NRC is meeting with the public Thursday, May 2, 2013, from 1:00 pm to 3:00

A young man's traumatic journey from adolescence to adulthood comes to vivid,
heartbreaking, yet ultimately hopeful life in Daniel Talbott's 2009 drama
Slipping, whose Los Angeles premiere reunites its pair of New York stars under
the incisive direction of its multitalented writer.
Steven Stanley – StageSceneLA

Talbott has...not only given his actors rich material to inhabit but he has
made a contribution to gay literature.
Charles McNulty – LA Times

compelling and occasionally shocking (there is also male nudity in this
production). Ultimately, the play's strength lies in its honest depiction of
abuse and loneliness.
Jesse David Corti – Stage and Cinema

Be prepared to have your heartstrings tugged and tear ducts flowing,
especially during the Eli/Jake scenes near the end. A number of hysterical
bawdy jokes will make you laugh amongst the tears (look out for the Michael
Jackson rib near the end).
Gil Kaan – Culture Spot LA

Slipping is an important new play, one that needs to be shared on whatever
level it is offered. Because Talbott's writing and staging is so clearly
filmic, it wouldn't be surprising if this run in our reclaimed desert might
find it has an even more apparent future than the emergence of its original
star.
Travis Michael Holder – ArtsInLA

All too often, coming of age stories come across as stale and trite, but
Slipping exists in a deeper world than many of its contemporaries. While it's
not outright devastating, there's something heartbreaking about growing up, and
about Eli's story in particular. Slipping flourishes in the space between the
infinitesimal cracks it creates in the audiences' hearts.
Katie Buenneke – Neon Tommy

To the extent Slipping is a coming-out story, it's the story of Jake, not Eli.
Everyone knows Eli is gay; it is Jake who goes on the journey of
self-discovery. And it is a fun journey—not full of angst and confusion, but
excitement and joy.
Sharon Perlmutter – Talkin' Broadway

This is a remarkable production of a striking play, produced by Addie
Johnson-Talbott and Gaalan Michaelson with style and grace for Rattlestick-West
Productions, exhibiting much insight into teenaged and young-twenties angst. A
coming-out play, it skips most of the clichés inherent in the genre and allows
real characters to come into their own. Highly recommended for all audiences.
Dale Reynolds – Stagehappenings

Talbott's direction and staging elements are highly styled, very calculated,
and imbued with metaphor. The production resounds with young hormonal rage
mixed with moments of sheer sweetness and affection for the work being
treated to the lusciousness of a complex first-love story, is worth the price
of admission.
Mia Bonadonna – LAist

The L.A. premiere of this excellent piece, produced by the New York-based
Rattlestick Playwrights Company that introduced the play Off-Broadway, is
graced with a handsomely mounted and consummately acted rendition.
Les Spindle – Backstage

Under Talbott's direction, Numrich captures and authentically conveys
adolescent confusion. Also well captured is the self-loathing that spawns
abusive behavior, as seen in the actions of the supporting characters.
Pauline Adamek – ArtsBeatLA
