It needs a very tall file to produce this bug. A second file in a 3-table spreadsheet (every sheet has only 2 or 3 pages) was exported correct. The big one has 13 sheets with more than 20 pages per sheet. If I want to export as pdf within the normal view, the exported pdf is one page, as I wanna have. If I switch to printpreview (Shift + cmd + O), click on the Symbol in the print-preview-window toolbar (the same happens, if I take the menu-command) the dialog appears: Export as pdf, I select Selection and the pdf export needs 1 Minute and the pdf-file has 653 pages… Maybe because the Printarea is much bigger than one Page and is configured as only one page and landscape mode? Select Show numbering. Press F11 to open the Styles and Formatting window, and then click the Paragraph Styles icon. Right-click the Default paragraph style and choose Modify. All paragraph styles are based on the Default style. Click the Numbering tab. In the Line Numbering area, clear the Include this paragraph in line numbering check box. Click OK. Select the paragraph(s) where you want to add the line numbers. Choose Format - Paragraph, and then click the Numbering tab. Select Include this paragraph in line numbering. Click OK. This is long-winded and tedious. Only the vertical ruler is disabled by default in 4.4.x. And the button is displayed next to the HORIZONTAL one. So, no: invalid point. An unfortunate personal settings, in addition to reading the release notes for version 4.4 (#changes_to_rulers) confirmed me that the function was not available by default. Resetting the default settings on my system shows me that indeed the horizontal ruler is available. If I'm not mistaken, the possibility of a keyboard shortcut to show and hide quickly the ruler was motivated because it would not be visible by default. And nope, moving that to the status bar will only make it more cluttered. I understand that this can be a point of view. However, is it tenable to maintain that functionality depending on the visibility of the ruler? Maybe not such a good idea to move it to the status bar, but at least this would be a hegemony in the user interface if implemented in other applications such as Impress or Calc (collaborative work). Many users do not depend on the use of the ruler to use word processor and functionality wonder lose by not having an interface element. Some of the characters became blocks. Changing the zoom level up and down resulted in either the text displaying correctly or some or all of the characters appearing as blocks. It did get to the point that I could not reproduce it reliably. I tried exiting LO completely and reopening the document but I don't know the exact steps required to get it to display the blocks. In Tools → Language → For all Text → More, CTL is not checked for the current document. The attached screenshot shows the blocks in the preview.
