[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 81829] New: VIEWING: Can't page down accurately in Entire Page view Windows 7
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=81829 Priority: medium Bug ID: 81829 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: VIEWING: Can't page down accurately in Entire Page view Windows 7 Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: Windows (All) Reporter: warrenm...@gmail.com Hardware: Other Whiteboard: BSA Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 4.2.5.2 release Component: Writer Product: LibreOffice Problem description: It is not possible to use Writer to read a long document properly because it does not align pages properly when page down pressed. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open a large document in Writer under Windows 7. 2. Select Entire Page from View/Zoom 3. Press page down. Current behavior: Page down will align the document so that the interpage break is roughly in the middle of the viewing area. The top of the area will show the end of the previous page and the bottom of the area will show the start of the current page. Continued pressing of page down will continue to align the page break in the approximate centre of the viewing area. Expected behavior: Page down should align the document so that the top of the page is at the top of the viewing area and only that page should be visible. Continued pressing of page down should display each successive page taking up the entire viewing area. Further information: This is the same bug that was listed earlier as FDO#65885 and wrongly closed by James a year ago with WORKSFORME when he used LO 4.1.0.1 on OS X 10.8.4. This is a Windows Bug and should not be closed by an Apple user. You cat try anything else, like foo. Writer only interprets the A1:A3 part of =summe(A1:A3). Looks like the angle brackets are some shortcut to sum?! The issue is, that writer should not silently ignore the wrong function name, but display an error, that the function was not found. Then it would be clear to everyone. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 68441] FORMATTING: conditional custom cell formatting expressions fail with @ token
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68441 --- Comment #10 from Owen Genat owen.ge...@gmail.com --- (In reply to comment #0) Consider the following cell format : [0.05][BLUE]small;[0]negative;@ it should print small for numbers between 0 and 0.05, negative for negative numbers and treat all other data as text. I am not convinced that treat all other data as text is an accurate representation. Formats should be respected. LO Calc Number Format Codes page: https://help.libreoffice.org/Common/Number_Format_Codes#Including_Text_in_Number_Format_Codes To include text in a number format that is applied to a cell that might contain text, enclose the text by double quotation marks ( ), and then add an at sign (@). For example, enter Total for @ to display Total for December. MS Excel Number Format Codes page: http://office.microsoft.com/en-001/excel-help/number-format-codes-HP005198679.aspx If included, a text section is always the last section in the number format. Include an at sign (@) in the section where you want to display any text entered in the cell. If the @ character is omitted from the text section, text you enter will not be displayed. If you want to always display specific text characters with the entered text, enclose the additional text in double quotation marks ( ). For example, gross receipts for @ Sounds to me like @ should only be displaying content under either Calc or Excel if it is text. For numbers (e.g., the 42 in the example) either # or 0 would appear to be required. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=53072 --- Comment #9 from Hyogapag hyoga...@yahoo.fr --- Auto-adding a paragraph after a section or table is not an appropriate solution. Does it mean I should open a new bug because LibreOffice *does* automatically add a line after a table if the cursor is on the last line of the document ? Or that I should interpret LO behaviour with tables as an *insertion* of the table before the active paragraph ? Anyway, the behaviour of LO is not consistent between tables and columns in spite of what you wrote. In the bug description, would it be right if I request that Format Columns *inserts* a multi-col paragraph instead of transforming the active paragraph into a multicol one ? When I copy styles between own templates (.ott), what are not opened at this moment, the program does not save the changes. I did not try this with opened templates (.ott files). I am going to attempt to paraphrase the original report for the sake of clarity. The reporter appears to have: - A.ott, template - B.odt, document based on A.ott When A.ott is modified and then closed, upon opening B.odt it is expected that a dialog asking: The template 'A' on which this document is based, has been modified. Do you want to update style based formatting according to the modified template? [Update styles][Keep Old Styles] [ Help ] ... is displayed. This does not appear to be occurring. Furthermore styles copied between templates do not appear to be getting saved. This second issue is likely separate and needs to be reported separately. I am unable to reproduce the issue as described above using v3.5.7.2 under GNU/Linux, but as suggested, greater detail about the change in styles (in the template) may be required to determine what is occurring. LO 4.2 had the right behavior, showing a generic writer, calc, impress... icon when the file is protected by a password. But, starting with version 4.3 (first alpha release and up to 4.3 RC3), the preview thumbnail is shown. This is illogical as it shows a small part of a file that is supposed to be confidential. I may also add that the preview thumbnail (thumbnail.png) is usually too big in Linux (cant't say for other platform). The thumbnail.png file in the ODF archive increased by 30 kb between version 4.1 and 4.2 (and up) of LO. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=81765 --- Comment #4 from Eduardo Moreno emor...@tokonhu.com --- (In reply to comment #3) Slowness is due to the massive amount (1000) of conditional formats, most on sheets FT-ING-PR-02 and FT-ING-PR-03, many of them even applied to identical ranges. Looks like a result of heavy copypaste actions, or the macro you mentioned creates them. All these conditionals also extremely slow down scrolling around in the document once it was loaded. @Markus: Shouldn't a conditional style when pasted be merged with its neighbors if identical? Can we somehow detect and correct this mess during document load? @Eduardo: You could unprotect the sheets and invoke Format-Conditional-Manage and manually remove all the single formats and extend one of them to cover the needed ranges. It's quite a tedious task though. The password to unprotect is 123456. The macro create a conditional format when add a row. Never know how many rows will be add. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=81764 --- Comment #5 from kvr2...@mail.ru --- I checked the issue in LO Writer version 4.3.1 from the current branch (Build ID 0cb7d753b6b51411ab8dd72eab79f855a1d21c4d), dated 28th of July, and the issue persists. When I was making the test file, I added the picture in PNG format, so no wonder that it is embedded as a PNG. However if I try to EXPORT the picture from writer and choose JPEG as the output format the picture is nevertheless EXPORTED as a PNG, as we can see from the output of file utility. It looks like the Save Graphic function just changes the file extension from *.png to *.jpg without altering the file itself. For clarity I included in the attachments the *.jpg file (output.jpg) that is generated by the Save Graphic function in LO writer. Again, its extension is *.jpg, however the file utility says, that it is a PNG. Sorry! Oh sorry, I see what you mean now, and now I see why you are referring to auto-insertion of a paragraph. a) Table Insert Table = object placed PRIOR to cursor paragraph. b) Insert Section = section placed PRIOR to cursor paragraph. c) Format Columns = section/columns placed IN the cursor paragraph. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80721 Joel Madero jmadero@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added Status|REOPENED|RESOLVED Resolution|--- |FIXED CC||jmadero@gmail.com --- Comment #10 from Joel Madero jmadero@gmail.com --- @Officeuser - it's been marked as fixed in 4.4 so of course you won't see the fix in 4.2. You can try 4.4 yourself to see if it's resolved, please don't set to REOPENED unless it's not fixed on any version earlier than 4.4 http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/ -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I agree its practically extremely problematic =) no doubt about it; but I'd like to have this guy as a placeholder for this feature I think we will need (eventually). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 32248] FILEOPEN SVG no TEXT visible
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32248 Joel Madero jmadero@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added Status|REOPENED|NEW Severity|major |minor Priority|high|low CC||jmadero@gmail.com --- Comment #44 from Joel Madero jmadero@gmail.com --- REOPENED is not the correct status as this is only used by developers when a bug is assigned. Setting to NEW Also this is not a Major bug - it does not prevent high quality work (as there is a workaround from what I can see in the comments). MAJOR is loss of data/crash that there is no workaround for, here if you go to insert it seems like the text is imported. Please don't change the severity or priority again.
