The bug is relatively new, I think it appearead in LO 4.1 and it might have been activated by a recent change in a library. LibreOffice crashes when save or open window is opened (e.g. by save as) and the mouse is being moved. Frequently the crash happens right after the first movement, sometimes you have to wait longer. It seems to me that the crash is related to movement over different widgets in the window. I have not observed this bug in other applications using the same open/save windows (in particular, they work fine for Kile 2.1.3). Steps to reproduce: 1. Start LO. 2. Select save as or open. 3. The problem is the most frequent for PDF files with their original main content treated as an image located in the center of the page. I attach an exemplary file saved as ODG. If you add an object (e.g. a rectangle) over this image, and then you want to edit e.g. its filling color, you right-click this object and select area. Then, frequently appears an empty window, i.e. just th frame with nothing inside. I attach an exemplary screenshot. This windows also blocks refreshing of the LO Draw window, if you place any other window over it the mess stays until you close the property edition window. Other properties (Line etc.) are also affected. It seems that this problem does not cause any crash. The probability seems to depend on zoom, sizes and point of clicking. When I move such object out of the page, I am able to edit properties with no problems. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open a PDF with an image content. 2. Draw an object on that image. 3. Zoom, right click the object, select a property for edition. Current behavior: There appears only the window frame, with no contents. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72262 --- Comment #14 from Ortwin Glück o...@odi.ch --- What is doesn't fully work; how to check? KDE performs all sorts of checks when enabling Desktop Effects (= compositing). By that I mean that KDE decides to disable Desktop effects because because it decided that the OpenGL support is insufficient or too slow. If you tell me *which* desktop effect to switch, i could try. It's not specific effects. It's compositing itself. That's what Ctrl+Alt+F12 toggles. The KDE config setting does not change at all, if i switch with Ctrl+Alt+F12. The config only tells KDE what you want. Not whether compositing is actually turned on or even working. Also the config is not affected by the hotkey. Compositing is toggled on the fly by the hotkey. And yes, working menues and the red shiny frame around the window appear together. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 71940] Formatting - Conditional changes inappropriately and creates additional rules when it should not
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=71940 --- Comment #15 from Aprax r...@jwcca.com --- The problem also occurs when doing a copy/paste within the same sheet. 1) A rules exists for a range A2:B1048576 (i.e. no real upper limit will ever be reached) 2) data exists in cells A2:B600 3) copy cells A540:B540 to A551:B551. 4) there are new rules and the old rule has been changed, by the program. The program creates new rules that are exactly the same, it's just that after awhile the list gets very convoluted/messy and it's a pain to have to clean it up afterwards. Surely someone (a dev) can create their own spreadsheet, add rules that span several columns and many rows and then do the copy/paste step and see that the rules have been changed by the program. And then fix the problem. Otherwise it makes Conditional Formatting less of a feature and more of an example of how free software is disorganized, not fully tested before release and less than professional. I assume that the unconfirmed status means that no one is looking at this. When will it be changed to assigned? [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 71940] Formatting - Conditional changes inappropriately and creates additional rules when it should not
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=71940 --- Comment #17 from Aprax r...@jwcca.com --- You're correct in that copy/paste only [text | number | formula] does not alter the rules or create split rules that contain the same conditions. Put another way, with a Range from row 2 to row 1048576, the conditions are clearly the same and there's no need to end up with multiple rules for different ranges that have identical conditions. If the two columns have different content, one has text the other numbers, it then requires two copy/paste only steps, one for text and one for number. Using Paste Special, and limiting the characteristics to only Text and Numbers, there's even more steps, one to untick the default Paste All and a second click to select Numbers and 5 more clicks to untick the other options (format, formula, etc.). My point is that copy/paste of cell contents within a single range should not create multiple rules, especially when the Rule box/window is not re-sizable. Please verify the integrity of the installer. You have two ways to achieve that: 1. Right-click on the file in Explorer, choose 'Properties', open 'Digital Signatures' tab, and click on 'Details'. You should get a new windows with the text 'This digital signature is OK.'. If it's not the case, or you don't have the 'Digital Signatures' tab at all, then your installation file is corrupted. 2. You can also compare the hash of your file, with the one from libreoffice.org. In order to see the correct hashes, you should click on the 'Info' link that located at the bottom of the big green download button (near 'Torrent' link). If your installation file is indeed corrupted, you should try to download it again. If it won't help, you should try another mirror (If you click on the 'Info' link, you'll get a list of mirrors). When using the automatic sum, if data are nearby their cell ranges are usually inserted by default. Now however this insertion if very often - but not always - totally wrong. Steps to reproduce: I'm still struggling to find out a fully deterministic, reproducible mechanism for this, it seems to happen about 1/3 of the times. The file I am attaching shows a simple mechanism of sum insertions and the ugly outcome: - type 1 in A1 and move to A2 - insert an automatic sum in A2, then press return and move to A3 - insert an automatic sum in A3, then press return and move to A4 - repeat until you reach A30 The result should be a series of sums of the above column, each time with one more value being added; instead it is a total nightmare as in the attached file, with many autofill giving things like SUM(A7:#RIF!A7) (see attached image). When using some drag and drop cell range definition, like in the function dialog, the same thing happens, sometimes in place of a thing like A7:#RIF!A7 you get a A3:Foglio3.B15 instead of an A3:B15 (which is wrong as well). And when you select a single cell range this is wrongly indicated repeating twice the single cell, so that A1 becomes A1:A1. Current behavior: All this is totally critical to use Calc with functions and formulas, making 4.2 RC2 substantially unusable. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73613 Priority: medium Bug ID: 73613 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: UI: Poor preview of Calc files with wide columns Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: Windows (All) Reporter: silva...@katamail.com Hardware: Other Whiteboard: BSA Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 4.2.0.2 rc Component: Spreadsheet Product: LibreOffice Problem description: In the preview of recent documents shown at the start (new in 4.2), if you have a calc file with a narrow column followed by a very wide one, the preview shows only the very narrow first, resulting is quite abnormal thin preview. For example, imagine that the calc document has a wide B column full of data, but since it cannot be seen completely, you see only column A which is just 0,5 cm. wide. Of course this suggest that the data in column B could not be printed on an A4 page as they are formatted now, but this should not cause the bad preview here where it does not have anything to do with the printing of the file. Steps to reproduce: 1. in a Calc Sheet, set column A to 0,58 cm, and column B to 24 cm.; put in any data in both columns. 2. save and close the file with this first sheet as specified 3. close all files so as to visualize the start screen 4. you will see the calc file previewed as a very thin vertical column with nothing at its side, while all other previews will show a rectangular full page Current behavior: In this case the preview is pretty useless, as the only column shown gives very little information about the content Expected behavior: Operating System: Windows 7 Version: 4.2.0.2 rc -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
