[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 61982] Make the remote useful for presenations containing animations

2013-03-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61982

--- Comment #1 from Michal Sylwester msylwes...@gmail.com ---
It is actually possible to advance by animation using volume buttons. Still, I
think it should be possible also using the screen (touch current slide to
advance or similar).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 45705] UI: Shortcuts for Zoom in, Zoom out and Zoom to 100 %

2013-03-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45705

--- Comment #8 from brian.bj.parke...@gmail.com ---
In Mac OS X, CMD+ and CMD- are the standard keyboard commands for zooming
across all applications, and it is quite disorienting to have otherwise in
LibreOffice.
As a special case for OS X, these shortcuts should be used (I believe they do
not clash with anything else). (In particular, Draw currently
counter-intuitively uses shift-+ and - to zoom).

 Component: Libreoffice

There are many uses of compareTo, like str1.compareTo(str2) == 0 which can be
replaced with there better understandable equivalents str1 == str2 or
str1.equals(str2).

Here are two grep statements to find some of them:

git grep '\.compareTo\s*([^)]*)\s*==\s\(0\|COMPARE_EQUAL\)'

- lhs.Name.compareTo(rhs) == 0

git grep '\(0\|COMPARE_EQUAL\)\s*==\s*[a-zA-Z0-9]\+\.compareTo\s*([^)]*)'

- 0 == url.compareTo( EXPAND_PROTOCOL : )

Those could be replaced with str1 == str2. There are many other uses like
with != and more. If you need help to find them or to adapt the grep statements
please ask me!

I can reproduce this bug too, with LO 4.0.1.2 on Win 7.

No need to restart LibO though. If you choose Hierarchy and double-press F11,
the list is automatically set up to the last setting you used that is not
Hierarchy.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47018] EDITING Copying text with non default bullets corrupts presentation, ultimately crashes Impress

2013-03-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47018

--- Comment #13 from Stephan van den Akker stephanv...@gmail.com ---
I have been investigating the cause of this crash for some time now, and these
are my findings so far:

The immediate cause of the crash is in

file:/cui/source/tabpages/numpages.cxx
method: SvxNumOptionsTabPage::InitControls()

This method is called every time the user opens the numbering options tab page.

In this method the local variable nLvl is used as an index into local variable
aNumFmtArr[SVX_MAX_NUM], a vector of pointers.

On valid input:

SvxNumOptionsTabPage::pActNum-GetLevelCount() = 10

in a for-loop the local variable sal_uInt16 nLvl is set to the 0-based index of
the Numbering Level chosen by the user

On invalid input (after the botched copying of a bulleted text line, see my OP)

SvxNumOptionsTabPage::pActNum-GetLevelCount() = 0

the for-loop is skipped: nLvl = USHRT_MAX (= initialisation value)

nLvl is then used as an index into local variable aNumFmtArr[SVX_MAX_NUM], a
vector of pointers.
On my home system:
SVX_MAX_NUM = 10
USHRT_MAX = 65535

USHRT_MAX SVX_MAX_NUM, so LibreOffice segfaults because of the out-of-bounds
index.

Maybe SvxNumOptionsTabPage::InitControls() could be adapted to allow for this
kind of invalid input by doing some kind of range check, but that is not what I
propose. I want to find the real cause of this invalid input, and that is in
the code that does the copying and pasting. More on that in a later post.

I confirm,
This happens also if you use a named range (Insert Names Define) or enter a
cell range (like A1:A2)
Tested with:
Version 4.0.1.2 (Build ID: 84102822e3d61eb989ddd325abf1ac077904985)
Vista-32b
Notice that usually I found the crash when using this command for the 2nd time

The crash is still there on the master correcting the bug 58630:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 62102] New: CONFIGURATION: Small capitals unavailable as toolbar button

2013-03-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon

  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: elgos...@hotmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.1.2 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description: I can’t seem to find the Small capitals button for
toolbars. I’d like to add it right next to Bold and Italic in my Format
toolbar.

Steps to reproduce (I’m not sure if i’m using the right words since i’m not
using the english version) :
1. Right-click on a toolbar, choose Customize toolbar
2. Click on Add, search everywhere for the Small capitals option.
3. Fail to find it.

Current behavior: Small capitals unavailable as a button for toolbars.

Expected behavior: Small capitals available as a button for toolbars, in the
Format category, if possible with a nice icon :)

I remind that proper centuries number (for example : the XIXth century) must be
typed in small capitals. Therefore, small capitals are to be used very often,
which is why a button would be very useful.

  Reporter: johan...@gmail.com
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.1.1 rc
 Component: Localization
   Product: LibreOffice

The package manager from ArchLinux reports that the catalan language pack has
conflicting files with the spanish language pack.

These are the affected files:
/usr/lib/libreoffice/share/extensions/dict-an/LICENSES-en.txt
/usr/lib/libreoffice/share/extensions/dict-an/META-INF/manifest.xml
/usr/lib/libreoffice/share/extensions/dict-an/an_ES.aff

/usr/lib/libreoffice/share/extensions/dict-an/description.xml
/usr/lib/libreoffice/share/extensions/dict-an/dictionaries.xcu

I reported the bug to the ArchLinux maintaniers, but told me that they only
repackage the official RPMs and that I should report this upstream.

Hello Jacques

Thanks for your quick answer.

I tested refresh. Unfortunately it has no effect. Nothing happens.

After changing the number format manually and pressing refresh the original
(wrong) format comes back.
All other format conditions (which I have tested), e.g. background color, work
just fine. It's only the numbers format.

Cheers,
Thomas

I think that the thumbnails should be handled by the file browser cache
(Nautilus, Dolphin, Windows file explorer, ...) instead of storing it into the
LibreOffice document.

Storing a thumbnail :
- increases storage size (data backups, documents exchange through a network,
...)
- increases cpu usage (slow downs saving/reading a file, increases energy
consumption, ...)

I have experienced this bug many times with version 3.5 under Kubuntu x86_64
(11.10 - 12.04). I will try to reproduce it with 4.0.1 but the problem is that
it seems to happen almost randomly. In order to reproduce it (in my case) with
the latest stable version one should use the latest stable very frequently,
which is not my case since I use the version provided by Ubuntu repositories
becasue I need stability for my work (and recent issues concerning 4.0 version
keeps me away from it)
Does somebody know if there is any way to easily test it, or induce a bug? :-/

Effect:

Path and Filename are put into brackets, # before sheet reference lost
It does not matter to what filetype (.ods, .xls, .xlsx) the link leads.

Still reproducible with LibO 3.6.5 (my tests) and 4.0.1.2

There must be some different information. When I create a report, set page to
A5, set page-header with some text and page-footer with page-number it works.
Without example-database or more details about grouping and group-header and
group-footer I could not confirm this bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 62031] FORMATTING: Insert - Row fails with error message

2013-03-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62031

Excuse the irritation but when a person who should know better starts by saying
that what I experience is impossible and I am looking at the error it becomes,
to put it mildly, frustrating. And yes, I know that all caps is yelling but
your man committed the cardinal sin of a programer -- I have 40+ years of IT
though I no longer do programing -- denying that a user has a software problem
even though it may be unique. The old Microsoft approach of denying that
problems exist should have by now been dead and buried.

I have been using my browser to reply and unless I am provided a separate email
I can only respond to the one I receive.

I'll try all your suggestions before I switch to the prior version.

A suggestion, when testing a new version it may be a very good idea to test it
with Windows Vista as well as XP, 7 and 8; this because logging the bug on your
website did not allow selecting Vista, only the OSs mentioned. I do not like
Vista but I have some legacy software containing critical data that I do not
wish to risk as the last time I changed OS it took me 36 hours to restore and
recapture data from external HDDs.

One more bit of information, the failure to insert a row did not occur at the
beggining or even two-thirds of the way through as I had inserted both rows and
columns while loading the data and creating simple formulas manually. It began
after I had saved and closed the spreadsheet, returning the next day as I
remembered that I needed to track some additional data. In that interim I ran
an anti-viral scan of the HDD; COMODO Internet Security found three suspicious
items in the TEMP and DOWNLOAD files of the Win OS which I deleted as neither
location should affect operations. They looked to be left over from the Libre
Office update which I had done a few days prior. Other than the problem with
inserting rows the spreadsheet works, even to inserting columns. Please look at
the error message as it appears to communicate that when attempting to insert
it tries to extend the data beyond the sheet selected whereas this is a simple
one sheet 13 x 29 spreadsheet.
TY,
Amos

@Challengnow: First off, Rainer said that you can re-open the bug. No
need to
scream at him for that (writing in caps is considered screaming).

Next: I cannot reproduce this problem on the mac. That of course does not say
it's not reproducible on windows.

You write you use LO 4.0.0.3. Could you please try LO 4.0.1.2 from
http://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If you still encounter the issue, can you test if you can create a sample
spreadsheet that you could post for devs to reproduce this problem (asking that
because you write that the spreadsheet you use contains sensitive data).

Also you could try saving it under a different file name. Then in the new file
remove all info. Retry. if you then still encounter the issue, attach that
file.

Last: please use your browser for replies. Otherwise your mails will clutter
the bug tracker.

Thanks :)

Windows XP Professional SP3

Could not reproduce with new 29x13 random data sheet.

(In reply to comment #7)
unless you want me to send the spreadsheet
itself which I cannot do as it contains proprietary information.

Please replace its content
(https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA-FAQ#How_to_eliminate_confidential_data_from_sample_document)
and attach a file if this bug can be still reproduced with changed data. In
that case please reopen this bug report to allow others to check on different
system/build.

Sample document shows unexpected error message, but it's not a bug

Of course I can construct documents showing your error message unexpectedly,
for example attached document (open document and try to insert a row after
having selected all row 15). But that's not a bug.

I managed to hang LibreOffice 4.0.0.2 with this file and the only way to close
the application was to kill it (after few minutes of not responding).
To reproduce just try to go to the end of the sheet by CTRL+Arrow Down
combination.
All good in 3.6.5.2 (last row of the sheet is displayed instantly).
This is obviously a regression bug to file in a separate report.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 60921] FILEOPEN odf documents fails with document corrupted message

2013-03-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60921

Today I downloaded 4.0.1.2 and tested on both Win7 machines.

Desktop: first failed with 4.0. Installed 3.6.5 then upgraded to 4.0 and it
worked. Uninstalled 4.0 in order to change directory name to unversioned as
it's clear I can't have parallel installs as planned. Installed 4.0.1.2 with
same options as before. Opens test file just fine. So, either uninstall and
reinstall works same as upgrade, or 4.0.1 fixes, but can't tell which.

Laptop: Had a 4.0.0.3 install with no prior versions which failed to open all
test files. Attempted upgrade to 4.0.1, result: couldn't open LibreOffice at
all, long error that basically said 'go reinstall'. Uninstalled LO completely,
installed 4.0.1.2 with same options and the the help pack. It can open the test
files.

Conclusion... I have no idea if 4.0.1 fixes it as both ended up being a
uninstall/reinstall scenario and I have no more fresh Win7 boxes to install LO
4.0.1 on to test the totally fresh install scenario.

JN: things installed on Win7 before LO4 were windows updates and drivers (AMD
monster chipset and video package), ClamWin AV (set not to interfere, just
log), ClassicShell, WinRAR, FAR, Firefox, Opera, SumatraPDF, VLC, XviD,
AC3filter, FFDshow, etc.
