The attached file is rendered correctly by Firefox as a square outlined in blue

it in blue but does not fill it.

This is due to the move SVG path command which follows the close path command
Z. If this move command is removed, the shape is rendered correctly.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 50856] Resizing Start Center window sometimes screws up control locations or background

--- Comment #12 from Roman Eisele b...@eikota.de 2012-06-17 00:25:25 PDT ---
(In reply to comment #11)
I tried to reproduce the bug on windows, but I could not.

I tried the same with LibreOffice 3.5.4.2 (Build ID:
165a79a-7059095-e13bb37-fef39a4-9503d18) on Windows XP -- not reproducible,
everything fine there.

This may mean that it's a problem only on Mac and Linux

I have the same impression. (But we need to stick with the Platform setting
All, because we don't have a special Mac+Linux entry.)

(maybe X.org related? I don't know if Mac OS still uses that)

LibreOffice for MacOS X does not use X11 anymore, but the native Aqua UI;
nevertheless, there may be some common code, because MacOS X is (like Linux) a
Unix-like (unixoide) operating system.

Not a valid Bug Report

@reporter:
Thank you for your report – unfortunately important information is missing.
May be hints on http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport will help you to
find out what information will be useful to reproduce your problem? If you
believe that that is really sophisticated please as for Help on a user mailing
list
Please:
- Write a meaningful Summary describing exactly what the problem is.
It seems we are talking about CHARTs? If yes? I can confirm the problem.
- Attach a sample document (not only screenshot) or refer to an existing
sample document in an other Bug with a link.
- Attach screenshots with comments if you believe that that might explain the
problem better than a text comment. Best way is to insert your screenshots
into a DRAW document and to add comments that explain what you want to show
- Contribute a document related step by step instruction containing every
key press and every mouse click how to reproduce your problem
(similar to example in Bug 43431)
– if possible contribute an instruction how to create a sample document
  from the scratch
- add information
  -- what EXACTLY is unexpected
-- and WHY do you believe it's unexpected (cite Help or Documentation!)
-- concerning your PC (video card, ...)
-- concerning your OS (Version, Distribution, Language)
-- concerning your LibO version (with Build ID if it's not a public release)
and localization (UI language, Locale setting)
–- Libo settings that might be related to your problems
(video hardware acceleration ...)
-- how you launch LibO and how you opened the sample document
–- If you can contribute an AOOo Issue that might be useful
-- everything else crossing your mind after you read linked texts

Even if you can not provide all demanded information, every little new
information might bring the breakthrough.

Thank you very much for your report!

However, in order to find a solution for the problem, we need to reproduce it,
and this is not that easy:

NOT REPRODUCIBLE with LibreOffice 3.5.4.2 (Build ID:
165a79a-7059095-e13bb37-fef39a4-9503d18), German langpack installed, on MacOS X
10.6.8, German UI.

What I have done to test:
1) Start LibreOffice
2) Create a new (empty) Database, save it
3) In the database window, section Database, select Tables
4) In the database window, section Tasks, click on Create Table in Design
View...
5) A new window appears, entitled New Database.odb: Table1 – LibreOffice Base:
Table design.
6) In this window there is a large table with the columns Field Name/Field
Type/Description and with a vertical scroll bar. It is empty at the moment,
but I can scroll it with gestures (i.e., put two fingers on the trackpad and
move them up and/or down to scroll the table).
7) If I add some entries to the large table, I can still scroll the table with
gestures.
= So, for me, everything seems to work as expected. Hm ...

@juliet:
Have I done the right test, i.e., is your report about the same window and the
same table + scroll bar? Do you mean the same gesture? Or am I missing
something?

Do you see the problem with any database, even with an empty one (as I have
tested), or just with one/some specific databases?

Which version of MacOS X do you use?

Thank you very much for your answers in advance!

However, in order to find a solution for the problem reported by you, we need
to reproduce it first. This would be much easier if you could please attach the

Thank you for your report!

REPRODUCIBLE with LibreOffice 3.5.4.2 (Build ID:
165a79a-7059095-e13bb37-fef39a4-9503d18), German langpack installed, on MacOS X
10.6.8 German UI.

To reproduce, start LibreOffice Calc and select (from the menu) Tools
Customize ..., then select the Edit menu, then click Add ... and then
select the Category called Edit.

I get the same results as the original reporter; I will attach a screenshot
confirming this. However, I have to point out:

1) The original reports's screenshot (attachment 62597) shows also two entries
called Paste Special in the list of the Customize window, the 1st one right
after Undo (a very strange place!), the 2nd one at the right position after
Paste. I don't see the 1st Paste special menu item (see my screenshot), and
I think this is not a part of the problem -- it may be just a coincidence from
some playing around with the Add command utility.

2) There is an interesting little difference between the two Paste Special
entries in the list of the Add commands dialog window: the 2nd one has a
description which is shown below (Inserts the contents of the clipboard into
the current file in a format that you can specify.; see my screenshot), but if
I select the 1st Paste Special entry, no such description appears.

3) One could question if this is a but at all. Of course, it is strange that
there are two Paste Special entries in the list of the Add commands dialog
window, but who has said that there should be a Paste unformatted text entry?
One could think Maybe this is a missing feature, but not a bug.

But we can easily show that there is really a bug or at least an inconsistency
here, because this Paste Unformatted Text entry is missing only in Calc (and
in Impress), but it is present in Writer. See my 2nd screenshot: Writer allows
to add a special Paste unformatted text menu item; and my 3rd screenshot for
Impress.

Summary:
* Writer offers Paste, Paste Special, Paste Unformatted Text.
* Calcoffers Paste, Paste Special, Paste Special (2 times!)
* Impress offers Paste, Paste Special.

Given the fact that Writer offers both Paste Special and Paste unformatted
text items in the list of the Add commands dialog window, and no 2nd Paste
Special item, it seems reasonable to speek of both an inconsistency (there is
a Paste unformatted text in Writer, but neither in Calc nor in Impress) and
of a bug (the 2nd and useless Paste Special item in Calc should probably be a
Paste unformatted text item like in Writer).

I have changed the Component field of this bug report to Spreadsheet to
make clear that we are talking about a Calc issue.

For the missing item in Impress, we should file a separate report, probably an
enhancement request.

The FLOSS exception is for the client library; in the current context, the

Problem description:
I have numbered list. All letteres i make 14 size.
But some numbers are 12 size. And i can't choose and edit it. When i delete the
number, previous list number become 12. If i delete list, it doesn't help. When
i choose all and make 14 font size, it doesn't hepl.
I pasted to this list some 12 and 10 font size lines, but after i changed them
to 14. How can office remember this size if i choose all and make 14 size?
Steps to reproduce:
1. Make big list with 14 font size
2. Paste some 12 font size lines (i'm not sure, it is because of pasting)
3. Make them 14 size

Current behavior:

Expected behavior:
I can change list number font size manually.

When opening an empty CSV file, the file does not get opened correctly. Instead
binary data is inserted into the file and also saved on the Harddisk. Here is
an example how to reproduce the problem:

 touch empty.csv
 libreoffice empty.csv

Click on Text CSV
The import dialog shows random garbage.
Click abort.
 cat empty.csv

The file has been filed with random binary data.

Reducing the Report to 1 problem

Premium (64bit) ENGLISH UI [Build ID: 5af60dc] (tinderbox: Win-x86@6-fast,

Always when any custom animation is running lines and areas loose transparency
for a moment.

More or less the same wiht LibO 3.3.3 and OOo 3.2, so this seems to be
inherited from OOo.

But I can't reproduce the effect with a new presentation from the scratch.
Copying one of the yellow rectangles to that new presentation reproduces the
effect, but

@reporter:
Is there any history behind the document we should know? Can you contribute an
instruction how to reproduce the effect with a new presentation?

Problem description:
In a table cell the tab doesn't line up with the tabstop in the ruler.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a table with two cells
2. In the right most cell put a tab character
3. In the right most cell add a tab stop and some text

Current behavior:
Tab stop is applied at (say) 10cm.
Text wraps off the end of the cell and onto the next line.
This is because the tabstop distance starts at the start of the cell.
As a workaround, manually setting a tabstop at 2cm gets the desired behaviour.

Expected behavior:
The text should line up with the tabstop marker

When I browse through the top level menus under 3.6.0 Beta1 the highlight
colour is not cleared. After clicking on any top level item (e.g. File) and
then moving the cursor over the other top level menu, they all become coloured
with the highlight colour (instead of reverting to the non-highlight menu
colour)

This occurs under Windows XP SP3 x86 en_US and pt_PT.

I observed this in the official Beta1 but it is not fixed in the nightly (Build
ID: 70ed7be)

OK, we don't really convert correctly the charsets for visio 2000 and 2002
file-format. We only recently reverse-engineered how this is stored and did not
yet have the time to implement it.

I would discourage the use of random extensions. It would be much better to
help a bit to extend libvisio capacities. We have the conversion tables for all
MS codepages (apart the CJK ones that are a bit more complicated) and if
someone has some time, I would not mind to explain what to do.

This is being downgraded from a major bug as it's really not. I'm assigning it
as a trivial bug as it's just dealing with keyboard shortcuts. The general
guideline I follow is a major bug MUST deal with something critical such as
memory leak, cpu hog, etc...something as minor as a keyboard shortcut issue
isn't a major bug. I'm putting it as TRIVIAL-Low (vs. lowest) because I think
it affects enough people to constitute low.

I'm also marking as NEW as it's a confirmed bug

cause system issues (such as loss of data or crashes). We do what we can with

This is not a bug. As Olivier already mentioned we changed the encryption
algorithm in Libreoffice 3.5 and new encrypted files can't be opened with
versions older than LO 3.4.5 or AOO 3.4.

Sorry guys but the encryption thing is a red herring. It happens on unencrypted
sheets too - as far as I can tell, anything larger than about 100K when saved
and it happens every time. The tell-tale sign for me was a 145K spreadsheet
shrinking to 136K, and it was 100% of the time, completely reliable.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 50920] BadAtom crash when pasting data from Wolfram Mathematica

2012-06-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=50920

--- Comment #1 from Ruslan b7.10110...@gmail.com 2012-06-17 17:23:18 PDT ---
OK, after some debugging it appears that BadAtom is most likely generated with
all VCL plugins, but only GTK aborts on such an error.
Namely, the process goes like this http://pastebin.com/WdrB4fyE on GTK, and
like this http://pastebin.com/Wzk3qqKK on KDE4. Notice the difference: trying
to get atom name... refers to getString(*pAtoms) in X11_selection.cxx, and it
appears unnoticed (doesn't return any string though) on KDE4 and leads to
abort() on GTK.
So, this is most likely broken in X11-specific part, not GTK one.

I'm downgrading this as it clearly is not a CRITICAL bug. Please try to be more
accurate while stating the importance of bugs. CRITICAL bugs mean that it
causes some major issue with your system examples might include loss of data,
inability to save, or inability to install. When people overstate their bugs
like this is makes it much harder for our team to sort through the bugs.

I'm marking this as a Minor - Low bug.

The bug doesn't prevent users from making high quality work and doesn't damage
files nor affect ability to use LO.

Problem description: check if an instance of libo is running before
installation starts. it's annoying to see the message which ask me to finish an
existing instance of libreoffice and try again installation AFTER I waited
around 10min to see installation start and fail soon.

Steps to reproduce:
1. start an installation running another instance of libreoffice (including
beta)
2. wait some minutes
3. the dialog appears which ask me to finish that instance and try again

Current behavior:

Expected behavior: reasonable for the installer to ask me to finish an instance
BEFORE it tries in vain to install the program. Thanks in advance.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51186] New: Line spacing should be able to take input in points whatever the general measurement unit

Classification: Unclassified

  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: samj...@gmail.com

There are three non-proportional line spacing settings in LO Writer -- At
least, Leading and Fixed.

In my experience with word processors, whatever be the selected general unit of
measurement, whenever we want to set any of these line-spacing settings, we
want to set them in points. currently the application only accepts input in
whatever global unit of measurement is set. However this is not appropriate for
line spacing as we are able to better relate the line spacing in point size to
the font point size.

Currently my default measurement unit is inches, as I find it most convenient.
But certainly for line spacing inputting in inches is very awkward (even
incomprehensible) for me at least.

Since Choice is Good (TM) at least provide a combobox to select whatever unit
we want for these three line spacings.
