Bug 42000 is still reproducible. This is rather a specific issue regarding
accents.

Bug 60267 seems to be fixed for the moment.

  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: stephane.guil...@gmail.com

Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.3.3 release
 Component: Chart
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:
Export for single graph has been implemented in LO 4.0, but SVG format appears
as a function and it is not implemented in this branch.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a chart
2. Right-click on it and select Export...
3. Choose SVG format from list and save

Current behavior:
It creates a file that does not contain anything.

Expected behavior:
This option should not appear in the list as it is known it does not work. It
makes the user think something is broken.

Note that this might be the case with other formats (I have not tried every
single one).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 65229] New: superscript element in formula shifts formula baseline

2013-06-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=65229

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 65229
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: superscript element in formula shifts formula baseline
  Severity: minor
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: yury.tarasiev...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: NEW
   Version: 4.0.1.2 release
 Component: Formula Editor
   Product: LibreOffice

In formulas, if any superscript element is used, even an empty one (^{}) the
formula's baseline is shifted down, by small but quite visible amount. That
produces an unpleasant, sloppy look, especially if similar glyphs are used both
in formula and text, in the same line.

Proof: sample document with three formulas and part of the screenshot, with
another window titlebar (reddish block) serving as a ruler. The 1st formula has
real superscript (^+{}) and is shifted down, the 2nd has no superscript --
and is positioned correctly w/r to the baseline, the 3rd has empty superscript
(^{}) and is shifted down.

Line spacing setting (default of 5%) in formula editor has no effect on
this, this is obviously an added extra, produced somewhere in rendering code.

With respect to the clickable issue, I guess it comes down to how a field that
has no content (point) is expected to behave. I must confess that I am not sure
about this. It may be worthwhile consulting OASIS about the ODF specification
and how they see this particular matter being interpreted / implemented. In any
case, I have made my point, so will leave it with you.

--- Comment #1 from Yury yury.tarasiev...@gmail.com ---
If superscript sizes are changed in font sizes in Formula Editor, this
affects the rendering output, making it perceptibly smaller (?!), at least for
the capitals, w/r to the text rendered with superscript size being the only
difference.

The sample doc contains text in 'CMU Serif', all formula fonts in 'CMU Serif',
with *text* superscripts at 70%, the right formula has superscripts at 70%, the
left -- at 60%, and the capital A in it is rendered perceptibly smaller.

Thanks Andrew, I did not know that, but I can understand how this could be an
issue in terms of the English word Figure being non-specific / generic. In
the related bug I pointed to in comment #2 I provide some information pulled
from style guides. It is noteworthy that the Oxford Guide to Style 2002 makes a
point of mentioning how Figure should be avoided in puplications where
confusion between numbers and illustrations may result e.g., mathematical
works.

In any case, I realise that the matter presented in this bug (preserving the
link) is a separate issue. Adding myself to the CC list.

Hi,

Thanks for reporting!
But exactly the same behavior is already reported in Bug 59083 , which is
marked as duplicate of bug 60137.

Especially see this comment:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60137#c7

and this one: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60137#c13

So, big chance the fix can't be backported to 4.0, so only fixed in 4.1 and
following versions.

Kind regards,

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 62355] Formula objects with widehat/widevector in Writer have wrong size, top of the hat/vector is cropped

2013-06-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62355

--- Comment #8 from Yury yury.tarasiev...@gmail.com ---
Even the simplest use of combining diacritics like {hat A} or {tilde A} *by
means of formula editor catalog* might go wrong.

The BIG problem is glyphs accessed via catalog (tilde, hat etc.) are taken
from the Open Symbol face, included in LibO out-of-the-box (at least on
Linux). And so, certain combinations of glyph heights of body text face and
Open Symbol diacritics just go wrong.

E.g., Open Symbol diacritics combine well with Gentium Plus capitals, but
no so well with Linux Libertine O capitals. So not every font face is
actually usable in Formula Editor!

IF one changes the catalog face from Open Symbol to something else (in
Tools-Options-Fonts dialog), one is not out of the woods yet. There is
another, related problem, which *probably* merits another ticket: formula
renderer assumes (?) the combining diacritics in the catalog face do not
actually combine. Or something. The fact is some combinations of faces are
rendered with diacritics far to the left of the glyph over which it ought to be
placed.

I'm attaching the sample doc, all set in Gentium Plus, and TWO screenshots,
rendered (1) with font substitution Open Symbol-Gentium Plus AND (2) without
such substitution.
The doc contains: (1) plain text A {tilde A} equivalent (shows the correct
tilde placement); (2.1) formula A {tilde A}, with Gentium Plus tilde (not
so correct placement); (2.2) same formula with Open Symbol tilde (not correct
at all).

Hi Frédéric, thanks for taking the time to post this improvement suggestion.

Talked to Jorendc in QA. We agreed that, despite this being a very nice
feature, there's not too much improvement for the LO project. There's been very
few release blocker bugs overall.

The depends on and blocker status as well as the MAB (most annoying bugs)
system is currently sufficient. Also the team managing the FDO development is
very busy already.

Thus setting this to WONTFIX.

Hi Janek,
thanks for the issue.
I think it is a setiting, though.
Can you have a look at
Tools Options Calc View ... section Visual Aid
there you can choose how it behaves.
In LibreOffice it's possible to set how it works in OOo and how it works in
Excel ;)

Closing as not a bug...
if it's something else, feel free to reopen. But then pls provide a test file
too.
Cheers - Cor

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 48250] Impress crashes when trying to dock the Task Pane

2013-06-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48250

--- Comment #12 from Jorendc joren.libreoff...@telenet.be ---
I can not reproduce this behavior using Mac OSX 10.8.3 with LibreOffice 4.1.0
beta 1.

I'm going to ask a second opinion/independent test for this one.
I think we now have some annoying other behavior: when you undock the task bar,
and restart LibreOffice, the taskbar is gone. You have to disable the task bar
via View Task bar, and re-enable it. I'll report that in a new bug report.

Kind regards,
Joren

Works for me.

In LO 4.1b1 and OS X 10.8.3 all is fine. Docking, undocking, re-docking etc pp
and playing a bit with the Task toolbox all works fine.

--- Comment #2 from Owen Genat owen.ge...@gmail.com ---
I have updated the title of this bug to more accurately reflect the fact that
it relates to the Endnote page style and an inability to set a multi-column
layout. I believe the reason why this does not work is because endnotes rely on
a section definition (same as Insert Section...). The section facility is
also used to define columnar layout (where to start / stop). Setting the
endnotes themselves in a columnar layout would require placing the notes in a
separate section, rather than at the end of a section.

Well, if you have a look at the Styles.xml inside your document. As you can
see, no alignment (centering, as you can see in your LibreOffice 3.6.4 pdf
export) or bolding is applied.

style:style style:name=Standard style:family=paragraph
style:class=textstyle:paragraph-properties fo:orphans=0 fo:widows=0
fo:hyphenation-ladder-count=no-limit
style:writing-mode=lr-tb/style:text-properties
style:use-window-font-color=true style:font-name=Arial1 fo:font-size=12pt
fo:language=el fo:country=GR style:letter-kerning=true
style:font-name-asian=Times New Roman style:font-size-asian=12pt
style:language-asian=zh style:country-asian=CN
style:font-name-complex=Arial1 style:font-size-complex=10pt
style:language-complex=hi style:country-complex=IN fo:hyphenate=false
fo:hyphenation-remain-char-count=2
fo:hyphenation-push-char-count=2//style:style

This is definately the style style that is applied to your first sentence
(header (not the style, but the header of you document :-) ):

text:p text:style-name=Standardtext:span
text:style-name=T1Εγκατάσταση/text:spantext:span text:style-name=T3
/text:spantext:span text:style-name=T1του/text:spantext:span

text:style-name=T3 /text:spantext:span
text:style-name=T113/text:span/text:ptext:p
text:style-name=Text_20_body ... etc

So, looks to me a wrong rendering in LibreOffice 3.6.4. I don't have a version
of LibreOffice, but doing a bibisect shows me that 3.5.0 renders the document
also as it is rendered now with 4.0.3 and 3.6.6.

@Bug reporter: I recommend you to upgrade to 4.0.X which you can download here:
http://www.libreoffice.org/download or if you have a Linux Distro (Ubuntu,
Mint, ...) that can handle PPA you can use this one:
https://launchpad.net/~libreoffice/+archive/libreoffice-4-0

Kind regards,
Joren

Oh, that's annoying! Thanks for reporting!

I can reproduce this using Linux Mint 15 x64 with LibreOffice 4.0.3.3

Kind regards,
Joren

Just to confirm, tried to open them in the current version offered for download
on the front page (4.0.3.3) and they both crash the application.

Downloaded daily build
libreoffice-4-0~2013-05-27_17.11.10_LibO-Dev_4.0.4.0_MacOS_x86.dmg. Opened the
sample documents in that build and they open without issue.

I agree with Linux, but I think this is rather an enhancement request then a
bug. It is designed to set spacing between _everything_, so not a bug as in
doesn't work.

Marking this one as NEW.

Kind regards,
Joren

Nice catch Christina, I've just reverted that commit locally and it isn't
reproducible anymore.

I assign it to Caolán so he can decide what to do

Thanks mariosv !

I can reproduce this one using Linux Mint 15 x64 with LibreOffice Version:
4.2.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID: 467d5e0a2e074ff2afb4d1b1a37cff2094b0895

Therefore I mark this one as NEW. Highest Blocker looks a bit overkill to me.
IMO this should not block the release of 4.1. Iherefore I'm going to mark this
as critical/high. I hope you agree with that?

@Markus: looks quite serious to me, as a calc-noob :). Any thoughts?

Kind regards,
Joren
