[LegacyUG] Maps

2017-10-16 Thread Jennifer Crockett
These have been non-operational for a long time. Do we have assurance
someone, somewhere is working on it?

Re: [LegacyUG] Resizing Windows

2017-10-16 Thread JV Leavitt
Try this instead:  Place the Legacy window on the upper left corner of
your monitor screen, then put your mouse cursor on the right-hand edge
of the Legacy window to get the double arrow Icon.  Now VERY quickly
drag the Icon across the screen to a place near the right hand edge of
the screen where you want it to go, and quickly let go.  Next, do the
same with the bottom edge of the Legacy window, to get it near the
bottom of the screen.  This worked for me just now.  I had tried the
small-change-at-a-time technique, but I would end up with a temporary
feeling of disgust -- wanting to express my feelings with very harsh
words. :-)

I felt a solution was necessary because I want my Legacy window on the
right-hand side of a dual monitor setup, and deeply and sincerely want
it go there automatically the next time I open the program.

There is probably a software solution that would help, but Legacy will
always open on the screen it was on when the program was closed --- if
it is not maximized.

For some Legacy window sizes issues, deleting the Legacy2.usr file
helps (all all the Legacy#.usr files) but it doesn't seem to help this
one with the main window.

Sometimes trying small steps works to resize, sometimes it doesn't.

Sometimes trying to resize from another side or corner works,
sometimes it doesn't.

Sometimes closing or minimising other program windows and keeping the
Legacy window away from corners works (which suggests the problem may
be mixed up with the snap in Windows), but sometimes it doesn't.

Sometimes just closing and reopening Legacy frees it to resize,
sometimes i t doesn't.

I find closing and reopening Legacy after having tried the other
things generally frees it to resize again.

Gary
Some ideas.
* It's likely to be a large image so check the file sizes in the
relevant media folders for people who were in this report.
* To see if it's a source image, omit sources or at least source
pictures from the report and see if you get it.

* To see if it's an event image, omit events or at least event pics
* Change the number of generations in the report - is the error still
there? If not, it's in the generation that you just left out.

2017-10-16 Thread Mary Fowler Leek
Martha, I don't know if this is the file(s) you're asking about but the
following info is from a note I saved from an earlier discussion. I've never
experienced this resize problem so unable to verify this information. Maybe
you will recognize and know if it is the file you're asking about. Good
luck Mary

Legacy Screen Size reset:

Screen can be difficult to resize sometimes and why that is, is unknown.

If windows are opening in a different place, you probably need to delete
Legacy2.usr and perhaps some of the other Legacy#.usr to reset to defaults.
You'll find them in ...\Documents\Legacy Family Tree\_AppData\usr\ folder

Hello,
I have forgotten the trick to resizing the windows. I know there is a file
to remove, reboot and then things are fine. My beginning window is stuck in
small mode. Nothing I do will make it larger.
Thanks for the help

Re: [LegacyUG] Resizing Windows

2017-10-16 Thread Martha Graham

Thanks Crystal,
But that does not work. There is a file in Legacy that, when removed,
will reset the size of the windows. The problem is not with the Win os,
it is with Legacy.
