It might be in the general configuration files of the program, or else in the user profile. There will also be a lock file on the ODB stored somewhere in the users profile or on his desktop, which may be hidden (so not visible by default in file explorer). You would need to activate the Display Hidden Files option in Windows Explorer in order to be able to see it. If this file exists, it will have a flag set that triggers the autorecovery (I think). Find the hidden file, and remove it. Then try : 1) Stopping the quickstarter and any related soffice processes. 2) Renaming or moving the user profile 3) Restarting LO. The same with the DB creation script, any queries and any forms that you might have saved within the ODB container file. The DATA file is binary. In order to re-use it, you would have to create an empty new ODB file, then close LO, unzip the new file and replace your data and structure and query files with the ones saved from your crashed db. I know how what effects in Spreadsheet you expect and how to reproduce the problem. But I can't imagine any application in real life for what that should be necessary or useful. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51650] New: EDITING: Impress freezes when adding text to an empty manual broken line
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51650 Bug #: 51650 Summary: EDITING: Impress freezes when adding text to an empty manual broken line Classification: Unclassified Product: LibreOffice Version: 3.5.3 release Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Presentation AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org ReportedBy: ralf.woh...@conrad.de When using manual line breaks (Shift+Return) and keeping a line in the end empty, then deleting an other line and trying to edit the empty last line (which my boss does :) ), LO/OOo freezes. CPU stays down. Steps to reproduce: - Open a new (or saved) Impress document. - Edit the big text area (does not happen with the title) and enter: asd Shift-Return asd Shift-Return so you have 2 text lines and one empty line - Move the cursor to line 1, select and delete the line (Pos1, Shift+End, Del, Del ... it won't happen when using Shift+Down, Del) - Move the cursor to the empty line in the end and press a letter. Actual Results: Impress freezes (does nothing any more, not even repaint the page when moved offscreen and back). Expected Results: Text should appear on the empty line. A linux strace shows the same as starting on the console: *** glibc detected *** /usr/lib/libreoffice/program/soffice.bin: realloc(): invalid next size: 0x02d1d630 *** (The Hex value varies) Obviously there's a problem with text:line-break/ tags followed by an empty text:span text:style-name=T1/ in the end when deleting a line before. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51636 --- Comment #8 from yan...@safe-mail.net 2012-07-02 07:55:12 PDT --- (In reply to comment #7) I'm very sorry, but (of course) I'm not able to read anyone's mind why she/he needs this feature in an application. What I try to build with it is certainly an exotic application for a limited number of users. But nobody knows how many other users (private commercial) have been faced with this problem making their work harder or they saw, that it's impossible to hit the aim (of her/himself or her/his boss ...) ... and didn't report the bug or found another (much more labour-intensive) solution. I can see this feature in many applications, where sheetbuilder care about flexibility and on-the-fly error-workaround without the need to handover the actual work to a helpdesk for hours, days or weeks. In most times, commercial users need a solution, or at least a workaround for their specific problem a.s.a.p. (own experiences at work). If this is not enough to push the priority to a level, where the waiting time for a fix drops under a year, we all have to live with that. I'm aware that hundreds of other issues may be more important than this in the subjective view of their reporters. The only thing I know is, that this bug is known for years now. (early OO times) Discussions about that can be found asking uncle google ... If you think I'm some impolite, I'm very sorry but my english is not the best and I personally have the view of a slightly disappointed user. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51663 Bug #: 51663 Summary: LibreOffice quits silently (crashes) on Windows XP at startup with %APPDATA% Folder Redirection enabled since LibreOffice 3.5.0 Classification: Unclassified Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Platform: x86 (IA32) OS/Version: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: medium Component: UI AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org ReportedBy: donzoo...@zoomik.pri.ee Created attachment 63720 -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=63720 Dependency Walker log for 3.5.4 We are running a mix of XP and 7. We were upgrading from 3.4.3 to 3.5.4 and LibreOffice broke on XP machines for users with Folder Redirection enabled. It works fine with Windows 7, with or without folder redirection. We normally use transform to disable some features but for this we tested with and without transforms, Active Directory deployment and manual install. Tested versions: 3.4.3 - OK 3.4.6 - OK 3.5.0 - Broken 3.5.4 - Broken 3.6.0 B2 - Broken The application starts up on 3.5 (no GUI shows up), memory use grows to about 50MB and it works for ~30-60 seconds with some CPU use and it quits. There is no error in Event Log. It creates this folder path (domain name changed): \\domain.com\UserData$\UserProfiles\testuser1\Application Data\LibreOffice\3\user\extensions\bundled Pay attention that this is the only folder path in LO profile. There are no other folders or files whatsoever! This is specific to 3.5.4 Then soffice.exe quits without error message. 3.6.0 and 3.5.0 create extensions.db and registry under bundled. Bundled has 7 folders (com. extensions) with some files. Otherwise it's the same - soffice quits silently after some time. Attached is Dependancy Walker log for 3.5.4. Other versions are similar with the same eventual error. It shows that LO is repeadedly requesting SHGetSpecialFolderPath (%APPDATA% path?). After trying for a while it quits with: Second chance exception 0xE06D7363 (Microsoft C++ Exception) occurred in c:\windows\system32\KERNEL32.DLL at address 0x7C812AFB by thread 1. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
