[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99044] New: Formatting "shortcurcuit" if div/0 combined with max, min, large or small.

2016-04-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99044

Bug ID: 99044
Summary: Formatting "shortcurcuit" if div/0 combined with max,
min, large or small.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.5.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: karlhaffnerlol...@web.de

If you take a range of cells and one of them is div/0 and you use a formula
like this formatting

value equals large(range,2)

then the complete range gets formatted, even if only 1 value is div/0.

You can't avoid that even with iserror as far as I have tested.

Maybe this is intended behaviour but I would expect that div/0 takes rank 1 and
the rest is ranked as usual.

@Björn, this feature request is for LibreOffice *itself* to provide a search
box where one can find menu commands. Of course, this will be redundant with
Ubuntu Unity’s HUD feature, but this functionality is lacking in all the other
platforms LibreOffice runs on.

Miguel, thank you for pointing out that menu option. I will change it.

No need to reopen this bug report for me. However, considering the dangers of
not realizing your spreadsheet cells aren't being recalculated, I would offer
the suggestion that you consider making "recalculate on file load" the default
setting. That seems like the most logical thing to me for the average user. I
would think it's only power users who would have a need to NOT automatically
recalculate cells - and they are the ones who would know enough to be
acquainted with the setting and turn it off.

Thank you again for your quick and helpful responses!

2016-04-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99039

Hi, Miguel -

Yes, that does fix it. Like I said, recopying the formula from a cell higher up
in the column fixed it, too.

The larger issue, as far as I'm concerned, is that I never would have even
realized the cells weren't calculating correctly if the error hadn't been such
an obvious one. That's the part that worries me. What if I hadn't noticed?

Thank you for the instructions on how to do a hard reset. I had seen reference
to that term in another bug report and thought F9 was what they were talking
about. I guess I'd better add that as a precautionary maintenance step to my
regular routine, but certainly a "failure to calculate" isn't normal?? I'm
assuming the problem is in fact a bug, even if it is fixable. I'm by no means a
power spreadsheet creator, but I have been using them for a couple of decades
for relatively simple stuff, and this is the first time I've ever run into this
issue. (That I'm aware of, lol.)

Hello,

Like i report here : https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=774399

I have seen another reason of slowness, very slowprocess of Libreoffice.
The problem arrives without nfs sharing.

I see the problem with "Jessie Libreoffice 4.3.3-2+deb8u3" and with
"fr.libreoffice.org LibreOffice 5.0.5".

If you have for example an file in a directory : /home/toto/Documents/file.odb

If you do:
$ ln -s /home/toto/Documents/file.odb /home/toto/Desktop/file
or
$ ln -s /home/toto/Documents /home/toto/Desktop/Documents
or
an other "ln -s" to access to the file

If you open the file trough /home/toto/Desktop/file or
/home/toto/Desktop/Documents (tested with a file browser), the problem arrives.

It seems that Libreoffice don't like open a file trough a directory that is not
the real file directory.

Cédric

Note that clicking on the taskbar buttons for open applications is not how one

Currently impress supports the glTF format for 3D models, but the largest
amount of 3D models arent in this format, so it would be useful to support a
wider range of 3D model formats. I stumbled on Assimp today which is a
BSD-licensed C++ 3D import and export library that supports a wide range of
formats and believe it maybe possible to integrate this into LO.

Worksheet with cells that aren't calculating correctly

Sorry, I am not used to reporting bugs, so I'm not sure I'm filling out this
form properly. This bug may be related to other reported bugs, but I don't know
enough about all the terminology I'm seeing on this site to be able to
determine that myself. My hope is that someone more knowledgeable than I will
direct this where it needs to go.

I'm attaching a spreadsheet of a loan amortization table that contains cells
which aren't calculating properly. (And using F9 does not solve the problem,
either.) This is a scary issue to me, because if it weren't so obvious (due to
the round figure of $2,000 each time) I might never have noticed. This has
shaken my trust in the integrity of all my LibreCalc spreadsheets, thus I've
labeled it 'critical'.

HISTORY:

The spreadsheet was originally created in EXCEL. The conversion to ODS was done
in an earlier version of CALC, but I have no recollection which one (it was
over three years ago).

There are two worksheets in this file. The original conversion is contained in
the worksheet named "10 Years at 2.5%". The "Actual Payments" worksheet is the
one that has been modified each month as payments were made. I have highlighted
in pink the cells that are a problem.

If you would like a copy of the original XLS file, I can provide that as well.
Just let me know.

Thank you.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99038] New: Find with character formatting is broken

2016-04-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99038

Bug ID: 99038
Summary: Find with character formatting is broken
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.1.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: pbpub...@gmail.com

I'm trying to do a straightforward Replace operation and running into several
problems.

I have an .odt file of about 180kb. It originally was a .doc, and consequently
some of the text that was colored is only listed as "User" when I select the
text and look under Properties / color.

Problem 1: This means I cannot do a font color search based on LO color specs.
There is no "search for similar formatting" command that I know of.
Consequently I must use a workaround. I underlined all text, then intended to
search for text with the "Automatic" color set. This would be all text not
originally colored. In Replace I specced Without underlining. This would leave
me with only the colored text underlined, and I then could do a search for
underlined text and change the color.

But several more problems arose.

Problem 2: the Replace All search repeatedly hangs at 50% CPU, for upwards of
an hour. I finally have to force LO down. I have a Core2Due @2.4GHz, 4GB RAM. I
run LO 5.1.1.3 x64 .deb, and I have dramatically upped its memory allotment in
Options.

Problem 3: When speccing the "Automatic" color setting in the Find field, it
enters "White" instead. This appears to be a mere labeling error.

Problem 4: When doing a trial Replace (not Replace All), the search finds the
underlined text but does not remove the underlining.

So I've got several layers of failure with what I would think is a
straightforward function.

PICT is definitively a historic format, that's not why it would be removed. We
want to support history formats if we can them well.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99037] New: Impress animations on text frames has incosistent editing behaviour

2016-04-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99037

Bug ID: 99037
Summary: Impress animations on text frames has incosistent
editing behaviour
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.5.2 release
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: silva...@katamail.com

Open an Impress document, create a text frame with 2 or more paragraphs in it
Then open the sidebar for the animation properties, and assign any effect to
it.
The effect is by default assigned to each paragraph separately, each requiring
a separate click to be shown. Now for the problems:
1) the animation settings Button in the sidebar, which is available for other
objects when you assign an effect to them, is not available (greyed out) while
it should be usable
2) you can still obtain the setting dialog window via the context menu in the
effects list above; however, if you switch the text animation grouping setting
to "as a whole", instead of obtaining the desired result, the effect vanishes
completely. It should instead maintain the effect, but apply it only once to
the whole text frame
3) while for other objects (e.g. shapes, bitmaps, etc.) with animation effects,
if you select them, the selection is mirrored on the effects list (i.e. the
effect associated to the selected object appears selected as well), this does
not happen for text frames (either single- or multi-paragraph). Even if you
have an effect on them, you select the object in the slide but its effect is
not shown as selected in the animation list. This is quite annoying, since it
is useful to be able to tell what effects each object has when clicking on
them; it is also inconsistent, since it is hard to guess why some object do and
others do not have such behaviour.

When converting a selection of text to a table in Writer, there should be an
option to spec the desired number of columns. I currently have some text, all
separated by paragraph returns, that I would like to make into a two-column
table. That seems impossible without, possibly, changing some of the delimiters
before the conversion.

I'm in LO 5.1.1.3 x64 .deb.

Windows 10.
I'm experiencing innumerable errors in the IDE with Calc. Most of them are not
reproducible because sometimes they happen, and then click F5 to rerun and they
don't occur or a different error occurs.
Several themes appear apparent that may help trace them:-
* You add a line (even one that doesn't do anything) in one place and a
completely different and unrelated line suddenly gets an error. One hardly
knows how to go about debugging!
* Sometimes you have an error in a procedure but you go to a calling procedure
(maybe it doesn't matter where really) and put a space in and remove the space
again and the error is fixed.
* Doing something minor in the IDE (maybe even scrolling) whilst saving in the
IDE causes a libreoffice crash and document recovery.
These are highly unreproducible/consistent, except maybe the last :) I'll add
any further comments as I understand it better.
Cheers,
d

Please look into

The second one looks to be thrown because the first is thrown. (Direct
consequence I guess). We can get this from the stack trace.

And the above two get repeated 3 times for a total of 6 exceptions thrown.

This is probably because there are three sender fields - 'sender-city',
'sender-postal-code' and 'sender-street' in the content.xml

I am trying to use Libre Base v5.1.1.3 on my Windows 7 64-bit PC to connect to
an Advantage Data Server table using Advantage JDBC (ADS is running on a SLES
11 SP4 VM). Using Advantage Arc v.11.10.0.24 on my Windows PC, I created a new
Data Dictionary called 'data_test.add' and created a simple table. I installed
the ADS JDBC on my PC, added the class path to Java 1.8 and set up the
connection via the wizard in Base. I tested the 'Test Class' and 'Test
Connections' and those all work. The issue seems to be with my
'JDBC:extendedsystems:advantage://ads-srv:6262;Catalog=//ads-srv/data/data_test.add'
Data Source URL and the ADS file extension of my Dictionary name which is .add.
That add is being striped from the URL path and added to my Table names for
some reason (See attachment). When I click on the table in Base I get the error
"The data content cannot be loaded" and file not found because the name of the
table is being changed from tblusers to add.tblusers.

The cursor still stays activ at the position until the cell is changed

It was tested with grafic accelleration and without. Also with GL and without.

Linux (Suse Leap with KDE) with 5.0.4 doesn't show this error, but 5.1.3 shows
it. It seems, that the error has entered at 5.0.5, because this version shows
the error on Windows 7.

To reproduce:

1. enter something in a cell
2. leave and reenter
3. move the cursor with the cursorkeys an the keyboard
4. a "copy" of the cursor will stay at the position, where the cursor was set

This is a plain text file, and has nothing to do with RTF. :-)

In a dbgutil build I also see:

OdtGenerator: Document Body: Finished writing all doc els..

So probably the strikethrough text is caused by one of the DLP import libs
volunteering to import the doc and then not handling plain text input.

David: any idea? ;-)

The default writer table border width (0,05pt) is so small it is useless.

It seems to work fine when viewed on-screen and rounded to one pixel, but as
soon as you try to print the result you realise all the tables lines are
air-thin and not presentable.

Many users, afters having to restyle all their tables after the first print
test, will conclude the application is not ready.

Hair-thin print borders are no substitute for proper table line shadows when
pi-mode is engaged.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 98316] FORMATTING Dotted lines should really be dots and not short dashes

Setting to NEW. It would appear to be a somewhat simple change to render square
dots, but more complicated if actual round dots were desired.

Comments from Armin Le Grand on IRC:

There are different table implementations in all apps.
The ones in Draw/Impress get rendered using primitives, the others probably in
VCL.
For VCL: The line defs there allow dashed/dotted lines, but also dots have a
length. Thus rendering could therorethically be changed to paint a 'real' dot
when width == height.
The primitives involved have a line style definition, also containing dot and
dash values (lineWidth, dash/dot/space length).
If rendered using direct system commands (not used currently AFAIK) it may be
translated to real dots in setting up the system-specific output.
When decomposing currently basegfx is used to create squares, so could also be
changed there.
So, quite some changes to paint 'real' dots everywhere, but all possible.
I think the reason this was never done is that real dots are much more
expensive when handling self - a circle as Polygon with beziers, compared to a
rectangle.

OpenGl would not help - it also can not directly draw dashed/dotted fat lines
(also needs LineCap, LineStartend, not only DashDot support)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99020] New: Auto-fill crash

2016-04-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99020

Bug ID: 99020
   Summary: Auto-fill crash
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.4.0.3 release
  Hardware: IA64 (Itanium)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: dl6...@t-online.de

Created attachment 124007

Example that causes crashes when using Auto-Fill

Trying to use "Auto-Fill" of the red cells that contain formula in the appended
example over nearly 1000 lines always causes a crash of Calc.

Using Auto-Fill step-by-step over 100-200 lines works fine.

Hello,
For the test, could you rename your LibreOffice directory profile (see

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 55066] FILEOPEN: flaws in importing 123 files

2016-04-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=55066

Trying to fix import cell borders, the only reference I find to borders is in
lotattr.cxx:

const ScPatternAttr& LotAttrCache::GetPattAttr( const LotAttrWK3& rAttr )

void LotAttrCache::LotusToScBorderLine( sal_uInt8 nLine,
::editeng::SvxBorderLine& aBL )

The last 2 methods are the only ones deal with borders in the
sc/source/filter/lotus/ folder.

But neither of them are executed when importing a .123 file. So at the moment I
guess I have to call those methods someway to start fixing this bug.

Am I right ?

If anyone would like to aport some light he will be more than welcome.

Jay's crasher here looks like it is down to trying to save some UI / user data
after the application has de-initialized. I believe there was another bug for
that somewhere. I imagine kendy recalls which one that was =)

I use Windows 8.1 64-bit and LO 5.1.1.3, ODT format

Usually, I work with big documents, but have never had problems with saving
documents. Saving lasts a very long time or just hangs and I need to kill the
process because I can't work with the document. The document contains many
formatting styles, images and is big (1500 pages). For me the bug is critical
because I can't edit the document and save changes.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99017] New: Cannot import non-csv file into Calc

2016-04-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99017

Bug ID: 99017
Summary: Cannot import non-csv file into Calc
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: pascal@gmail.com

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:29.0) Gecko/20100101
Firefox/29.0
Build Identifier: LibreOffice 4.4.3.2

It seems not to be possibly to import a text file with an extension other that
.csv into Calc. Renaming it works of course, but this is an awkward work-around
if other applications rely on a different extension.

I tried: https://help.libreoffice.org/Calc/Importing_and_Exporting_CSV_Files
but selecting "text CSV" as file type just makes the selected file disappear
and the "Ok" button being greyed out.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create text file with spread sheet data with extension other than csv
2. Start Calc and go to File->Open
3. Select the file.
4. If you click "open", it will open in Writer instead of calc
5. If you select "text CSV" as suggested, it is deselected and one cannot
proceed

Expected Results:
I'd expect either an option to force-open any file regardless of its name in
Calc, or a special "import text" option.

Locale: en-US
Module: SpreadsheetDocument
[Information guessed from browser]
OS: Linux (All)
OS is 64bit: yes
