[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103080] New: A new default set of bundled fonts

2016-10-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103080

Bug ID: 103080
Summary: A new default set of bundled fonts
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: needsUXEval
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: philip...@hotmail.com
CC: f...@libreoffice.org, khaledho...@eglug.org,
libreoffice-ux-adv...@lists.freedesktop.org,
qui...@gmail.com, rb.hensc...@t-online.de

I've been researching our current bundled fonts and think its time to do some
cleanup.

Step 1 - Removals
=
The current font bundle takes up 42.5 MB and 45% (19.2 MB) of it is taken up by
the Linux Biolinum G, Linux Libertine Display G, and Linux Libertine G fonts
and think they should be the first to go as they takes up way to much space,
they arent highly used fonts, and Khaled Hosney mentioned that "they are
unmaintained, and of limited value if we move to have OpenType features
everywhere."

The next thing on the chopping block would be the second largest font
collection that takes up 22% (9.2 MB), Deja Vu. This Bitstream Vera derivative
which has been around since OOo 2.4 is still being updated, but only has had 5
revisions since LO was created and has limited language support (Latin, Greek,
Cyrillic, Armenian, Georgian). If letting go complete of Deja Vu isnt agreed
upon, then I'd suggest we reduce its size by 45% (to 5.1 MB) by removing the
Condensed and ExtraLight versions.

Step 2 - Replacements
=
In order to eliminate bundling similar and/or derivative fonts, we can
substitute less useful fonts with others, similar to when Bitstream Vera was
replaced by DejaVu. Open Sans resembled Droid Sans and has limited language
support (Latin, Greek and Cyrillic) and doesnt have a serif equivalent that we
can bundle. So we should replace this with the Droid derivative Noto font
family, which has both sans and serif and unlimited language support, but i
would suggest limiting the languages to what is covered in Deja Vu to begin
with, which would take up 3.1 MB. (Tomaz and Adolfo both recommended this in
bug 91150)

Step 3 - Additions
==
With the removals and replacements, the fonts now take up ~16 MB and we can
begin not only adding english fonts but open source fonts for languages we
previously didnt support through our bundled fonts.

I will include addition suggestions in follow up comments on the bug report
once my research has completed.

My research is being done with others in the community on Google Drive and here
are links to the various spreadsheets that are being working on. You are

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103079] New: List numbering restart does not work from paragraph styles

2016-10-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103079

Bug ID: 103079
Summary: List numbering restart does not work from paragraph
styles
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: octa...@alvarezp.org

Description:
List numbering restart does not work if applied from a paragraph style.

Steps to Reproduce:
# New document

# Create numbering style "question numbers":
  - Set style to 1. 2. 3.
  - Set position for level 1 to:
- Aligned at: 0
- Num alignment: Left
- Num followed by: Space
- indent at: 0

# Create numbering style "answer numbers":
  - Set style to a) b) c)

# Create paragraph style "question", derived from "Text body":
  - Set numbering style to "question numbers"

# Create paragraph style "answer", derived from "Text body":
  - Set numbering style to "answer numbers"

# Create paragraph style "first answer", derived from "answer":
  - Set Restart Numbering from 1.

# Type "How much is 10+10?" and set it to paragraph style "question".

# Type 4 paragraphs containing possible answers, and set the first one to
paragraph style "first answer" and the other three to paragraph style "answer":
  - 10
  - 20
  - 30
  - 40

# Type "How much is 100+100?" and set it to paragraph style "question".

# Type 4 paragraphs containing possible answers, and set the first one to
paragraph style "first answer" and the other three to paragraph style "answer":
  - 100
  - 200
  - 300
  - 400

Actual Results:
answer option "100" does not restart numbering. Options 100 to 400 are numbered
as options e) to f).

Expected Results:
answer option "100" should restart numbering. Options 100 to 400 should have
been numbered as options a) to d).

Reproducible: Always

This bug might relate to bugs 49171, 81012, 91296, 94621, 100287 and 100290 but
I think it's also likely to be different.

When I set the left header and right header to be different for my novels, it
seems that:
1) The paragraph style "Header left" is used on the right pages *sometimes*
through my novel, and I have to manually set the paragraph style in the header
to be "Header Left"
2) The reverse situation sometimes applies
3) As well, sometimes on a left page, the header's *contents* are the
cocontents of a right page, and I have to manually copy the contents of a left
page into the already "Header left" style paragraph, before the right contents
appear.
4) The reverse is also true for some right pages.

In addition, on some pages, it's hard to say what the header's paragraph style
really is. When you click into the header, the UI element that appears and
shows the style sometimes says that the style is "First Page Header (___

* MariaDB 10.1 (the latest version)
* unixODBC v. 2.3.1-3  (the latest version)

2016-10-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon

This bug appears to be more widespread than just where I reported it before. I
am also seeing similar behavior under "Use Wizard to Create Form..."

In other words, going forward is ok. But going back gets messed up quickly.

I have two tables:

---
Categories:

Category ID
Category
---

Items:

Item ID
Category ID
Item
---

1. Select Table Categories. >>Add all fields to the form. Next>
2. Check Add Subform. * Subform based on manual selection of fields. Next>
3. Select Table Items. >>Add all fields to the form. Next>
4.(this click does nothing!)
(we skipped #2)
3. Next> (this click does nothing!)
(we skipped #4)
5.

Just crazy. Probably just a little thing messing this all up. But it clearly
does not behave as I would expect.

What I expect: When I have the choice for "" I would expect
something to happen when I click on it.

It might be reasonable to backup up by 2 at a time.

It does not seem reasonable to go forward skipping a step.

Thanks!

Please attach a document.

I'm hesitant to mark this as NEW just because we are well aware that our image

duplicates of this (or have a similar root problem).

To say the least, we need a document. Marking as NEEDINFO, once you attach,

Low: Default for bugs that do not prevent high quality work.

If you use the "Basic shapes" version you can only drag, but not enter the

You have to use View -> Toolbars -> Legacy rectangles to get one where you can
enter the exact value, which is quite often needed.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103075] New: Text box unmovable

2016-10-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103075

Bug ID: 103075
   Summary: Text box unmovable
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.2.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: j...@gmx.net

Description:
The task is simple.
Text box with one letter over a blue rectangle.
It needs to be repositioned.
That is not possible. See attached document.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Make document, 25cmx40xm.
2. Make rectangle, blue, 0x003b80 to be exact.
3. Make textbox, enter "P", change font size 528
4. Try to move the P up.

Actual Results:
Unmovable text box

Expected Results:
Having the frame fo the text box available to move and reposition it.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
All the help I found via google was "how to add an text box" but not how to
move it or change it's size once it is created.

In this case I'd treat it as a bug. It's not an enhancement, and modifications
to existing dialogs are not needed. Removing UX keyword to forward the issue to

Okay, sounds reasonable. I suggest to show a confirmation dialog when a
path/file cannot get accessed temporarily. And a simple checkbox "[ ] Loop
until next slide" for the other question.

However, since we have two tasks I close this ticket as invalid and ask you
kindly to create two new. Feel free to copy/paste. Having separate issues allow
devs to close one as fixed while the other waits for someone else.

What do we do in case of more than one jump? I mean do we store all (insert an
arbitrary high number) positions and allow to navigate all the way? Sounds like
a breadcrumb task, in this case.
On the other hand, if users have a function similar to undo in mind the last
position is overridden by any operation. I'm afraid it will be rather the first
option, which isn't an easy hack.

(In reply to Dean from comment #2)
> > Any suggestion for a key or..?
> > Since Ctrl+Shift+F5 puts focus in Name Box, maybe Alt+Shift+F5 ?

Horrible complex shortcuts. How should remember this? (And the hand position is
also not comfortable; clicking a button will be more convenient. Users that
want to assign a shortcut can do so, with the option to override
ctrl+left/right, and will remember it.)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 90297] LibreOffice Math dark theme > dark text and background

2016-10-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90297

Hi!

I can confirm that this bug occurs on LO 5.2.2 from libreoffice PPA on Kubuntu
16.04.1 LTS amd64. I'm using dark breeze theme. I set
VCL_ICONS_FOR_DARK_THEME=1 and SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk variables to make LO look
good with my theme.

Also, I found workaround to set Tools → Options → Application Colors → Font
color to White. This solves problem with dark font in LO Math but I hadn't
check if it breaks application look in another place.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103071] New: Thesaurus (synonyms function) derivative word issues

2016-10-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103071

Bug ID: 103071
Summary: Thesaurus (synonyms function) derivative word issues
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: Inherited From OOo
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Linguistic
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: tiagofsanto...@sapo.pt

Description:
Thesaurus (synonyms function) recognizes word variations but it does not apply
them

Steps to Reproduce:
1. For easier testing, select in English (USA) language;
2. type the word "tags";
3. Right click→Synonyms.

Actual Results:
Actual result:
- Show only synonyms: “label”, “rag”, “shred” and others...
- Derivative words (plurals, feminines, derivative verb forms, etc) are
recognized using the affixing rules from en_US.aff. After selecting the
relevant synonym the same affixing rule should be applied, if available for the
target word. This is specially important for prefixes such as in-, un-, dis-.

Expected Results:
Expected result:
- Show only synonyms: “labels”, “rags”, “shreds” and others...

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:

This bug applies to every derived word and affix rule I have tested. This bug
affects all languages. Thesaurus can be constructed around this issue, but that
solution would produce thesaurus files with inviable sizes.

Possible solution:
This might be solved in an easier way.
Recognize the affix used and store it in memory. After selecting the relevant
word, try to apply the same affixing rule with hunspell.
That way, the replaced word correspond in form to the selected word.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103069] New: Context synonyms menu does not show tags available on the corresponding thesaurus

2016-10-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103069

Bug ID: 103069
Summary: Context synonyms menu does not show tags available on
the corresponding thesaurus
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: Inherited From OOo
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Linguistic
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: tiagofsanto...@sapo.pt

This is related to tdf#9, so same example:

- Select in English (USA) language;
- type the word "normally";
- Right click→Synonyms.

Expected result:
- Show only synomyns: “usually”, “unremarkably”, “commonly” and “ordinarily”;
- Alternativelly, it could show also “remarkably (antonym)”.

Atual result:
- “usually”, “unremarkably”, “commonly”, “ordinarily” and “remarkably” are
given as alternatives.
- Antonym tag can be seem using the Thesaurus dialog, pressing Ctrl+F7 over the
word. This procedure shows the expected result.

This bug applies to every tag/extra info that exists inside brackets. This bug
affects all languages and it is not due to thesaurus construction issues.
This is also relevant for all other tags that appear after the words.
Exemplifying:
‘(tag) word (tag)’ should be presented as ‘word (tag)’

Possible solution:
Only strip the content inside parenthesis after selecting the words.
That way, the replaced word does not have extra information, but the user is
given all the relevant information to help him make a good decision.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103068] New: New Database Wizard gets confused between ODBC and JDBC connection if you backup twice to step 1.

2016-10-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103068

Bug ID: 103068
Summary: New Database Wizard gets confused between ODBC and
JDBC connection if you backup twice to step 1.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.2.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Base
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: bridgeportcontrac...@gmail.com

Description:
While working inside the Database Wizard trying to setup ODBC, I noticed that
the Database Wizard gets confused if you first select MySQL-ODBC, then backup
and select ODBC, and then backup again and select MySQL-ODBC.

At that point (step 3) it should ask for the ODBC setup, but instead it asks
for the JDBC setup.

This might or might not have to do with the fact that there are 4 steps from
MySQL setup, and 5 steps for ODBC setup.

Steps to Reproduce:
>From the menu:
  File | New | Database

---Opens the Database Wizard dialog ---
Step1:
* Connect to an existing database: MySQL
Next>>
-
Step2:
* Connect using ODBC
Next>>
-
Step3:
<>
-
Step2:
<>
-
Step2:
* Connect using ODBC
Next>>
-
Step3:
Results: "Set up a connection to a MySQL database using JDBC" dialog.

((BUT, this should be "Set up a connection to a MySQL database using ODBC"))

Actual Results:
Dialog opened: "Set up a connection to a MySQL database using JDBC"

Expected Results:
Dialog should open: "Set up a connection to a MySQL database using ODBC"

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
I may also have a problem w/ ODBC being broken, as I still can't get that to
work without crashing, so stay tuned. :-(

Hello,

currently

1) F-Droid version of Libreoffice Viewer Beta is completly deprecated
2) Google Play version of Libreoffice Viewer Beta is also deprecated
3) Libreoffice Viewer is up-to-date

Could be this fixed? Broken F-Droid version should be replaced by working one.
Could this be done?

Open the form. Change the text in the combobox.

Open the form and write a new character in the combobox. There should appear a
messagebox. The dropdown has been changed to
Dropdown = False
If there is running xray on your machine you could control the change happend.
But you couldn't see any effect.

Seems to be an old bug. Have also tested with LO 4.4.7.2 - doesn't work.

This is an invalid bug report. Please report clean bugs, for examples see here:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugReport#Good_Reports

For a minimum:
1. Clear title that gives information as to what the bug is - "formatting" is
not a good title as it gives zero information;

2. Easy to follow reproducible steps;

3. One bug per report - here it seems like there are at least two, some kind of
formatting issue and then a crash

If you need assistance please head over to the user mailing list or the QA IRC
channel and there are tons of people available to help you out.

Thanks for your understanding.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103065] New: Window Loses Focus After Using Color Drop Downs

2016-10-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103065

Bug ID: 103065
Summary: Window Loses Focus After Using Color Drop Downs
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.4.6.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jmadero@gmail.com

Bodhi Linux (Ubuntu 14.04 + E17 DE forked)

Confirmed in 4.4max bibisect and

Version: 5.3.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 28d3a6af0703c666d80e38c9c4b86024d830994d
CPU Threads: 2; OS Version: Linux 3.16; UI Render: default;
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); Calc: group

Steps:
1. Open writer;
2. type "test";
3. Ctrl + a;
4. Push on highlight color button in toolbar (i.e., highlight yellow)
5. Type "testing" (should replace "test" as it's selected)
6. Ctrl + a;
7. Use highlight color dropdown and select "no fill"
8. Try to type again

Observed: Window has lost focus, cannot type or click anywhere in window until
the window is minimized and then restored

Note: As far as I know this is only happening with Enlightenment/Moksha DE but
it's a regression in LibreOffice (confirmed it works and does not work in
4.4max bibisect)

It would be useful to have a comment style, as presently comments only utilize
direct formatting and this cause quite a bit of problems for users wanting to
format them.

Ultimately a dev would have to let us know if this is even feasible.
