RE: Brand new LOM 200 for sale

2019-07-31 Thread Tim Krause
You have two choices, 1- 1/2" and something close to .039".  You just need to
swap the gears.  Could wrong, on the smaller number, I don't that information
near me.

A pen is made with a 1/2" roping bit and you would do a three start twist (
pitch / router bit dia = number of starts ).

The smaller pitch is used with a cove bit to make your stock round.  It's not
the best finish. The flat bit has an okay finish, but it needs to be offset
like our big machine. You can only run the bit down the centers.

Joe,

This box has at least one set of "Limit Switches with brackets" in it.

Also appears to have "Y-Axis Hand Wheel sets (with hardware) and at least one
Y-Axis gantry.

I'm puzzled by that good-size piece in the upper left with the two shafts w/ a
gear on each one is. Looks like something about it is designed to change
orientation by 90 degrees.

If you get him to take more pics, suggest he:

1. Wipe the dust off so we can see what's in the bags. Do not open bags - if
possible.

2. If there is a label or tag, take the pic such that we can see AND read
(mean have writing in focus) label/tag.

3. As best he can, arrange "like items" together. If several are identical,
have one "face up" and the other "face down" in the photo - so we can see what
both sides look like. For instance arrange the "Lettered Gears" so that we see
all seven - and if he has 4 sets, have all 4 sets laid out on the photo. I
realize that may be a "pain" - BUT, it will make a difference when he lists
them for sale.

Thanks again!

Mac

heading home now and will respond to all... but a suggestion, please use
the photo reference number when commenting on a specific photo and making
reference to what might be in a box... this is all getting a bit confusing,
LOL!... thanks... Joe B.

Re: three legacy's for sale and accessories and parts

2019-07-31 Thread MWF
Joe,This box has at least one set of  "Limit Switches with brackets" in it.Also appears to have "Y-Axis Hand Wheel sets (with hardware) and at least one Y-Axis gantry.I'm puzzled by that good-size piece in the upper left with the two shafts w/ a gear on each one is.  Looks like something about it is designed to change orientation by 90 degrees. If you get him to take more pics, suggest he:1.  Wipe the dust off so we can see what's in the bags.  Do not open bags - if possible.2.  If there is a label or tag, take the pic such that we can see AND read (mean have writing in focus) label/tag.3.  As best he can, arrange "like items" together.  If several are identical, have one "face up" and the other "face down" in the photo - so we can see what both sides look like.  For instance arrange the "Lettered Gears" so that we see all seven - and if he has 4 sets, have all 4 sets laid out on the photo.  I realize that may be a "pain" - BUT, it will make a difference when he lists them for sale. Thanks again!Mac-Original Message-

Wonder what that "shoe tag" on that red handled clamp has written on its back side?  That might give a clue as to what the gun-metal gray pieces are. My guess they are either Pre-Legacy Mill pieces (Phantom Engineering/Woodchuck?) or post manual Mill pieces (very early CNC model?)Mac-Original Message-

Joe,I can "help" you on this one.  Those nylon "Gear Packages" are for a Legacy Model 500/600.  Appears
that when they are installed, they produce a 3" pitch. The topmost
larger gear is the Indexing Gear/Plate for the set.  I'm not sure where
the two smaller ones mount.  Most likely one is used where we normally
mount one of the "lettered" gears on the Models 1000/1500.I also see several Manual Crank Handles (not assembled) and a fair number of accessory mounting brackets in the box.Thank you VERY much for tackling this task. You get awarded Tim's K's "Golden Gear Award" this week! (When you visit theLegacy factory in UT, you can show it and get a free cup of coffee in their break room.Mac-Original Message-

Re: Brand new LOM 200 for sale

2019-07-31 Thread Tracy Smith
No problem at all. My offer stand for anyone in the group that may be
interested in that LOM 200. I can see that it is still available.

This group is great for answering questions and sharing insights so it's
the least I can do.

Have a great Wednesday.
