Re: [LegacyUG] Sorting children - twins

2021-03-05 Thread David Turley
Legacy has a function that allows you to change the order of children. With
the family involved open in Family view, right click in the list of
children and select Childrens Settings from the drop down menu. Doing so
should bring up a screen that has the word ORDER in the lower right-hand
corner with two arrows to the right of the word, Highlight either twin and
select either arrow to move the twin to the order you want them.

Re-spell the first and second part of both names (not the surname) to
correct the birth order listing might correct the listing in a report.

2021-03-04 Thread Roberta Schwalm
Would having a feature added to the birthdate to indicate the time of birth
solve the problem? There would not be a problem if one twin was born just
before midnight and the other after midnight but I imagine that that is not
a common occurrence in case of twins.

John Francis, perhaps you could make that a suggestion that to Legacy?

Changing the Sequence of Children

As children are added to a family, Legacy places them in chronological
order according to their birthdates. If no birthdate is included, the child
is placed at the end of the list. If you want to change this order,
highlight the child whose name you want to move and then use the up and
down Order arrows in the lower right corner to move the name within the
list.

Re: [LegacyUG] Sorting children - twins

2021-03-04 Thread Chris Hill
I think that the order in which it sorts children when you have
multiple with the same birth date is a bit undefined. I suspect that it
will use the last updated date to sort them but I am not sure.
Certainly, when stepping through them from the bar between the
individual and spouse I will find that if I change the first of the pair
then the next one I get shown will be the next one after the pair rather
than the second of the pair. It also shows up in the list of children
under the parents changing.

Ideally, they should sort on the child's first name or the RIN for
consistency.

Chris
