https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37654 --- Comment #26 from Ulrich Windl ulrich.wi...@rz.uni-regensburg.de --- (In reply to foss from comment #25) I agree if your slides have no specific title set (the default title is just the page number) and your slides are all significantly different. However if you have very similar slides or you have slide titles set (those will be converted to bookmarks on PDF export, BTW), you may prefer the readable slide title over possibly too-tiny-to-read slide contents. The obvious difference between hovering information pop-ups and permanent text is that you can have only one hover pop-up, and pop-ups frequently cover other parts of the screen. If you use your own slide titles, seeing many of them at once allows you to check them for consistency and spelling errors, for example... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76239 --- Comment #45 from Mike Kaganski mikekagan...@hotmail.com --- IMO, you cannot close it as WFM, just because all subscribers here say that next upgrade didn't show the problem. It seems that the problem is somehow state-dependent. E.g., I have met it only 4.2.7-4.3.4, while every previous upgrade went smoothly (and upgrading to the same version on several other PCs went OK, too). And if most people here have installed fonts manually, this could just hide the bug as well. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 87238] New: Calc: Add ability to set default values for text CSV filter settings
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87238 Bug ID: 87238 Summary: Calc: Add ability to set default values for text CSV filter settings Product: LibreOffice Version: 4.3.4.1 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: Spreadsheet Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: whalens...@gmail.com My coworkers and I need to save all of our CSVs generated by Calc in the UTF-8 encoding, and possibly change the delimiters as well. Currently, the text encoding is always set to the operating system's default unless the text filter settings are changed by the user at each save, even when saving an existing file. It's an extra step that is easy to forget about, which has caused many mistakes. A check box in the filter settings dialog to use the above settings as the default in Calc (perhaps with a reset button), would solve this problem. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 87239] New: Inconsistent look and operation of drop-down buttons
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87239 Bug ID: 87239 Summary: Inconsistent look and operation of drop-down buttons Product: LibreOffice Version: 3.3.0 release Hardware: Other OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: trivial Priority: lowest Component: ux-advise Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: mikekagan...@hotmail.com CC: libreoffice-ux-adv...@lists.freedesktop.org The following tries to summarize some inconsistencies in drop-down menu-like toolbar button panels. Although the priority is not high, making all such UI elements behave consistently could somewhat improve the overall experience of LO. Pressing arrow next to Font Color/Highlighting toolbar button brings the drop-down panel that has a caption, that can be used for dragging. When dragged, it becomes a floating window. The drop-down (not draggged) stays on screen while the main application window is resized/moved. Pressing arrows of drawing toolbar buttons (say, Basic Shapes) gives a drop-down panel without caption; but it has double horizontal lines that represent dragging area. Trying to resize/move main app window hides drop-down (as expected). Pressing arrow next to Insert Table button gives a drop-down with caption; it behaves like draggable, but on release it disappears. Trying to resize/move main app window hides drop-down (as expected). Pressing arrow next to Bullets On/Off (or Numbering On/Off) gives drop-down without header/double lines, not draggable, no borders. Items have flat appearance with thin black border on hover. Trying to resize/move main app window hides drop-down (as expected). Pressing arrow next to Line Spacing (recent versions) gives not draggable drop-down with some border. Items look like 3D buttons on hover. Trying to resize/move main app window hides drop-down (as expected). Pressing arrow next to Insert Field/Paste gives not draggable drop-down with some border. Items look like menu items (standard OS menu look; system-defined highlight color, etc). Trying to resize/move main app window hides drop-down (as expected). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69609] registrymodification.xcu in presets folder not copied to newly created profiles.
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69609 --- Comment #4 from Justin L jl...@mail.com --- Created attachment 110748 -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=110748action=edit patch which reads the copied registrymodifications.xcu into the memory copy This patch is against 4.5 master. The code was lifted from migration.cxx and adapted to fit this scenario. By far, the best alternative to fixing this is to write a configuration extension. However, that is a HUGE, daunting step for your average sysadmin to take. Documentation is sparse, debugging ability is NIL, intimate knowledge of XML in general and LibreOffice configuration in particular is required. The barrier to entry is extremely high. (I wrote it off as too difficult initially, a co-worker implemented it successfully 'by luck', and even after that I still failed to successfully modify our extension to add another change and gave up after a few hours. I finally got it right the last time I tried.) The proposed bug fix reduces the barrier to entry significantly. An administrator only needs to know about the existence of the .../presets folder. Then they can simply copy a known good profile into that location. They don't need to identify the specific XML entries for the settings they want to change, and they don't need to mess with individual's profiles or scripting. (The big downside compared to a config extension is that changes can't be made after a profile already exists, but perhaps you could get away with just deleting individual's profiles, and then they start with a fresh one automatically.) To lower the barrier even further (so a sysadmin doesn't have to know how to properly prune his template registrymodifications.xcu file), I'm trying to build in some sysprep type of exclusions that should be removed since they don't apply to a default profile (like document history/recovery, personal information, etc.). I think it will be highly beneficial for simple sysadmins (like myself) to have this feature implemented. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
