Hello, there is a function for minimizing the program to the system tray when
the program is started without an open document? Perhaps it would be good to

If indeed we get a similar problem in 4.4 - then I guess this is ~un-related to
VclPtr (indeed that can help us fix it elegantly). Reading vcl's
ImplASyncFocusHdl - it looks like it propagate a number of horrible lifecycle
constraints through the code that are not obvious ;-)

When saving a document that was opened from an FTP server, e.g. with

libreoffice ftp://mylo...@ftp.example.com/somedocument.odt

LibreOffice may prompt for the FTP password.  When this dialog is canceled
(e.g. because one recognizes there are still errors and one doesn't want to
push the still "bad" document to the server yet), the document is apparently
switched to read-only mode.  To make the document editable again, it strangely
helps to do a File => Close and cancel that dialog as well.


Expected behavior:

When canceling the password dialog, the document should remain editable.

I have edited the summary, because this isn't only about the menu entry I put
originally (that's just where I spotted it).

I'm using the English version of LO 5.0.0.5 on Windows 7. The Windows version
is French, but that shouldn't matter. The shortcuts (e.g. "Ctrl + Shift + X")
appear in German ("Strg + Umschlt + X"). This seems to be the case across all
menus.

I'm running my master build which was updated yesterday with gtk2 and all spin
buttons arent rendered.

Version: 5.1.0.0.alpha1+
Build ID: af9ec296c1d57847f21e79f90a7b5626986ff6f3
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8)

The commandline kept on outputting stuff like this and changing themes didnt
fix the issue.

The DOS versions, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quattro_Pro. I added
support 
for it in libwps because its format is quite similar to .wks, .wk1, ..., and
because LibreOffice did not open them.

I suppose that this will happens in some near future ; ie. this seems a logical
thing to do (at least while the formats remain some binary format), we only
needed
to find more developers to do that...

Principally because of lack of developers(so the main priority was to retrieve

When I created a test file, I found that most of the symptoms disappeared,
although they persist in already existing files.

Note that I use the french language locale, so that may be related.
one problem that continues is 
 word1.word2
or
 word1.word2.word3
will be underlined entirely if any component (i.e. word1 or word2 or word3) is
not in the dictionary.  But not if all components are in the dictionary, and
the joined words (e.g. word1.word2) is not.

I'll try to simplify an existing file to demonstrate the problem.

When attempting to use BASE to create a new database with 64-bit Libreoffice
5.0.1.2 an error message appears:
"LibreOffice requires a Java runtime environment (JRE) to perform this task.
The selected JRE is defective."

Happens on both Windows 7 pro and Windows 8.1

Tried both 32 bit and 64 bit Java JRE 8 version 60 - neither works.

However, the previous 32 bit and 64 bit versions of libreoffice 5.0.0.5 BASE
work OK with 32 bit and 64 bit Java, respectively.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create a new spreadsheet.
2. In cell $A1, enter the value 1.
3. Select the column A header so the entire column is selected, and alias it by
entering the name "FIRST" into the cell selection dropdown and pressing enter.
4. In cell $B1, enter the value 2.
5. Select the column B header so the entire column is selected, and alias it by
entering the name "SECOND" into the cell selection dropdown and pressing enter.
6. In cell $C1, enter the formula "=FIRST+SECOND" and notice that the
calculated value is 3.
7. Select all of row 2, right-click and select "Insert row above".
8. The expected behavior is that the value of $C1 remain unchanged, but notice
that cell $C1 now reports the error "#REF!". This is because the inserted row
has corrupted all the name aliases. If you click on the cell-selector dropdown
and select "Manage names", you can see all the name aliases now look like:

"$Sheet1.$A$1:$A$#REF!".

A workaround is to manually define name aliases to include an end-row less than
the maximum number of rows.

For example, by default, setting a name alias currently generates a name entry
like:

$Sheet1.$A$1:$A$1048576

Presumably, inserting a new row tries to increment the end value, which
overflows, causing an error. If you manually re-define this like:

$Sheet1.$A$1:$A$1

Then insertions can increment this value without overflowing, albeit this can
be a huge hassle to do if you need to define dozens of column aliases.

This bug seems to have been introduced in some 4.* release. I don't remember
having this problem in the 3.* release.

In Impress/Draw, there is a non-modal dialog at Tools > Color Replacer that has
a feature tooltiped as 'pipette' that will allow a user to pick a color from
their document and this feature would be useful to be integrated into the
sidebar next to old and new color controls, as well as being integrated into
the new color picker dialog, if it is possible as the custom color button in
the dialog opens a modal color pick dialog.

I've experienced similar problems with frame wrapping but 5.0.0.5's
predecessors posed no problems. i have several adjacent frames anchored to the
page of a 2 column page. I've experimented by arranging the frames to not
overlap the heading nor the column separator without success. when a portion of
a paragraph is being wrapped, everything is as desired until a new page is
displayed. at this point the wrapped text is hidden by spaces but not deleted
as re wrapping shows the full paragraph text.

We should use:

glGetProgramBinary and glProgramBinary and its friends to serialize
pre-compiled shaders - to avoid having to pay the cost of re-compiling them on
startup each time.

We should presumably re-use the cache directory (and/or code) that we do the
same thing for openCL for in this regard; I forget if we use a hash of the
program string to do that or ... anyhow =) shouldn't be too difficult I hope.

Hi,

I am using Dragon NaturallySpeaking Home v13 (x86).
It was working perfectly with LibreOffice 4.x (x86)

I am using Windows 10 Home (x64)

But since I have updated to LibreOffice 5.0.1.2 (x86 to avoid any plugin
problem), it stopped working.
The dictation software continues to work in other software, but it no longer
works in LibreOffice (so I think there's a bug which affects LibO 5)

I checked Microphone, voice learning... Dragon is constantly asking me to
repeat and doesn't understand any word. Only commands catched by Dragon (Sleep,
start...) work.

Now I just downgraded to LibreOffice 4.4.5.2 and everything is working like
before, I can dictate again.

Reproduced with 5.1+.
LO 3.3.0 could save the existing format properly, but it couldn't insert it,
because Inset-Fields-DocInformation-Custom are empty.
After that, Custom fields are there, but with this bug.
I change the title because it's just CreateDate problem, other fields are
saved.

Windows 7 Home systems do not have gpedit.msc installed, so I found a patch
which installed it and enabled 64 bit.

All the entries were "Not Configured", so I changed the "Allow user control
over installs" to 1[enable] and also set the same item in "User Configuration".
 I checked the entry for
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer"
The default was not configured
AlwaysInstalElevated was set to 1

the subkey of AlwaysInstalElevated 
Default was set to 1

I then tried another install of the latest 5.0.1 and low and behold it went
back to C:\Program Files again

In the mean time I have installed other software,7zFM compression went to K:
drive but Inkscape, another msi installer went to C:\Progrm Files. I must admit
when I sold commercial software I never used the msi installer in Installshied
as I had similar problems.

I have looked through a number of posts and other than these changes I cannot
find anything else

Any further Ideas

Document before bug occures

Overview: 

If you modify an automatic table of contents in a certain wa, the page number
gets corrupted.

Steps to Reproduce: Many steps to reproduce!

1) Open the sample file attached.
2) edit the table of contents.
3) insert a 0.4 cm tab between E# and E and one with 14.4 cm before the
standard tab.
4) Close edit with okay (not sure if neccessary)
5) repeat the same for level 2 but with 1.6 cm and 14.8 cm.
6) again for level 3 with 3.6 and 17.8 cm
7) Click okay

Actual Results:

As soon as you click okay after step 6 one gets added to the Roman page
numbers(so II gets III and so on)
If you take a look at the pages the page number hasn't changed (see page
numbering at the bottom)
Another interesting observation is that if you delete the table the page break
with format change and page numbering restart which was before the index page
has vanished.
I tried to add another page break while the table was still there but the page
numbers stayed the same.

If you add the page break with "start numbering from" and Format "Verzeichniss
rechts) again and insert a new table the numbering is correct again.


Build Date & Hardware: Date and hardware of the build in which you first
encountered the bug.

Test in LibreOffice Portable 4.3.5.2 on Windows 8 and and LO 5.0.1.2/5.0.0.5 in
Ubuntu 15.04 and Windows 8.
(Sry I could only deliver the exact used build tomorrow)

The important word in the bug report summary is _summary_

Insert a summary at the top of the first page and then try to insert something
before it.

No, that comment just states that it works on a different Distro (CentOS) that
happens to use rpm as package format.

So far it is only clear that an unstated version of Debian suffers the problem.
But no indication that it is a problem with the deb-packaging.

If I'm not wrong, frames have their own position, so we need to find a way for
them to make their position and the text, equal.

Setting up the frame options in Type-tab Anchor - "As character" and the
position for Vertical - "From bottom" to "Base line", seems to do what you
want, of course with Border-tab "spacing to Contents" equal to zero and without
line for the border. If you put again the line for the border, remember set up
again to zero the spacing to contents. Not perfect but almost.

Maybe is more flexible using Anchor - "To character", modifying the "by"
distance for Vertical position "From top", allow a fine adjust.

Hi,

Previously, Calc could not open this file at all. The bugged was tracked here
and fixed.

There is still a performance issue. Calc is still rather slow to open the file
and initial switching between the sheets is also slow. Subsequent switching
between the various sheets is fast and responsive.

The help.libreoffice.org wiki contains outdated and sometimes erroneous
documentation (e.g. https://help.libreoffice.org/Calc/Updating_Pivot_Tables
states that pivot tables get automatically recalculated, but this is false).

I can see a couple sensible options to improve the situation:  either make a
bold warning at the top of these pages indicating that they are outdated, and
recommending that users refer to updated documentation elsewhere, or update the
pages so that they are kept in sync with the current documentation of
LibreOffice.

Sorry, this one does appear to be tricky to reproduce.  I originally ran into
it using a Fedora 21 thin-client connected to a RHEL6 server using xdmcp.  I
was then able to reproduce it using a Fedora 20 laptop running pure X (no
window manager, no compositing).  If I then enable compositing, by running
xcompmgr, I can no longer reproduce the bug.  Finally, I was then able to
reproduce it under KDE by disabling "desktop effects" (alt-shift-F12 to
toggle), which disables compositing.

I don't have access to a native MS Windows machine right now, but I tried and
failed to reproduce this under MS Windows 7 using VirtualBox.  In the past, I
have been able to reproduce similar compositing bugs in MS Windows (Vista and
earlier) by setting all visual effects to "best performance" (Control
Panel->System->Advanced system settings->Performance).  I'll try a few more
tests later, but we can probably mark this "Linux only."

It also appears that it's only reproducible when the cells have no direct
formatting (using the default style).  So, one workaround is to select all
affected cells and simply reapply the current font.  And once the cell's font
has been changed, it will remain fixed for that session, even if you clear
direct formatting.

The LibreOffice code-base dates from an era when:
  a) rendering was impossibly slow and
  b) window managers didn't keep copies of occluded windows.

The world has move on since 1995 ;-) as such we should hack some of the
complexity out here. The currently vcl/ menu structure literally screen-shots
the area underneath a popup menu, stores it, tries to track if it is drawn over
while the menu is up (to invalidate it), and then restores that afterwards.

At least - that's what it looks like checkout:

vcl/source/window/floatwin.cxx

checkout 'EnableSaveBackground' and others. In a nutshell I think we want to
have:

vcl/inc/svdata.hxx:boolmbNoSaveBackground;
// true: save background is unnecessary or even less performant

set - unconditionally true for all backends: and just push that through the
code to remove the horrors =)

Ah, good catch!

But this behaviour does'nt make much sense to me. One of the most interesting
uses of frames is to have them anchored to a page, separate from the main text,
so that you don't interrupt its flow. If you can't anchor the frame to the
page, the whole strategy fails. (FWIW, this solution was recommended recently
here:

I would think that when a paragraph type is set to align vertically via the
register-true feature, it should have the priority. If you don't want it, you
wouldn't configure the paragraph type like this.

Filtering Cells but in rows

The past two files was with merged cells between 2 or more columns, but in this
new file, the merged cells are in the same column. Indeed, if you merged cells
in the same column and then apply the filter and you select to hide one group
of merged cell, identifies with a number in the file, Column "A", it only hide
the first row of the group.

Archive with master document and two chapters

If you extract the attached .zip file, open the master document and update the
links by clicking on Yes in the dialog on start, you'll notice inconsistencies
in the numbering:
- Number I is for the first occurrence of style "Titre de partie" (Level 1)
- Number II is for the first occurrence of style "Titre de chapitre" (Level 2)
- Number III is for the second occurrence of style "Heading 1" (Level 3)

This mess is also visible in the Table of contents.

Now, if you go to Tools -> Outline numbering, and click OK, everything goes
back to normal.

I found the same bug in Calc:

LibreOffice 5.0 - Fatal Error

SEH Exception: ACCESS VIOLATION

and after reopening Calc, the file restore enters an endless loop of restore
operations, i got out of it by selecting "Ignore restore" and then i got the
option to save the document in another location, with no data loss

In my case the bug was initiated by clicking "print preview"!

I can't reproduce the Bug

I'd agree adding greater precision is usually better than less, but in the case
of at least scientific research the correct number of significant figures is
quite important. The other examples such as currency I mentioned earlier, or
maybe entering a product number which contains a decimal place and has lots of
trailing zeros.

Ya, I think just being able to disable the auto-correct option for removing
trailing zeros would be ideal. Infact the only reason I can think of for that
auto-correct feature is strictly aesthetics. And how many people enter trailing
zeros that they want auto-removed? In my experience it's be more of a burden
than a benefit. So I'd almost suspect disabling that auto-correct feature by
default would be more useful for most people.

Although this isn't a super critical enhancement, I think this would be too
difficult to implement and for those who it would benefit it would make this
software more streamlined to use and thus stand out that much more. So I'd
suggest boosting the importance of it.

I most certainly think this enhancement should be considered at least medium if
not high priority. I went through undergraduate university and this was one of
the first things I found to be very clunky in all spreadsheet software and
having this feature would be a significant time saver and would benefit most of
the research area and the students. I've had to go through tables of data I've
entered and manually fix numbers. I've checked online and currently the best
solution in either this or Excel is to use a formula. Another field where this
would stand out is for anyone who wants to round numbers such as turning raw
data into user friendly (presentable). For example in finance or statistics one
would prefer to to present all their data to two sig figs for aesthetics (eg
1,342,554 becomes 1,300,000).

Just to give some kind of insight on the impact, about 20% of students are in
math, sciences and engineering for 16 countries. In Canada for example, there
are about 1M undergraduates. So I'd think it would be safe to say at least 3%
of the first-world population per year would likely find this feature to be of
benefit in their spreadsheet software of choice.

I should mention that significant figures also applies to non-decimal numbers
which is just as important as decimals. For example 123456 with 3 sig figs
would be 123000 or if someone divides 1100/3.0 the result should be shown as
370 not 367 or 366.667, but it is important not to round anything other than
visually so as not to incorporate rounding errors into subsequent calculations.

Another important part of significant figures is the rounding rules (see
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rounding) There would have to be a few options
for cases where the first non-significant figure is a 5. Normally one would
round up (ex 1.25 to 2 sig figs becomes 1.3) but there are also cases where one
may not want to round or and the case of 'round half to even'.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Launch the attached accessible-event listener in a terminal
2. Launch Calc
3. Arrow around (as a sanity check, to see events)
4. Try one or more of the following:
   a. Shift + arrow around to select cells
   b. Press F8 to enter selection mode and arrow around to select cells
   c. Press Shift+Space to select the current row
   d. Press Ctrl+Shift+Space to select the current column

Expected results: For 4a, 4b, 4c, and 4d there would be an accessible event
(such as object:state-changed:selected and/or object:selection-changed) to
notify ATs like Orca that the selection has changed.

Actual results: For 4a, 4b, 4c, and 4d there are no selection-related
accessible events.

Impact: Orca cannot present selection changes in Calc because Orca doesn't know
they have occurred.

Note: You should see object:active-descendant-changed when you arrow around
without selecting in step 3. I'm leaning towards
object:active-descendant-changed NOT being the event emitted when selecting
because the active cell seems to remain the one with the bold, black rectangle
around it. That said, we're not seeing that event either. If that event were
emitted when the selection changed it would be better than the nothing we are
currently getting; but if I get a choice for the to-be-implemented event, I'd
like a selection-related one. :)

Lastly, I can reproduce this in both 4.4.5.2 and 5.0.0.5. (I don't think the
bug was introduced in 4.4.5.2, however.)
