Great! I guess then that this is my first confirmed LibreOffice bug. I filed
others too, but so far nobody confirmed them.

Steps to reproduce:

In a new Writer document, type:

At this point, LibreOffice will crash. Possibly this is another one limited to

This is already fixed in 4.4beta2 and 4.5 master (though apparently not in
4.3.5.1). Changes to those fields now take effect as they are typed

Although it could be backported to 4.3, frankly it's a minor enough
inconvenience that I don't think it's worth a developer's time to wrangle it
into a 4.3 release

04) Close Draw and Open Impress
05) Sidebar will be in the same half open state

This might be related to lp#1400938.

@Darius: Can you still start LibreOffice from the Dash? i.e. press the
Windows-key and type libreoffice? If LibreOffice shows up there, everything
is right even from the LibreOffice packaging side and you should be able to
just drag and drop the icon to the dash.

If LibreOffice icons vanished from the dash, it was likely because you rebooted
with LibreOffice uninstalled at some point in time. These icons are added to
the dash in a fresh default Ubuntu installation, but they do not automatically
added if you reinstall after a complete uninstallation.

I too, have had reports that gave the same error ...

Thanks for the confirmation.

As no one is going to go back and fix 3.x bugs, and the problem does not
seem to occur on recent versions of LO, closing as resolved worksforme.

Agreed, thanks!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 87406] Creating a Pilot table in Libre Office 4.3 crashes CALC

2014-12-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87406

The version of LO I amusing is 4.3.4.1 and it was the same with previous
version
To clarify better the issue :
- the pilot table is created from a Base database
- its creation Under 4.2 raised no issue
- the use of the created pilot table in CALC using the same database Under LO
4.3.4.1 is ok. It refreshes without problem.
- However when creating a new pilot table Under 4.3, the crash occurs and no
menu appears to built the new table even after restoration of files.

top line shows correct rendering in arial, arial black doesn't contain hebrew
glyphs and results in the mess shown on second line.

When Libreoffice determines that font fallback is necessary the layout of RTL
texts goes totally haywire. see attached file. this makes Libreoffice almost
entirely unusable for me since most of my Hebrew fonts cause trouble.

I can't work out what the decision of using font fallback based on, perhaps
Uniscribe returning E_SCRIPT_NOT_IN_FONT. This might be a bug in itself since
Uniscribe will say that even if all the necessary characters are available just
the font doesn't have the correct open-type features.

All my proprietry Hebrew fonts - which are from reputable Israeli font vendor
and support all Hebrew features, don't work in OpenOffice, though many free and
open Hebrew fonts do work.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 87411] New: Reproducable BUG: UI - toolbar: format - component style changes behaviour whether toolbar is horizontal or vertical

2014-12-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 87411
Summary: Reproducable BUG: UI - toolbar: format - component
style changes behaviour whether toolbar is
horizontal or vertical
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.3.0.4 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: phil40...@gmail.com

Tested on LO 4.3.4 multi-lingual version.

Bug is independant of apps, aka whether Writer or Calc

How to reproduce the bug:
1/ ToolsPersonaliseToolbar and choose the format toolbar
2/ Check the components: apply style, font name, size
3/ Set the format toolbar vertically.
Observe that on clicking onto the
3.1 font name button you are prompted with a menu.
3.2 apply style button you have no menu
3.3 font size button nothing happens.

4/ Now set the format toolbar horizontally
and compare than when clicking onto the

4.1 font name button you have a drop down list
4.2 apply style button you have a drop down list
4.3 font size button you have a drop down list

EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR
Horizontal or vertical toolbar placement should NOT change the behaviour of the
tools, therefore when placing the toolbar vertically, all 3 aforesaid buttons
should have a drop down list.

Thanks

1) Open a database file.
2) File - New - Labels
3) Choose pre-existing format (I chose Avery A4)
4) Click on New Document
5) Now try to print document to printer (Kyocera networked FS C5150 DN)
6) Printing fails with printer error message requesting insertion of Monarch
size envelope in Manual Paper feed.

Observations : the page attribute is set to User 10cm x 10cm, which is clearly
wrong, as per my choice it should have been A4.

This is not imho a database issue, rather a Writer module issue. Changing
component accordingly and confirming.

OK, so your stack says Ubuntu 14.04 and Oracle JDBC connector

I don't see JDBC in the stack trace...

Jared, if you could repeat the backtrace with a *debug* build of LibreOffice,
it would be very helpful.

I just tested this under LO 4.4.0.0-beta2 and under the nightly master snapshot
(master~2014-12-12_18.49.54_LibreOfficeDev_4.5.0.0.alpha0) using 32bit
Fedora17.

I still get the same Document in Use dialog with an Open Copy button when I
try to open a document currently in use by another user. It still presents me
with buttons for opening read-only, as a copy, or to cancel. Opening as a copy
still does not add an entry for that file under either the start center or
under recent documents.

I'm changing the status to reopened.

Yes the frame toolbar has many functions that are equally important to
frames and pictures, which is why the important ones would be put into the
image toolbar, but it also has functions that are not image related, so they

Only three ..

appear disabled when an image is selected. Presently, a user has to look
through two toolbars for image related features and it would be better to
 have it just in one.

But it emphasizes behaviour being the same for pictures and frames.
I really wouldn't spent any time on thinking about changing this.

before starting to crash, the macro was working correctly (so it shouldn't be a
syntax problem).

raal: This problem only occurs in very specific situations. Examples, where

1. assuming 5 cells to be merged horizontally

select 5 cells A-E (or B-F, etc.) ADJACENT to LEFT OF the orignal cells

7 original cells in rows 8-14 (or 9-15, etc.) are now unmerged

3. if a range of cells WxH is merged anywhere W columns right and H rows or
more below A1, the same thing will happen if you try to paste a copy of it into
a WxH range selected above or to the left and immediately adjacent to the
original merged cells, as long as the original merged cell and the adjacent
selected range have at least one row or column in common or touch the upper
left corner of the original merged cell; e.g.:

--- Comment #3 from GerardF gerard.farg...@orange.fr ---
I don't think this is a bug but a feature.

Autofilter detects data in a range untill he found the 1st empty row.
With this, if you add data in following rows, new rows are used by autofilter
without the need to change autofilter range.
In your sample, autofilter only include 1st because 2nd is empty.
The same problem may occurs if row 10 (for example) is empty,
autofilter will filtering only untill row 9.

I think this is a bad idea of having an empty row but this is possible if you
defined the range.

1 Remove the autofilter,
2 Select the whole range (A4:J105)
3 menu Data Define the range, and give a name
4 With this named range selected, Set again the autofilter.

Now you can use the autofilter with an empty row.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 87357] CONDITIONAL FORMATTING: Context menu entry to edit

2014-12-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87357

--- Comment #6 from Markus Mohrhard markus.mohrh...@googlemail.com ---
I don't like the request and if I have to decide it would not be implemented.
Conditional formats are complex especially when it comes to handling the
different corner cases. For range based conditional formats we have some
dialogs to help with that problem that don't fit into the context menu.

Personally I would prefer if everyone would just go through Manage Formats as
it is the only way to understand what is going on in your spreadsheet.

The context menu becomes a bit confusing if entries appear or disappear based
on things that the user does not see/understand. One thing that I learned from
Christoph is that the context menu should be simple and intuitive.

This is interesting. I found the variable action causing the bug. The document
contains sections in addition to the imbedded spreadsheet, so when it loads, I
get this message:

This document contains one or more links to external data.
Would you like to change the document, and update all links
to get the most recent data?
Yes No

1. Answering No to this question and then
2. clicking into the spreadsheet
3. and back out
results in turning the spreadsheet to a bitmap that looks like a 2-prong Europe
contiental electrical wall plug bitmap.

Interesting since the 'Yes / No' question has no impact on updating the
spreadsheet. ( wish it did.) It only affects the sections content.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 87417] New: UI Active tab not preserved for next use of the same dialog, it uses the tab-number from the last opened dialog instead

2014-12-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 87417
Summary: UI Active tab not preserved for next use of the same
dialog, it uses the tab-number from the last opened
dialog instead
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: c...@nouenoff.nl

How to reproduce:

1. writer document
2. open dialog Format Font
3. select third tab
   OK
4. open dialog Format Paragraph.
this opens with third tab active
5. select first tab
   OK
6. open dialog Format Font
now this opens with _first_ tab active

This behaviour has been introduced with the new UI dialogs, AFAICT.

But slowly it starts to annoy me, especially since I want some dialogs to open
always on the first tab (File Export to PDF for example..)
And repetitive use of some dialogs for certain settings, while touching another
in between is less handy too..

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 75644] LibO applications use the window size of the start screen instead of the last used size of the document

--- Comment #6 from V Stuart Foote vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu ---
(In reply to Papamatti from comment #0)
Applications use the window size of the start screen instead of the last
 used size of the document.

If you start libre office with the start screen and select a document in the
preview the application (writer for excample) it uses the size of the start
 screen.

If you open the document directly it the application use the last used size
 of the document.

The right behavior should be that in both cases the application opens with
the last used window size of the document!

Nope. Actually, window state is NOT tied to each document--but to the last
launch of the component.

If a component is launched from the Start Center, its window will be the size
of the Start Center.

If a document is launched from the OS file association, or opening a component
from individual launcher, its window will open the size of the last launch of
the component. And when closed the size of the Start Center adjusts
accordingly.

These states are recorded into the LO user
profile--registrymodifications.xcu--clear it and you get defaults.

As clipped from the item stanzas
...Setup:Factory['com.sun.star.frame.StartModule']
...Setup:Factory['com.sun.star.text.TextDocument']

There is no hook within ODF document to suppor this. It could possibly be
handled within the Histories:HistoryInfo item list. But that is cleared as soon
as an item is removed from the recent documents list.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 87418] New: Bad ordered list ol after saving ODT document as HTML.

2014-12-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87418

Bug ID: 87418
Summary: Bad ordered list ol after saving ODT document as
HTML.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.3.4.1 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: pea...@real-data.pl

Created attachment 110959
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=110959action=edit
Screenshots from example document that shows where is the bug.

After you save the ODT document as HTML, lists are wrong numbered. Some later
sections that were continuous in the ODT document, in the HTML file numbering
starts from the beginning. Are also badly formatted multilevel numbering. After
saving to HTML is a single-level numbering. It seems that in HTML file, is
missing start attribute of ol tag. Also other attributes responsible for
numbered list formating is missing probably missing.

See attached examples.
