Can you submit the Patch to gerrit.libreoffice.org for a Code Review?
 See https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/gerrit for more
 information.

Here it is:
https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/7564/

(I didn't worked with gerrit before, because of this there can be some
mistakes)

Any update on this, is anybody working on it?

Should not be a critical security bug taken more into account, or at least the
users warned?

And why got the hard hack stuck in the proposed state, should not it be
accepted to start the work?

Is this bug maybe an NSA feature? (Just kidding... hopefully)

So basically I assume this file has come damaged from Google. I think this is
WONTFIX or NOTOURBUG. LO itself did nothing wrong, except for hanging
indefinitely in previous versions.

But since 4.2.0.2 is giving an error message (which of course is expected for
damaged or non-valid ods files) setting this to WONTFIX.

Ignore All, and has Ignore that means Ignore All
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: kumara.bhik...@gmail.com
  Hardware: All
Status: NEW
   Version: 4.1.2.3 release
 Component: Linguistic
   Product: LibreOffice

When I right-click on a string of text flagged by the grammar checker, the
context menu shows Ignore, but no Ignore all. Actually, the Ignore means
Ignore All.

So, there are 2 problems here:
1. BUG: Ignore all misleadingly labelled as Ignore.
2. INCOMPLETENESS: No way in the context menu to ignore just that instance.
(The Ignore means Ignore all.)

We should find, as in the the spelling and grammar dialog box, Ignore once
and Ignore all in the context menu.

fix stupid over-optimization

There's so little to be gained by storing pointers to simple
or refcounted types instead of using an instance. At least
SwTxtNode::GetMinMaxSize() and SwTxtNode::GetScalingOfSelectedText()
pass string temporaries to SwDrawTextInfo, so keeping a pointer
is clearly broken, and MSVC manages to optimize the code enough
to crash because of this. As all the pointers point to const references
and are accesses using const references as well, there shouldn't
be any harm in making a copy.
This fixes smoketest crash on Windows.

... specifically the change to convert pPos from Point const* to Point
means that SwDrawTextInfo::Shift() and  SwDoDrawStretchCapital::Do()
(which used to modify the const Point, eek!) now have a permanent effect
apparently because their changes are not reverted.

fixed on master

Problem description:
I found a RTL problem in the mine-menu windows (maybe its so called UI?),
with the Hebrew localized version. When the mouse cursor flew over the left row
of thumbnails it doesnt highlights. Only when it moves over the white field
between the roght row to the green menu, the left row thumbnails highlights.
However, the right row highlights almost properly. There seems to be a
synchronization issue between the RTL-appearance to his fields.

How is it a bug if MS Word fails to correctly display a doc file?

I suggest to:

* update the title with something meaningful
If this was saved as doc from a ods file
* attach the original ods file (so it can be investigated where this glitch is
introduced)

Otherwise I don't know if there is a whole lot we can fix about MS Word not
displaying the image correctly.

Hi,
I am working as a curator in a modern art museum in Marseilles, France, and
everybody here is using Libre Office in the administration/scientific team.
We often have to deal with spreadsheets and many of them do contain little
images.
When spreadsheets contain images, we are unable to sort them, and it is a huge
issue for us.
Please could you fix this bug so we can work easily with this stuff ?
Many thanks and best regards,
Olivier Cousinou

Gerry: thank you for your feedback. For the test, you can add 1 by 1 your
extensions and see each time if you can reproduce the bug. (if you've got a lot
of extensions, perhaps 2 or 3 by 3). With this, we'll know if the problem comes

Do you have the Cambria Fonts installed? It's MS Font that comes installed on
XP and with MS Office. For example, if I change the Header font to Courier
New, the whole title is displayed.

Interestingly, with Apache OpenOffice 4.0.1, the title was displayed correctly.

All those paragraphs use the same paragraph style (Überschrift 1). The same is

--- Comment #2 from Owen Genat owen.ge...@gmail.com ---
Summary edited to indicate the meta-nature of this enhancement / bug. Do we
have meta-enhancements?

All the open bugs in the See Also list should instead be in the Depends on
field. It would be good if someone from QA could confirm it is OK to make this
bulk-change, as it will cause quite a few emails to go out. Some clarity on the
policy with regard to meta-enhancements would also be good.

I notice that several of the bugs in the See Also list, have their own small
See Also list (excluding the back link to this bug), so there is evidently a
bit of a tangle here.

Thanks.

This issue appears to be related to the image itself. I created a new doc in

copied/pasted the image from Demo-Hayden-Management.doc. I aligned the .jpg

Hi,

This is a very recent regression. Open the bugdoc, it should have 4 borders
(top, right, bottom, left), but only has 2 (top, right).

Draw horizontal solid border lines directly in the pixel processor.

This makes slightly skinnier solid lines which look better on screen.

Just for the record, here is the end of the bisection:

- 279859fdbc40f68d8f1649fa5b928d9de49e8d9e is good (4 borders)
- 66f0a90bff032a8492c5f4af9281f180967554e3 is bad (only 2 borders)
- after reverting f979a12741d0e5f47b26aa407593ab7c21979f6d,
ae22838d2ff4d388e97c30317a6a9f83e652a06a is bad (only 2 borders)

ec1a3157c1851dcb481f402ec25aa38fa9e7c51c is bad (only 3 borders)
- after reverting f979a12741d0e5f47b26aa407593ab7c21979f6d,

f979a12741d0e5f47b26aa407593ab7c21979f6d is good

So the breakage arrived in two steps, first only 3 borders were painted, then
later only 2. The above first bad is the first commit where the 4 borders are
no longer painted.

Thanks,

Miklos

As described, when using the keyboard (CTRL-F11) to put the styles drop-down in
the focus, rather than being selected, the cursor is at the beginning of the
box.

This means that if you start typing it adds the text you type in front of the
current style, rather than allow you to begin typing and it autoselecting the
style you want.

Cheers.

 Component: UI
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 92533
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=92533action=edit
Issues with resizing window and sidebar.

Checking out one of the most popular UI mockups (by pauloup on deviantart), I
noticed that the implementation of the OOo sidebar was brought LibreOffice the
closest to achieving a new GUI yet.

I also noticed that with only a little tinkering, I could replicate the mockup
to a great extent. The result was not without its problems but I believe it can
allow a reconsideration of how the default GUI materialises upon installing
LibreOffice.

Reasons why this suggestion should be considered:
* UIs are important to the average end-user. Period.
* Kingsoft Office is being ported to Linux. I have used it for months and the
only setbacks, when compared to LO, were speed (port is still in Alpha) and
open document filetype support (easily fixable).
* The mockup is popular and easily replicable.
* End users may be able to replicate the mockup, but the one issue with FOSS
and widespread adoption is that users are expected to tamper and spend time on
customization.

Issues with current, manual process of changing the interface:
* The sidebar has too much dead space. Boxes under indent do not come closer
together when resizing the window. As such, resizing the window to a smaller
size results in the sidebar taking up most of the space.
* An extension of the above issue, working on one document while viewing
another results in even more dead space, taken up by the sidebar.
* Find toolbar closes easily. An always open option would be useful.
* Using firefox themes option allowed for a nicer, slightly gradient solid
background for the top toolbar. End users should not be expected to spend time
customizing, they are interested in out-of-the-box experience (hence the term
productivity suite). Default gradient colour background?
* Zoom settings could be moved to the top toolbar, as per the mockup.
* Sidebar could be *always on* once it is stable, appearing at the left side.
* So far, the top toolbar experience has users used to all options being next
to each other. Too much dead space between bold/italics/underline and
increase/decrease font size.

Other issues/suggestions that may require additional coding:
* The ability to have more than one document open within one instance of LO
Writer, would help alleviate the sidebar resizing issue.
* GUI selector. I can't stress it enough how my experience with trying to get
people to switch to FOSS and LO has failed, due to the archaic look and the
non-ease of use. A GUI selector will also allow users satisfied with the
current UI keep it that way, but also attract new users.

I only mentioned the sidebar to be *always on* and on the left side. I meant to
say that the UI, as shown in the attachments, should be the default.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 73891] New: UI color panel does not show the actual color

2014-01-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73891

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 73891
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: UI color panel does not show the actual color
  Severity: major
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: msrame...@gmail.com
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.3.2 release
 Component: UI
   Product: LibreOffice

In LO40 and earlier, the Font Color, Background Color and Highlight Color
panels (in all components) identified the actual color by a small frame.
Although awkward, this feature helped if one wanted to apply the same color for
a different object. Since the new color panel with more colors, introduced in
LO41, there is no such functionality and there is now way how to find out,
which color does an object have. Thus one cannot apply the same color to a
different piece of text, object etc. I find this to be very annoying.

Moreover, functionality of these icons is different in different LO components.
If I set font color in Calc, the icon keeps the color even if I click on text
with different color. This a good feature and can be used to recolor multiple
pieces of text. In Writer or Impress, when clicking on text with different
color, the actual color of the icon updates. So, when I want to use the same
color for different pieces of text, I have to remember coordinates of the color
in the panel.

I normally use in presentation just two colors - black and some highlight
color. Even in this simple case the panel does not help me in setting the right
color. What I (and maybe others too) would love to see, is a color panel, which
shows a list of colors used in the document. This would remove all my problems
with setting the color.

Hi Olivier,
Please, don't change the version, it must be the version where the bug was
found. This is very helpfull for developpers.

XLS format spreadsheet - two sheets
Define three different data ranges on one sheet, try to use the data ranges for
data validity of three different columns on a different sheet
- Changing data validation on one column sometimes changes the validation for
another column with validation
- Try to change the cell range back to the correct one, changes are not saved
- Sometimes, after saving the sheet and re-opening it, the data range
definitions are lost

so bisecting manually with the fix for the crasher bug 71527
maually applied gives:

regression from:

commit 3af99e4d59d89c343965a928681a30f36b1007d2
Author: Noel Grandin n...@peralex.com
AuthorDate: Tue Nov 19 15:58:58 2013 +0200

convert equalsAsciiL calls to startsWith calls

Convert code like:
aStr.equalsAsciiL( RTL_CONSTASCII_STRINGPARAM( ActiveConnection ) )
to
aStr.startsWith( ActiveConnection )
which compiles down to the same machine code.

actually this commit lets the active slide disappear after clicking Next.

there is a pre-existing other bug here that leaves most of the presenter
screen missing (black) but that has been introduced earlier and fixed
since then, while the active slide bug is still there.

now it turns out that Stephan has already reverted the above commit
for other reasons just 4 hours ago, but he clearly failed to document
that that fixes this bug too.

fixed on master by commit a3f32769fc4bb23c64168b412dd10ec769a3854d

Sorry to be late, but i except this sample will show the bug (rather
unexcepted result).
Samply copy the Example word from Source (Times 14 Red) and paste into
destination1 (originnaly Arial 10 Black).
I got a Example word but in Arial 14 Red...

I except :
- Arial 10 Black (same as destination1)
or
- Times 14 Red (same as source)

But not a mix of the two format...

(sorry for my poor english, i'm french)
