[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95792] Lock missing when saving a file with a new name on a webdav server

2015-11-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95792

--- Comment #6 from Giuseppe Castagno (aka beppec56)
 ---
lnunes:

In order to understand what is going on, I prepared a special crafted version
of LO, adding textual logging to
the WebDAV layer.

I built it myself, it's derived from master branch, you may download it from
here:

http://www.acca-esse.it/dwnld/lo/LibreOfficeDev_5.1.0.0.alpha1_Win_x86_en-US_it_fr_de_qtz.msi

The source code of this specific version is in github:

https://github.com/beppec56/core/commit/eaa7856aa68355db39d16eca93a9cada0cee63e3

Install following the instruction here:

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel/Windows

I'd suggest you use the SI-GUI application:

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel/Windows#SI-GUI

when installed, you may start it and repeat the test that fails.

Then close LO to save all the log generated during the run phase.
The logs, in textual form, with the installation folder as in
C:\test-lo\lo5100a1 folder,
are available in the following folder:

C:\test-lo\lo5100a1\user\logs

They are saved in textual Linux format so to open them you need an editor like
Netpad++:

https://notepad-plus-plus.org

Before posting them here, have a look to see if they contain any sensible
information, edit it if you find it necessary.

Then zip and attach here.

Thanks.

Well, tried frw other docs from the same source and it does the same. Maybe it
is some often used quirk in some word versions?

Otherwise I agree that the document is badly created, you can't expect anything
other from government funded stuff.

Also it seems googledoc interprets it correctly.

Steps to reproduce.
1) create a new presentation
2) set slide to "title, content" page
3) add a few lines of content
4) resize content box so that font size gets automatically reduced
5) save as pptx (Office Open XML or Powerpoint version)

--- Comment #7 from Armin Le Grand ---
Found the place where the Items get exported. All in all, the HTML im/export is
pretty old and not in good shape. It ses the writer core directly and there is
a fixed table mapping ItemIDs to function pointers for creating the HTML output
tags - this will break immediately should the ItemIDs ever change.
In that range the new fill attribute items in the [XATTR_FILL_FIRST ..
XATTR_FILL_LAST] range already appear, but are beyond the table
(XATTR_FILLSTYLE is around 1014). Added code to create the classic SvxBrushItem
for now as a fallback to provide the same functionality as before. Checked for
im/export of paragraph background.
Paragraph background re-import with bitmap does not work yet, gradient shows
the expected fallback, hatch seems too dark (using only hatch color?).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 91452] Assigning Formats by Formula Help

2015-11-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91452

In the help for "Assigning Formats by Formula"
(https://help.libreoffice.org/Calc/Assigning_Formats_by_Formula/it), page last
modified on 2015-09-28, I still read wrong instructions.
At items 5 and 6:
5. Contrassegnate i campi Espressione regolare e Solo nella selezione. Fate
clic su Trova tutto.
Vengono evidenziate tutte le celle con un contenuto che sono state selezionate.
6. Fate clic su Sostituisci tutto.

Well,in item 5, if you don't say to firstly extend “+ Altre opzioni” you cannot
see and select those fields.
Then, the sentence “vengono evidenziate ...” is a bad translation, difficult to
understand. I again suggest “Tutte le celle precedentemente selezionate, con un
contenuto, sono ora evidenziate.” that is the literal translation of “All cells
with contents, that were included in the selection, are now highlighted”,
perfectly understandable.

After item 6, you have to add:
7. Fate clic su Chiudi.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95952] New: LibreOffice crashes when accessing empty clipboard through a simple macro

2015-11-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95952

Bug ID: 95952
Summary: LibreOffice crashes when accessing empty clipboard
through a simple macro
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: BASIC
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rolan...@free.fr

LibreOffice 5.0.2.3 crashes on Windows when executing this simple macro (which
purpose is to get and manipulate the clipboard content):

Sub Main
Dim oClip as Variant, oClipContents as Variant, oTypes as Variant
oClip = createUnoService(
"com.sun.star.datatransfer.clipboard.SystemClipboard" )
oClipContents = oClip.getContents()
oTypes = oClipContents.getTransferDataFlavors()
End Sub

*and* when the clipboard is empty.

To reproduce:
1. reboot Windows to be sure the clipboard is empty and to be in a safe state
2. lauch Writer and execute the macro
3. you should expect a crash, immediately or after a few seconds, or when
pressing a key

If the clipboard is not empty at step 2, then there is no crash.
On Linux (Ubuntu 15.10), there is no crash even when the clipboard is empty.

The View menu "Handout Master" corresponds to the Display Mode "Handout". Is it
possible to have their labels consistent?

Thank you

Hi Cor,
Thank you for your answer
I am aware of the *useful* drop down menu, but I am more thinking of the dialog
itself (see file attached), where one could directly change the style.
When I am grading papers (i.e. verifying that teh students are following my
instructions on each styles), it is tedious to re-open each time such dialog
(from wherever!)
Cheers
Nicolas

I believe this was fixed by Laszlo already. We also have a nice clear display
and improved legends in the Tools->Options dialog that shows the current state,
and also tags the option as "on next restart".

The lack of clarity there was bad for QA; apologies for that ! hopefully it's
now fixed belt + braces etc. for 5.1 =)

OpenGL is off by default in the next 5.0.x - so hopefully we can fix this more
systmatically for 5.1.0 =)

Thanks !

Hi Tomáš,

I'm temped to call this a corrupt document.
Level 1 outline is created with Heading 1 style, that is linked to outline
numbering (Tools > Outline numbering)
But the pars that I see as level 2, in the screen shot, are Heading 1 too.

Now this is asking for problems ??

Anyway, LibreOffice 3.6.6 to mention one, is action the opposite way: level one
is not numbered, and level 2 is.

What do you think?
Ciao - Cor

Created attachment 120676

This is a spreadsheet that takes ages to load

When opening an excel spreadsheet in calc 5 (latest version), it takes over 2
minutes to load. I have asked a collegue to do the same and it still happens,
which therefore points to calc and not the performance of my computer. (It has
16 GB of memory anyway)
I have checked the box to start libreoffice at bootup, but it makes not
difference. I am opening the spreadsheet from outlook email or opening the file
that save on my desktop. If I use excel, it open within .5 of a second. The
spreadsheet is relatively small. In the strictest confidence I have attached
the spreadsheet. Many thanks

1. Select View menu → Outline
2. Once again select the View menu and there is a dot next to Outline.
This also works for Slide Sorter
3. Select View menu → Normal
4. Once again select the View menu and there is *no* dot next to Normal.
There should be a dot or some indication which Display mode is selected.
Neither does it work correctly for Notes, Slide Master,
   Notes Master, Handout Master

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 92391] LibreOffice Impress User Interface (UI) Combine 'Notes' → 'Normal'

Thank you for your even better solution to point 1 in description,
i.e. Impress Mode selection
which is available in:
Version: 5.1.0.0.alpha1+ (x64)
Build ID: 186f365a2c541c51e404b1fa819f35c9152adaf1
TinderBox: Win-x86_64@62-TDF, Branch:MASTER, Time: 2015-11-19_23:26:12

Perhaps the "Normal Display Mode" could still be improved to utilize the screen
real estate even better with a Notes pane at the bottom of the screen. I'll
endeavor to write (with mock up) a new enhancement for a Normal Display Mode
with a notes pane at the bottom.

The current Notes Display Mode seems to be the "Presenter's Hardcopy/Print
Display Mode" as the current setup for the notes mode is useful to see what a
printed A4 copy would look like and make sure the notes fit on an A4 sheet of
paper.

However, as the Impress Mode selection resolves point 1 in description setting
status to RESOLVED.

Thank you once again!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95955] New: EDITING/FILESAVE: getting rid of bitmap imported as page background is impossible

2015-11-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95955

Bug ID: 95955
Summary: EDITING/FILESAVE: getting rid of bitmap imported as
page background is impossible
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: sergio.calleg...@gmail.com

If you go to the page properties dialog, you have the option of importing a
bitmap to use as the page background.

Obviously, your bitmap is then saved with the file.

Now, suppose that by mistake you used a very very very big file and you decided
that this was not a good idea.

You go to the page properties again, and you say that you want no page
background. Then you save the file. Unfortunately, the file size does not
change a bit and the bitmap you used as your background is still saved inside
the file.

Furthermore, for some reasons, once you have imported a bitmap, it is not
listed among the available bitmaps in the "area->bitmaps" dialog, so you cannot
delete it even from there. Neither the bitmap file appears in the document
navigator.

Editing the styles.xml file in a text editor to remove the corresponding bitmap
entries works but is a bit of a burden.

   Product: LibreOffice

  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jonat...@ernstfamily.ch

I was only able to reproduce it (every time) on Windows 10 with French
LibreOffice (5.0.2.2 and 5.0.3.2)

Note : On my Linux computer I don't have this issue.
Note : might be locale related (I have seen similar bug reports for the German
version, not reproducible in English but that might be another bug)

Steps to reproduce :

Fresh Libreoffice install
Fresh libreoffice profile

1) Open LibreOffice Writer
2) Tools-> Mail merge wizard
3) Next
4) Next
5) Click on select address list

-> Crash every single time

Thanks a lot.

I can reproduce this described behaviour, but I don't think this is bug.

If I have a presentation opened with a specific design and then open a new
presentation this design is not automatically transferred to the new
presentation and I think this is correct. If I want to use that design it
should be saved as a Template File and then the new presentation should be
opened based on that template.

@Sue : thank you for the screenshot you sent me directly.

What you are seeing is the Gallery, which contains sets of images that can be
dragged and dropped into your documents.

This can be turned on and on/off :

- in versions 4.3.x and lower : via the Gallery switch button, which is in the
main toolbar in Writer on the top line of buttons, the 4th button from the
right ;

- alternatively, in LO 4.3.x and lower, via the menu Tools - Gallery

- in versions 4.4.x and higher : via the menu View - Clipart Gallery, or
alternatively via Insert - Media - Clipart Gallery

Not a bug, I'm afraid.

Alex

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95915] Windows 8.1 and 10 using system Segoe UI Symbol rather than OpenSymbol for displaying Operator

Until this can be corrected, as this affects Windows users only, a reasonable
work around is to perform a LibreOffice font substitution (Tools -> Options ->
Fonts): replacing OpenSymbol with Cambria Math -- a font present on all MS
Windows releases since MS Vista.

@Andras, noticed in bug 76239 (though that OpenSymbol install issue is not
related to this at all) that you're working in Windows 8.1--any thoughts here
about OS' Segoe UI font selection and non-use of OpenSymbol for specific
dialogs?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 91817] Insertion and link areas of 'spreadsheet' from LO Calc in a LO Writer document.

2015-11-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91817

Summarizing the question: I had the need to integrate a document (text) with
data copied and linked from a spreadsheet but I didn't find any help about, so
I posted a request in the forum but nobody replied. Having then resolved myself
the goal, I suggested an help text to add, instructing about how to do.
Again and still no one response, is there any reason?

Here I report again my instructions:
>From Calc: select cell or cells-area to insert in the doc.
In Writer: point to where to apply, select Copy-paste -> link DDE.
After pasting you can adjust boards and characters of the linked data.
>From Edit -> Links you can display all linked objects and manage them; if
"automatic update" is checked (I think as default) every update to the Calc
sheet is reflected into the Writer document, elsewhere you can click on
"Update" to do that.
Reopening the Writer file you'll be asked if you wish updating (YES|NOT): every
change applied to the Calc sheet shall be or not reflected into the Writer
document.

Some warnings:
Warning 1: in the ODT, about the comment, I wrote "← double-click to display
comments": it is not always so.
In my sample (it is an ODT migrated from a WinWord DOC) it is true; if you
create a new comment from LO Writer you can display it only by View→Comments.
(I don't know why, may be some developer could explain ...???).

Warning 2: opening the ODT doc you are asked if you wish updating YES|NOT.
Replying YES every change applied to the Calc sheet willl be reflected into the
Writer doc ... but now if you want to save the updated file, the "SAVE" menu
option is inhibited and also clicking on "X" the file will not saved; you have
to exit by "Save As". Considering this a bug, I posted as Bug 91345.

Warning 3: linked objects are drive/folder dependent. If you move the Calc
sheet to a different location you'll have to modify or recreate the links in
the Writer doc."
(for this, in "LO W-C odtsample.odt" objects are linked to "D:..", so if
you have only C: drive, use the modified version "LO W-C odtsample(C).odt" with
links to C:.")

Then a last question: the only thing I am not able to do is the alignment of
linked data with my test. e.g., in my sample I'd like to align the date getting
"This is my document dated 2015-05-15".
(how to do ???)

At http://1drv.ms/1Prcw7M you can find my samples:
LO W-C odssample the spreadsheet
LO W-C odtsample the document with links from the sheet stored in drive D:\
LO W-C odtsample(C) the document with links from the sheet stored in drive C:\

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95915] Windows 8.1 and 10 using system Segoe UI rather than OpenSymbol for displaying some Operators

Spent more time in the font charts using BableMap -- so the only symbols being
assigned from Segoe UI rather than OpenSymbol are where the font glyph actually
exists in Segoe UI (v 5.53 on Windows 10). Unfortunately that is not a full set
of glyphs for the Mathematical Operators Unicode block. Those are defined in
Segoe UI Symbol, but those are not pulled.

Result in LibreOffice (and AOO) is a mix of OpenSymbol and Segoe UI in formula,
unless a font replacement is specified for OpenSymbol, which itself is weird.

Leading to the development question "Why are MS Windows 8, 8.1 and 10
substituting the system front for our OpenSymbol usage?" and "How do we prevent
it?".
