fdo#73151 Make better use of the sidebar

The general idea is to encourage use of the sidebar instead of floating 
windows (for Navigator, StylesFormatting and Gallery)

Changes:
* Show the sidebar by default in Writer  Impress
* Remove the Gallery floating window (Gallery now always opens in the 
sidebar)
* Remove all Gallery, Navigator and StylesFormatting links from the 
default toolbar in Writer
  (since they have an icon in the sidebar and the sidebar is shown by 
default now)
* When selecting More from the Styles dropdown, the Stylelist opens in 
the sidebar instead of the floating window

Indentation fixes

This makes model.xml about 20kb smaller. Most inconsistencies were
introduced when unused tags were removed, like optional.

TinderBox 39, 47 51 builds offline, so no Windows symbols

Hate to pester, but your Windows TB's for Master--and Symbols--dropped off
line ~12-14 Aug.

Thorsten's TB 42 has continued to grind out builds of master, so the missing
builds have not been too big a deal.

However, with Samuel M.'s refactoring of the SideBar done today

think we will need valid symbols and build to work against as we review
those changes.

Thanks for the information. Haven't read the whole bugdescriptions in
august. There were three bugs more with the same content. So I could set
these bug as duplicate, and - which is better - as solved with LO 4.3.2

Steps to reproduce:
1. Enable use of LibreOffice's Open/Save dialog (i.e. not platform-native)
2. Launch the attached accessible-event listener
3. Tab to give focus to the File type combo box
4. Up and Down Arrow to change the selection

Expected results: Accessibility events indicating the selection has changed,
such as object:state-changed:selected and/or object:selection-changed and/or
object:active descendant changed.

Actual results: Only object:state-changed:indeterminate is seen.

Notes:

1. This is a regression. Things work as expected in 4.2.x

2. Emitting object:state-changed:indeterminate is appropriate for things like
tri-state checkboxes when the state is neither fully checked nor fully
unchecked. It strikes me as odd that you would emit this event (i.e. I do not
think that this event makes sense in this instance for any platform's
accessibility API).

2. I noticed that you are emitting an accessible value changed event. I believe
that is expected for Windows' accessibility APIs. However for ATK/AT-SPI2,
value-change events are expected only for the sorts of things which implement
AtkValue (scrollbars, progressbars, sliders, spinbuttons, etc.) Combo boxes,
lists, and the like should not be emitting this event.

 I did realize that the hatching is saved only in the load hatching.so file
 (This hatching file has a lot more hatching models than the standard.soh
 file so is easier to create a custom hatching based on hatching.so models.
 Therefore would be not necessary to load a list of hatchings to add a new
 one if we merged hatching.so and standard.soh files).
I agree that it should be improved. But lets wait for someone with proper
knowledge to confirm what should be done in this area.

 Maybe a sugestion to improve hatching usability in the nexts versions ;-)
Seems like a quite hard wish.. ;)

please retest using this minimal autocorrect lists containing just those single
entries (.*--.* to en-dash in und  and .*---.* in en-AU)

those do work in my Win7x64 master build (*) even without editing the
replacement lists.

the only tests not working are all those with triple hyphen and enter, either
the a--- or the ---b etc. etc.

by the way thanks for the test file which will be very useful.

On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated yesterday, I could reproduce
this.

If I create from the file attached a new graphic, I could reproduce too the
problem.

This is the offending spreadsheet I have to work with.

Problem description: Duplex printing does not work for spreadsheet

Steps to reproduce:
1. Make a landscape spreadsheet with enough rows to cover two pages of A4
format.
2. Check the printer settings to allow duplex printing. The settings do not
stick. Each time the dialogue is opened, the settings are gone.
3. Print and see that the spreadsheet is printed over two single pages

Current behavior: Printing on single pages

Expected behavior: Printing recto/verso

Problem description:

When starting LibreOffice, I will see the last documents as a thumbnail. In
4.3.0.4 I can read my text in the thumbnail, when I saved the document with a
passphrase.
In the older versions i saw in this case an empty thumbnail.
This bug comes whith windows and linux version

Steps to reproduce:
1. create an writer document and write some words
2. save the document whith enable the passprase
3. close the document
4. open LibreOffice main whith the thumbnails
5. you can see your text in the secure thumbnail


Current behavior:
Everybody can read the text in the thumbnail

Expected behavior:
I expect an empty thumbnail

You're right Julien, reproducible with Sort by X values checked with LO
4.3.1.1. Looks like I forgot checked that in previous testing :)

Anyway I don't understand the purpose of Sort by X values in XY chart. It
doesn't make any difference in chart.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open attached sample document and compare the shape 
   directly drawn in the Writer document and the same 
   shape in the DRAW OLE object (has been created by 
   copy / paste)
   BUG: white space in Draw object

This problem has some different appearances depending on Version, may be
current status of User Profile and may be something else. Sometimes shape in
object looks ok after having opened file, but gradient disappears in object
edit mode, and also different buggy effects can be observed.

I know that that was ok for documents created with 4.0., but after having been
saved with 4.4 (And I also see the problem with 4.2.5) the document will show
the problem.

As I understand this report, the BCP47 language tag (cmo-Khmr-KH) for Khmer
script is not reflected in the status bar for the current selection (shows

Currently when you make changes to outline level / headings, the outlines
showing in navigator will automatically folded up. This is really annoying.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open the attached ODT file. The file contains headings.
2. Hit F5 to open the navigator, then un-fold the Headings in the navigator.
3. Make any changes to the contents of the headings.

Current behaviour:
The outline in the navigator automatically folded up.

Expected:
The outline level layout in the navigator shold stay un-folded as it was when
the contents are updated.

In the master (next 4.4) the template manager window opens in the startcenter
instead of in its own external window. It's great but there is an issue because

Sorry, forgot some detail: to open the template manager in the startcenter
window, you need to use the button Templates in the green sidebar (or its
dropdown list). 
The menu entry in File  New  Templates opens the already known window.

The procedure already exists: you can import the image files in your document.
To do that: menu  Edit  Links...  Select the links in the dialog which
appears and click the button Break link.

Not sure if it is a good idea for spacing because the current icons say more
than the word spacing and the unaware user could understand that that concern
the spacing between lines; with only the word spacing, I am not sure if he
could.

Not a bug from LibreOffice: you should set user data so that LibreOffice could
know that it is you who created and reopened the file.
To do that: menu Tools  Options  LibreOffice  User Data.

Please, try that and and check if that solve the problem for you. 
Note: before testing you must remove the lock file attached to the document
because this lock has not been removed by LibreOffice on closing the document
(it has not been closed). This lock file has a name in the form
.~lock.filename#. The dot in front of the name means that the lock file is
hidden. 

Set status to NEEDINFO. Please set it back to UNCONFIRMED once you have
provided requested informations. Thank you for your understanding.

Already available for Content box in Title, Content layout. It is the default
behavior (Autofit Text is checked in the contextual menu of this box).

Please, could you describe a use-case in which this functionality could be
useful?

Please note that the compression dialog shows data about the image to be
compressed. It could be not easy to make a dialog for the case of multiple
files.

there can be seen that the page seems to be longer - so that the layout is
destroyed by the export. Also the first footnote on the page does have its
number on the wrong place. Its too high.

The icons only say 'increase spacing' and 'decrease spacing' and i think that
plus and minus signs are more understandable than any other icon that could be
placed to represent such behaviour.

Problem description: I have a OTF font installed, called Dolly Pro by
Underware, and it contains 4 family members: regular, italic, bold and
smallcaps. The problem is with LibreOffice is that regular gets shown as
smallcaps, and then it creates a non-existant bold-italic. All other software
works fine with Dolly Pro and EB Garamond. EB Garamond has a small caps italic
and regular variant.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Install EB Garamond http://www.georgduffner.at/ebgaramond/

2. Start LibreOffice
3. Try to use the regular font

Current behavior: You always get Small caps, even though it calls it regular

Expected behavior: Ability to use font normally

the LO generated doc file was reopened by LO and exported to pdf to show the
problems. As you can see the page layout is destroyed. The text that was right
of the picture now is below. Foot note 43 does have its number too big and too
high. The last 2 pages in testcopy_lo.pdf now are 3 ones in
testcopy_lo_output.pdf. Seems to be that the export added another page. Why is
this so? 

The original pdf text had 22 pages. Using .doc export this expanded to 35 pages
as you can see. 

I am not able sending this to a publisher this way. He wont be very happy with
this kind of export.

Using LO under WinXP shows the format menu too small with the text inside too
wide - so that parts of the text are not possible to read. Its not so easy to
choose when not possible to read completely and not possible to widthen the
window to make it readable completely. This was better in earlier versions.

1 - create a doc including a formula with a working version of LO or AOO
2 - in the formula just add %pi, close the formula editor (you can see π)
3 - with LO 4.3.1.1 open the doc (you still can see π), open the formula. you
can see %PI has replaced %pi. Close the editor then you will see that Π has
replaced π
4 - make any change to the doc, save and close
5 - Open the doc with a working LO or AOO the Π is definitively in the formula

I was speaking about the icons themselves: the drawings show clearly that it
about line spacing.
That said, changing tooltip from [in/de]crease spacing to [in/de]crease line
spacing could help too.

This happens with ca. 1 week old development build, but it's been happening
since .ui migration of this tab page, I'd say.

1. Format cells - Alignment - Text orientation 

2. Spin 'Degrees' spinbox down to 0 (by clicking on down arrow)

3. Spin down once again, to 359 degrees

4. Try to spin down once again. The value gets reset to 0 (instead of going
fluently the full circle to 358, 357, ...)

Cells of a table in Writer can be protected through either the Table menu or
the right-click context menu. However, there is no option on the Table menu to
remove protection; as far as I can see, the only way to do that is through the
context menu to do that.

Steps to reproduce:
- Create a table in Writer.
- Select one or more cells.
- Look on the Table menu; note that there is a Protect Cells option.
- Right click on the selected cells; note that there is a Cell  Protect
option.
- Use either of the above two options to protect the cells.
- Look on the Table menu; note that the Protect Cells option is disabled, and
there is no option to remove protection.
- Right click on the selected cells; there is a Cell  Unprotect option.

Actual behaviour:
- There is no option on the Table menu to remove cell protection.

Expected behaviour:
- There should be an option on the Table menu to remove cell protection, when
protected cells are selected.

Platform is set to Windows x86 as that's what I use, but I suspect this will
affect all platforms.

 Open a previous CSV file with the Field Separator as a comma and the Text
 Delimiter as a single quote. Then try to open this file. LibreOffice get
 stuck and must be killed. Tested on LibreOffice 4.2 on Kubuntu Linux.

Thanks for providing the test file. I simply opened the provided attachment
under GNU/Linux with Calc and on the Text Import dialog changed the Text
delimiter from  to ' (default delimiter selections were Tab, Comma, and
Semicolon). It then took several minutes to return with soffice.bin running at
~100% CPU and when it eventually did the preview showed only a single row of
data. Same problem under:

Additional step needed here - re-select the cells protection was just applied
to, since the cursor is moved after applying protection.

Not reproducible for me with version 4.3.2.0.0+ build at home under Ubuntu
14.04 x86-64.
Which version are you using, the build provided by Ubuntu or the build
downloaded from LibreOffice website?

Did you try to reset your user profile?

I can not reproduce the bug.
I tried following steps:
fill 1 row in sheet TSP
save
wait 50 min (file is open)
fill 1 row in sheet TSP
save
fill 1 row in other sheets 
save
wait 30 min
close file

No crash nor failed dialog appears.

Very strange.  I reset my profile, that did nothing.

So then I exported the spreadsheet as an Excel.  Then I opened it and it was
able to be sorted without problem.

Then I opened the (unsorted) Excel saved as ODS; and this new ODS was able to
be sorted.

So there is something wrong with data migration between Libreoffice versions,
but search me as to what the problem actually is.
