Checkboxes are not the shapes.
They are characters of embedded Wingdings font.
This is definitely the same problem as Bug 63834.
But I don't know which of this reports should be closed.

I've switched to Mint lately, so I've also reinstalled LO from scratch - no
profil was imported from old data, but almost nothing changed. One thing: now I
can grab and pull corners of dialog window (it was impossible earlier, but I
think it was not problem with LO), so I can spread it enough to change value I
need.

When you use Tab to move to the cell on the right (or Shift+Tab to move left),
Calc should track where you started. After you press Enter, it should use this
to move to 1 cell below the start position. This functionality needs to be
disabled for  "Shift+Enter".

I think it's plausible that this is a duplicate of bug 99607, yes.

But please note the UI error noted in comments 10 and 11 - the text describes
actions that LO does not do.  I think the text is wrong: I don't see why LO
should offer to save files into your home directory.  That is just likely to
lead to user confusion, with conflicting versions of documents.

So I'm glad LO does NOT do what its auto-recovery dialogs say it WILL do!

@Colin: You are right, reason is not the outline level; although that is wrong
too. But the paragraph has an additional numbering set. If you right-click the
paragraph and then item "Bullets", you will see, that the "Remove"
button is active. When you click that button the (hidden) numbering is removed
and indent will work as expected.

There might be indeed some problems when numbering and outline are mixed. I see
the similar bug 93495.

The normal behavior is that indent of list styles prevail over those from
paragraph.

[To keep chord and word together you can (miss-)use the feature "Write in
double lines" from the "Asian Layout" tab of a character style.]

LibreOffice 5.2 has a revamped Templates dialog that allows you to see all
templates (Filter > All), regardless of their type. It also allows you to
create custom categories for filtering. You can get 5.2 from the Prereleases
page in libreoffice.org.

Or above vs. below the line in respect to start or end point. This version is
above on the right/end side and below at left/start. Additionally, it looks
like an imperfect placement, esp. when zoomed or at large size.

I have searched a little bit. "half arrowhead" is used:

(mostly drawn filled)
single electron movement
"magnetic north" symbol

(mostly drawn as line)
chemical equilibrium
UML asynchronous message

Search for black/white images and the above phrases give some useful results.

Connecting head and line should work best for a ratio of line width 0.02cm to
arrow head width 0.3cm. That is the ratio assumed in the code. Your proposal
seems a little bit off in that ratio.

In your proposal the arrow head is on the left side. Looking at the pictures I
have seen, it seems that a version with arrow head on the right side is needed
too.

Your path has two zero movements. Why?

pdf-export has an additional line on the right side. I do not know why. It
might be an error in the pdf export.

It's good to hear that you have reproduced the problem. I definitely would not
call it normal behavior. Why should pressing indent cause the highlighted style
to flit randomly between styles just because I'm clicking on indent ?! 

I understand what Outline levels are for, and indeed have used them to create
handy guides for infrequently used unix commands, who's detail can be revealed
by changing the outline level. I have fiddled with that functionality in Libre
Office, and there is a specific icon for changing outline levels. However I
look at it, I can't see why on Earth pressing indent would change the
highlighted style in "Styles & Formatting" window.

The reason why there is so much white space in the file provided, is because I
don't want the spacing between chords to change, which it would do if tabs were
used, because tabs can be configured to represent any number of spaces. The
same applies to gaps between words. The chords and the words have to align
accurately every time, and mono font and use of spaces is the only way to
guarantee that they stay aligned.

The actual template management window is unhelpful for me/us.

At daily work the file type is unimportant, the order is
given by the naming. Therefore the actual separation in text,
calc, ... is more cumbersome than helpful.

More useful would be a tab "my templates" where mixed file types
are possible.

The very best way would to be able to create own tabs like
Sales, Purchase, R And each tab will point to a configurable
template folder. Therefore everyone could use his own organisation
and limit the count of templates in each tab.

Direct export of FTM 2014 RTF prior to opening in Writer

Opening an RTF exported by Family Tree Maker 2014-1, Writer ignores formatting
(tabs, indents, soft returns) and deletes characters.  Yet when I open an RTF
from FTM 2006, Writer works as advertised.  I've attached an RTF exported
directly from Family Tree Maker 2014-1 prior to opening in Writer.

Am also reporting this to MacKiev for them to check their end.

Version 5.0 reached EOL very recently, at the end of May. At all time,
LibreOffice has two maintained versions, the latest one (fresh - currently
5.1), and the previous (still - currently 5.0). The reason for that is there
are users who prefer stability over new features.

Both fresh and still versions get bugfixes, it's just a special time that 5.2
is right before release (expected in August), and 5.0 is not maintained
anymore. As soon as 5.2 arrives, 5.0 users will be notified that they should
update to a newer release. I hope that sufficiently answers your concerns.

I did up-rev to 5.1.3, & after that I was able to open the spreadsheet.  Since
I don't know why LibreOffice was crashing, I don't know whether this is a fluke
or whether the problem is fixed.

I had previously tried to update, using Help->Check for updates, & it told me
that LibreOffice was up to date; so until I entered the item shown above, it
hadn't occurred to me that there might be a newer version.  Why would it check
& then tell me I was up to date, when there was a later rev?  I'd have to call
THAT a bug!

Looks like another duplicate of issue 96607. Same time the issue was initially
reported (end of 2015), same problem.
The initial description of issue 96607 imho perfectly describes the root cause
of the problem with document recovery without going through a long discussion
fist. Also that issue has severity high (which I believe is appropriate in the
case of data loss).

So I suggest you add your issue as a duplicate too.

There's an attempt to set the cursor on drop to the same cell inside the
dropped region as it was in the dragged selection. But the "current cell" is
taken at drop time, and on changing from one sheet to another the cursor is
changed to the new sheet before the drop takes place

Taking a different approach in my project, I discovered this problem also
occurs when changing 'UserDefinedAttributes' in a Cell.  Again, if not unlocked
before changing the attributes, Undo Manager will remain unlocked until the
document is closed and re-opened.  It is exactly the same scenario as
Annotations.

Hi!

Is there a way to include an option that allows (or not) the collect of numbers
in the autocorrection database? In several times, I accidentally type a number
between the letters of a word (as "righ6t"); so, that wrong word goes to the
autocorrection database and, as the numbers appear first in the ASCII order,
this incorrect word will be suggested in the first place, and not the correct
one.

In the other hand, I was thinking about to suggest that words that are not in
the spelling corrector, by definition, could not be inserted in auto correction
database. But I imagine that would be difficult to implement. Despite of this,
I'd like to register this suggestion.

So let us sum up here what I understand about SEH right now.

Ideally we should never handle SEH (even MS warns that this leads to problems).
Now the problem that you are seeing is most likely a difference between the
handling of x86 and x64 in how the unwinding is handled.

the crash reporting shows that our signal handlers work currently as they
translate the SEH to some exception sal exception information and call the
signal handler at that point.
I think after some reading that this happens at different times on x64 and x86
which might explain some of the strange stack traces that we see with the crash
reporting for x64 and your problem of destruction of the OpenGLZone variable
before calling the signal handler.

IMHO the new behavior of using EHs should fix all of that as there is now no
destruction of local objects and as far as my understanding goes the signal
handler should be called as soon as the exception is generated as there is no
catch block any more.

I hope that my understanding of SEH is at least partly correct.

I reproduce the problem. For me, after deleting there remains another triangle
in place of the deleted one.
Note that if you move the triangle somewhat before deleting, the line does not
jump.

You're experiencing the interplay of the StartCenter and the other LO modules.
that is bug 75644 -- in essence the StartCenter acts as a master and launching
from there resets the size location recorded with the components.

The componet modules all remember their settings per user as recorded in the
user profile.

So with a default profile, you open Calc directly (program/scalc.exe) the frame
will be full screen. You can resize/relocate close and reopen and the setting
is persistent.

But if you open to StartCenter with an empty profile, and then launch Calc from
that frame--Calc will open to match the size/location of the StartCenter

What has to be corrected is the linkage between the StartCenter as master
overriding launch of the other modules.  With persistent customization
available to each module now, the StartCenter needs to be demoted and handled
just like the frames for the other modules.  Instead of overwriting profile
settings.

Note that I have the German version of the help, so if the English differs and

It is interesting to see that other letter variants like ŝ or š are not found,
so I wonder if there is a documentation of letters considered "equivalent"
somewhere?

with the latest 5.1 release? At the time this is 5.1.3, but there's also a

One particular spreadsheet only (so far anyway).  It appears that the file
starts to open, then the window just vanishes.  The .~lock file is left behind,
so the next time I try it makes me go through the recovery, then says recovery
was successful, then dies.  A couple of weeks ago the file opened normally.

It killed a LibreOffice Writer file I happened to have open as well, when it
died.  So it appears to be crashing whatever common LibreOffice shared core is
running.

It doesn't appear to matter whether I attempt to run the file from a command
(DOS) prompt, or open it with explorer, or open Calc first & then try to open
it from there.

Rev is actually 5.0.6.3, according to Help->About; that isn't in the list
above.

This is financial information I need to be able to access.  If it were
something else, I'd attach the file, but this isn't something I can just pass
out.

Yes, the drop list of File Type with separators (both in the OS , and in the
native LibreOffice dialogs) can be a little unclear.  Once you *know* it is
there is it trivial to make the correct selection for the intended filter.

Unfortunately because we handle so many file formats and alternative import
filters, the question is if there is a need for benefit of our Benjamin user to
have a more descriptive GUI?

I am not sure it is worth it. We defer by default to the OS/DE to handle the
"File Type" choice for opening/filter import. While our "native" LibreOffice
dialog GUI is kept pretty generic. Is it worth putting effort into the dialog
when we only keep that as a fall back for specialized use (e.g. CMIS).

It's much easier to reply on a use case like "I want to create three lines at
once in order to simulate three columns" (or whatever the reason is). This
leads to the following:

#1: I don't understand the use case.
#2: Lines can have a shadow. You can also copy/paste and adjust the position by
the cursor keys. A raster is achieved much easier, read
https://help.libreoffice.org/Common/Grid for more info.
#3: You can easily change the snap range in the options. Keep in mind that a
huge number of users should work efficiently with the tool. Our default might
not fit everyone but most.

What remains is the suggestion
>- "To object frame" is not checked, should be checked
>- "To object points" is not checked, should be checked

Having block diagrams in mind as the major purpose for Draw nothing speaks
against this change. But on the other hand we have connectors that does the
snap job pretty good. So I vote for keeping the options as it is. Opinions?

The .docx file opened in Office365

When saving an .odt wich contained a background image in his header as a .docx
the background image doesn't show up

STEPS:
*Add an header clicking on the header zone and then clicking on the + symbol in
the Header popup
*Open the dropdown menu in the Header popup
*CLick Format header
*Click the More... button
*Click the Area tab
*Select Bitmap in the Fill dropdown list
*Select one of the default images or use one of your own
*Click Ok
*Save as docx

Only the image disappear. As you see in the screenshots, the text is still
there.

MS Word is not hangs.
I instaled  LO 5.1.4.2 and tested sending emails in MS Outlook with a web link
from MS Word, the result MS Outlook hangs.
