Re: [lace] Lace - Tonder/Bucks
I think it might encourage more sales of her books. I am always cognizant of copyright issues, and would not normally post something that was produced by another person. However, in view of the fact that this page bears no copyright message, combined with Gunvor's love of Tønder lace and her willingness to share her knowledge with us, what would you think if I scanned the page and put it on my web site as a .pdf? That way, anyone who is interested could view, download and print the information. Does anyone see a problem with this plan? Barbara Snoqualmie, WA USA Good morning spiders, As a very keen Bucks Point lace maker I was looking at some lace sites to study various types of lace and have been completely perplexed as to the difference between Bucks Point and Tonder, to me they look identical can anyone point me in the right direction as to the differences if any? I'm not aware that Gunvor wrote any books. If I'm mistaken, please let me know titles, availability, etc. Thanks, Barbara I think it might encourage more sales of her books. Re: [lace] Lace - Tonder/Bucks
Spoke too soon.. It was Inge Skovgaard, not Gunvor, who wrote the books I had in mind. Re: [lace] Lace - Tonder/Bucks
Hello Sue, Both laces belong to the group of Point Ground laces, that's why they look so similar. Only on the edge and some other little technical things are different and the motives. There are still other laces belonging to that family, the German Liebenauer P.G.l. and the Erzgebirge P.G.l., the Lille lace, the Beveren, the Blonde lace and last not least the Chantilly but this one is normaly done with black silk. Hope this helps Greetings Ilske - To unsubscribe send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] containing the line: unsubscribe lace [EMAIL PROTECTED] For help, write to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: [lace] Lace - Tonder/Bucks
Sue, If you have a Tönder pricking you get a Tönder-lace. You can't get a Bucks motiv on a Tönder pricking. You find all Point Ground laces and their differences in the OIDFA-booklet with the same title. Hi Sue The OIDFA Point Ground Study Group produced a book in 2001 detailing all the technical differences between the various Point Ground laces. http://www.oidfa.com/index%20en.htm Brenda On 3 Apr 2007, at 12:06, Sue wrote: Good morning spiders, As a very keen Bucks Point lace maker I was looking at some lace sites to study various types of lace and have been completely perplexed as to the difference between Bucks Point and Tonder, to me they look identical can anyone point me in the right direction as to the differences if any?
