Steps:
1) one writer
2) insert a chart
3) click on chart to initialize chart properties sidebar and it appears for a
second and then disappears

Regression as this works in 5.1.

Helmut: if you keep changing the status to NEEDINFO, you will be sabotaging the
chances of anyone looking at your report. NEEDINFO is only meant for *the

As images are treated as frames in writer, enabling the 90* rotations for
frames like what as done for images in bug 34423 should likely be possible. We
would need a dev to evaluated what is possible.

Also the Serbian (Latin and Cyrillic) localisation is woefully incomplete

Including a localisation that is painfully incomplete already at the
top-level menu level is counter-productive, I think.

I can't say I thoroughly understand this, but it seems mime-type detection for
these file types is not precisely defined:

Nevertheless, if it was fine in a previous release, then returning to that

So its not limited to just the orientation, the same thing happens when
changing the page/slide size, but interestingly it doesnt happen with
page/slide margins.

Also the workaround is to click within the page/slide pane and the thumbnails
will be refreshed.

Using Kubuntu 16.04 with Libreoffice Fresh PPA.

After upgrading from 5.1x to 5.2x, libreoffice's appearance in Plasma 5 was a
disaster. This is because I don't use libreoffice-kde (poor font in menus, poor
menus, and invisible "styles & formatting" selections). However,
libreoffice-gtk was removed by the upgrade and was uninstallable because it
required an older version of libreoffice. Since libreoffice is essential to my
work, I disabled the PPA, removed 5.2x and am currently using 1.5.1.4-0ubuntu1

Let's return this to UNCONFIRMED until someone can confirm how it looks in

What I can confirm is that it looks the same in LibreOffice 3.3.0 / Windows 7,

I'm a bit confused about some details here.
You're saying that accessing files on a remote computer was working in the
previous version of LibreOffice you had, but not working anymore, is that
correct? Which was the previous version you were using, and what is the "remote
connection" you mentioned in the first part of the report? (is it samba?) Also,
what happens exactly now, when it doesn't work?

CORRECTION TO ORIGINAL POST:
I meant to say "I can, however, transfer these files via the remote connection
from the Win7 machine to the Linux machine and open them and File Manager."

This bug report is similar to, but different from, #100055, so I am opening a
new bug report.

I haven't made extensive tests (and I have not tested LO on my Win7 machine for
this issue), but LO on my Linux machine has developed a problem since the most
recent LO updates.

I can still connect my Linux machine to my Win7 machine, access folders, AND
OPEN NON-LO files via the File Manager, but I cannot open LO files via File
Manager and the remote connection. I can, however, transfer these files from
the Win7 machine to the Linux machine and open them via the remote connection
and File Manager.

I tried to open remote files in LO Calc via File > Open Remote File..., but I
am still learning LO and Linux and was unable to quickly set up the remote
service and get it to work for me. Perhaps with more time... -- but my schedule
is full right now.

A quick search on the web indicates similar bugs have appeared on at least two
or three separate occasions in the past after software updates.

Actually, the left panel does resize to fit a larger/smaller font scaling but
only after one of the applications (Calc, Writer) is opened/closed.  Still a
trivial aesthetics bug.

No, the bug description says "Unify text layout to use HarfBuzz on all
platforms". It means that the bug with double glyph rendering will be fixed as
soon as LibreOffice starts using HarfBuzz text layout engine on Windows.

Problematic file with lots of formula objects

I am seeing the same behavior on 5.1.5.1 (Build ID: 5.1.5.1-2.fc24). I am
attaching my document. Editing the formula object on page 10 will freeze
LibreOffice, and a few seconds later locks up my entire machine.

GSoC Weekly Report #11 - Table Styles

This week I was still working on table styles "Styles and Formatting" 
panel.

Beside that been working on Undo & Redo, and adding table style by example.
Modified Table and Formatting panel that you can not add style by 
example when

youre not in the table.

load default set of table styles.

I checked the content of pl-dict-latest.oxt against what is in LibreOffice, and
it seems to contain the exact same dictionary, affix and hyphenation files. The
thesaurus is about half the size in the newer release.
You can verify that by going into /extensions/dict-pl, and comparing the files.

Can you check with the dictionary maintainers?

Regarding your question on update-information, after doing a search in the
repository of dictionaries that are bundled with LibreOffice, all I can say is,
only one dictionary has it in its description.xml. I'd guess it's not
important.

I have this very same problem in OSX 10.11.6 with LibreOffice 5.1.4.2, and the
Add button on the extension manager do NOT work either, so it seems I cannot
install extensions at all.

Firebird - Macosx ICU rpath

Hi,

The unit test CppunitTest_dbaccess_firebird_test fails on Mac with the
following message: "Could not find acceptable ICU library" during use
of libfbclient.dylib.

Related patch:

The changes in this matter compared to fb 2.5 is that now the ICU
libraries are linked run time and they are no longer included
directly. The env. variable DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH is used to specify the
location of the libraries during the build. During the build, this is
no problem, because I can specify the absolute path of the ICU libs in
UnpackedTarball.

I guess we cannot export this variable each time fbclient is used,
with the current path to the ICU libs.

I tried to use the macosx-change-install-names tool, and making some
magic rpaths, but I did not succeed yet. Now the install path of
libfbclient.dylib is similar to the other libs' install name in
instdir (checked with otool -D ), but it didn't help.

According to dlopen man page, dlopen looks for the library in path
specified by env. variables or the process working directory. IIUC
these are no options in our case.

So what's the proper way to specify the library location of run time
used ICU libraries for libfbclient.dylib? (possibly it's in the same
directory using LO-bundled ICU in every case)

but I'm not sure I understand it well.
"On Windows 10 LO 5.0.x can access 'liga' and 'kern' feature, but in LO 5.1.1
they are “disabled”, what’s wrong?"
Does it means that version "Windows 10 LO 5.0.x" did NOT have the bug? If so, I
would be happy to retrograde for a while... 
If there is even ONE version of LO, even old, that does NOT have the bug...

since last update of LO under Ubuntu 14.04 the Menu is no longer integrated in
the title-bar of the LO-window, but is separately displayed under the windows
title-bar. screen-shot is attached.  

Same behaviour occurred some days ego after upgrade Ubuntu 14.04 to 16.04. (I
found it so disturbing, that I rolled back to Ubuntu 14.04)

I hope, reintegration of the menu will come soon?

Font color display changes with active spellchecker and window focus (left: no
spellchecker, middle: spellchecker active in focussed window, right:
spellchecker active in defocussed window)

In Calc, when several cells have the same font color and some of the cells
contain words that are not considered correct by the automatic spell checker
and thus are underlined with a red spell checker marking, then the displayed
font color of these cells differs from those with no spell checker markings.

It seems that the color of the marked cells is lighter than regular. This can
is not easy to see with each color - I used "Sky blue 2" to demonstrate the
effect in the screenshots.

Re-applying the font color does not change anything.

The color noticably changes when automatic spell checking is switched on or
off. The colors also seem to differ depending on whether the window is focussed
or not:

- No spell checker active: regular color
- Spell checker active and window has focus: marked cells are displayed in a
lighter color
- Spell checker active and window has no focus: all cells are displayed in a
lighter color

The color change seems to affect the whole line. Neighboring cells are changed
in color, too, even if they are not marked by the spell checker.

This bug seems not to occur in Writer.

Thanks! This problem also exists in 1:5.1.4-0ubuntu1.
It exists with all installed LibreOffice icon themes: Human, Breeze, Galaxy and
Tango.
Gtk controls theme is "Ambiance", a dark theme, and - hooray - the problem
disappears when I change it to a light theme like "Adwaita", "Radiance",
"Numix" and "HighContrast". So this seems to be an issue with dark themes only.
It happens with ltr interface as well, so I change the description of the bug.

Seems that Clang in Xcode 7.3.1 produces broken code with -O2 in some cases

For instance CppunitTest_sw_mailmerge crashes when dbaccess is
compiled with -O2, but works fine with -O1.

Did not bother with any closer checks for Clang version for now in
this branch.

So we need 3 new uno commands for this enhancement.

1) Lines split button (.uno:LinesToolbox) - a duplicate of .uno:ArrowsToolbox
with .uno:Line as the main button and 5 entries per row with .uno:Line and
.uno:Line_Diagonal taking up slots A1 and A2 respectively.

2) Lines group button (.uno:LinesGroup) - opens a menu with .uno:LinesToolbox,
.uno:ArrowsToolbox and .uno:ConnectorToolbox.

3) Shapes group button (.uno:ShapesGroup) - opens a menu with .uno:BasicShapes,
.uno:ArrowShapes, .uno:SymbolShapes, .uno:StarShapes, .uno:CalloutShapes and
.uno:FlowChartShapes, similar to how Insert > Shapes looks.

Version of current dictionary is 2008.12.06. Fortunately there are editors who
constantly take care of base of dictionary. Moreover, they publish their work
under LGPL license and the last release comes from 2016.02, so let's bundle it
to LibreOffice by default!

Michael: From what I understand here, the M's problem here is that LibreOffice
actually does not restart automatically - and the user has to click the Calc
once again.

M: Can you confirm that you are happy if the splash screen appears, disappears,
and appears again (but disables OpenCL silently)?  From the UX point of view,
I'd like to avoid a pop-up with some technicalities of the OpenCL - for most
users it would only be a "ouch, some technical blabla, why they are annoying me
with that".

If you still prefer to have an explanation that OpenCL had to be disabled, then
I think we should do it directly in the Tools -> Options page that has the
OpenCL switch - disable it, and add the explanation of the crash.

Ok, I just found that setting SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen does not exhibit this bug,
but when I put it back to gkt2 (or gtk3), the bug happens again.  The X11 (gen)
interface is pretty awful, but does not lock when the font is changed.  So this
bug seems to be in some way related to GTK.

Now I tried with Hebrew, but still no problem.
In my first try as well, I used SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk3 libreoffice to ensure
GTK3 backend was used.

Yotam: is this thing new in 5.2 or was it the case already in 5.1.5?

Which icon theme and which version of it are you using?

writerfilter: DOCX import: better error handling than "catch (...) {}"
If there is a SAXParseException, OOXMLDocumentImpl::resolve() should not
ignore it,

which would just get you back to silent truncation

The xml is indeed invalid so the problem took place at save, not load. The
docProps/app.xml claims LibreOffice 5.1.4.2 so the generator seems to be us so
apparently at least in that version we have a save bug.

Taking the document and stripping out the invalid tags and resaving it as docs
in 5.1 gives a well formed document so I can't tell what the circumstances are
to reproduce the invalid generation.

Is this a document exported from another source document ?

I can confirm this.

As for the "could not resize the picture" part, yes you can. Right-click on
image, pick "Format image" and under cropping set both width and height to
100%. (you could Shift-drag it from the right side handle as well, but that
would not end up at the right ratio).

Problem: Text came in ok, but picture was rectangle stretching from edge to
edge of document. Could not resize the picture (graphic showing the linux mint
screen).

"Fix": Deleted non-resizable picture and did "copy image" from web page. Pasted
into document. Voila, resizable picture!

System: Linux Mint 17.3,  Cinnamon 64 bit (2.8.8), Kernel 4.4.0-31

Fresh installed Ubuntu 16.04 included Libre office 5.
In the dialogue windows however many (not all) headings in bold character
display as black variable squares, unreadable, making the use of it difficult
or rather impossible.
Using the check-/text-/or scroll-box under the heading can/may change a
readable heading to unreadable.
For me, this is serious and makes the use of Libre office rather impossible.

.uno:Line_Diagonal) are exclusive to impress and draw and it would be useful
