Older LibreOffice release does not have this problem, e.g. 4.4.3.2 DEB release
from libreoffice.org-- which I used until the said upgrade to 5.4 (5.4.5.1);
so this bug might counts as a regression.

Screenshots of LibreOffice 4.4.3.2 programs with system's task switcher
are now attached for comparison...

- Writer 4.4.3.2 (file #141365) V.S. 5.4.5.1 (file #140995)
- Calc 4.4.3.2 (file #141366) V.S. 5.4.5.1 (file #140996)
- Impress 4.4.3.2 (file #141367) V.S. 5.4.5.1 (file #140997)
- Base 4.4.3.2 (file #141368) V.S. 5.4.5.1 (file #140998)
- Draw 4.4.3.2 (file #141369) V.S. 5.4.5.1 (file #140999)
- Math 4.4.3.2 (file #141370) V.S. 5.4.5.1 (file #141000)
- Launcher 4.4.3.2 (file #141371) V.S. 5.4.5.1 (file #141001)

You would see that in each LibreOffice 4.4 screenshot, there is
a corresponding program icon displayed on top-left of its window
and system's task switcher dialog at the middle of screen;
unlike 5.4- which system's placeholder icon is used in both spots.

LibreOffice: 4.4.3.2 32-bit (Debian packages from libreoffice.org)
Window manager: MATE Marco 1.8.1 (Debian; with compositing disabled)
Desktop: MATE 1.8.1 (Debian)
Display server: X11R7 Xorg 7.7 (Debian)
System: Debian GNU/Linux 7.0 Wheezy i386

"About LibreOffice" dialog information follows...
Version: 4.4.3.2
Build ID: 88805f81e9fe61362df02b9941de8e38a9b5fd16
Locale: th_TH

OpenGL is not used in this LibreOffice installation.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117016] New: Formula to Get value of last non-empty cell does not return expected result

2018-04-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117016

Bug ID: 117016
Summary: Formula to Get value of last non-empty cell does not
return expected result
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: stuporg...@gmail.com

Description:
TL;DR: Formula =LOOKUP(2,1/(NOT(ISBLANK(A1:A$1))),A1:A$1) results in #DIV/0
instead of showing the last non-blank value in the column.

LibreOffice Version: Version: 6.0.3.2
Build ID: 8f48d515416608e3a835360314dac7e47fd0b821
CPU threads: 4; OS: Mac OS X 10.13.4; UI render: default;
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); Calc: group

Background:

I'm operating on the assumption that formulas should work the same in Calc as
in Excel.

I followed an Excel tutorial found here
https://exceljet.net/formula/get-value-of-last-non-empty-cell to get the last
value in a sparsely filled column. It did not work in . I tested in Excel
(15.30) and it did work

If it's not supposed to work, maybe because it relies on a glitch in Excel,
then please disregard.

To Reproduce:

Sparsely fill Column A with data, Enter the forumla above into cell B1 and drag
to extend it down so that the formula should capture various of the sparse
values.

Notes:

1. I will attach a sample file to this issue.
2. I had an old (c. 2015) version of LibreOffice installed until today, and
dragging this formula crashed that old version every time. With 6.0.3.2 it does
not crash.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Sparsely fill part of Column A with data, can be a mix of numeric and text.
2. Enter the formula =LOOKUP(2,1/(NOT(ISBLANK(A1:A$1))),A1:A$1) into cell B1
and drag down to apply it to additional cells in the B column. Ensure that it
will pass by multiple values in column A

Actual Results:
#DIV/0!, except on numeric cells

Expected Results:
Show the last non-blank value from Column A in each cell of column B

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

(In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #0)
> My proposal would be to go with 'Illustration and Figure index'.

Is this the new index type or title? Also how would you select both
'Illustration' and 'Figure' entries in the category drop down list, or is that
intended to be manually selected by the user?

> Alternatively, we could add another entry to this list.

As suggested in bug 58407 comment 7, we should do this as it would be an easy
preset, which is the purpose of the type drop down list. So the new type entry
would be labeled 'Table of Figures', and so would the title, and would
preselect 'Figure' as the category.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 58725] Changing styles is not recorded with Tracking Changes

2018-04-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58725

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

Thanks, that is a fast way to correct from accidentally scrolling the slide off
the screen. I do still think though that the user interface of keynote and
powerpoint is much superior- limiting the extent of scrolling of the slide to
the slide edges.

I am using the pre-release Ubuntu 18.04 which has v6.0.3.2

In Ubuntu 16.04, the default was v5.1.6 so I was probably using that. It was
ok, no freezes.

Sorry, it only happens sometimes. Not doing anything in particular, it happens
when I'm just reading a file and not making any edits.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117015] New: EMF+/EMF Dual mode is not displaying correctly

2018-04-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117015

Bug ID: 117015
Summary: EMF+/EMF Dual mode is not displaying correctly
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.6.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: gan...@poczta.onet.pl

Description:
EMF+ with dual mode are not displayed correctly.

Metafiles identified as EMF+ Dual can also contain both EMF+ records and EMF
records. The EMF+ Dual flag indicates that the metafile contains a complete set
of EMF records sufficient to correctly render the entire drawing on a system
that cannot playback EMF+ records. This feature makes it possible to render an
image with different levels of graphics support in the operating system.
However, only one or the other type of records is processed. All records are
enumerated sequentially. For EMF playback, the metafile player only uses EMF
records and ignores EMF+ records. For EMF+ playback, the metafile is played as
if it is EMF+ Only.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open attached file
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Not all elements are displayed. SOme of them are not visible at all

Expected Results:
All elements from EMF+ file in dual mode, are displayed correctly

Reproducible: Always

Oops, nevermind. Just read the migrwarndlg.ui in
https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/52876/

But still, give some note of possibility of and how-to revert?

@Tamás, Miklos, Lionel, *

With internal HSQLDB support now restored through 6.1 (and likely through later
releases) why shouldn't we make the offer of odb migration to internal Firebird
3 an opt-in action?

Then could also provide a note in the GUI that reversion HSQLDB is possible and
point to a good source how-to (Wiki or Help).

To be sure: do you mean your patch will detect the GNOME High Contrast theme
and properly set the Sifr? On the current master branch, GNOME High Contrast
Theme is not detected at all and the icon set is not changed at all with this
theme, it's why I think it's not detected.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116944] Firebird-migration must happen only after user consent and advise to backup data prior to migration at 6.1

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116944

(In reply to Florian Reisinger from comment #33)

"Users" are not going to be working with master/6.1.0 at this point!

Rather, it remains in the preview of project QA effort and expert users who of
necessity must test and advise the developers if the code is suitable for
release. What role do you intend to play here?

Leaving the migration code and Firebird stuck in experimental mode as it has
been does nothing to move the effort along.

Please rest assured that if we get to the end of the 6.1 dev cycle--and the
code is not ready for release--hopefully not because it has not adequately been
tested and engaged feedback provided--it would be grounds for blocker status
and the release then does not roll until fixed.

Production use belongs currently on 5.4.6, or an earlier stable EOL release.
Production on current fresh 6.0.3 is probably safe--and can safely remain on
6.0 through the 6.0.7 and beyond its EOL in November 2018.

Point is folks are not and will not be forced to migrate to Firebird 3 for
internal data before they are comfortable that they can protect their processes
and data--they just will not be on the current "Fresh" build.

Consider for example that currently we do not even recommend a 6.0 update for
5.4 and earlier users.

Not saying go away, but please roll up your sleeves and either build from
source and test, or tune in to the nightlies as they roll from our TinderBox
suite and test on that cycle as Tamás notes.

Constructive feedback on explicit issues with samples to Tamás (and the other
devs) is a lot more effective here than dropping an anchor and pestering the
devs.

Just saying...

Have found this:
SELECT RDB$FIELD_NAME, RDB$RELATION_NAME, RDB$GENERATOR_NAME FROM
RDB$RELATION_FIELDS WHERE RDB$GENERATOR_NAME IS NOT NULL

Will show the generatorname for the fields of the tables with autoincrement
value.

Generatornames are RDB$1, RDB$2 and so on ...
ALTER SEQUENCE RDB$1 RESTART WITH 10;
Sets the generator to 10. This should be the last value of the
autoincrement-field. Not the value, which should be generated as next value!
Next autoincremented value will be 11, when "RESTART WITH 10" is set - a little
bit confusing.

@Tamas:

EDIT START

I am very happy about changes happening in the right direction. The statement
below still is true.

On the one hand we still have a few months until it will be fixed. But as
databases are a complex system, I still believe that this conversion should be
experimental.

This could be because of the shock it left as so many (nearly everything
[relationships, views]) has been broken when we got asked to test this.

EDIT END

If LibreOffice was built for developers, I would advise you to submit that on
Stackoverflow and the problem would not be that big.

Without knowing exactly what problems can be detected by the return code of
Firebird this might be even more beneficial.

But this approach ist strictly against our users. I would feel bad for
LibreOffice as I guess that loads of people will stop using LibreOffice because
of this.

In fact LibreOffice is an end user software.

If we know it is working flawlessly, it should happen with a dialog like it has
been presented. (or a similar one "in this version of LibreOffice the database
needs to be migrated... "Migrate / Close"

If we think it is the way moving forward, bit know major flaws (feature parity
to HSQLDB is not present) it must not be enabled by default. Depending on the
maturity of the conversion it might be a "Migrate / Delay" dialog, but prior to
this the conversion should not be advertised too much.

TL;DL: Many user are not capable of finding / reading ("understanding the
language") or executing ("how to unzip / with which editor should that file be
opened") therefore having an "Migrate / Later" will either trigger "migrate, I
need to get something done" or a few times clicking "later" and than giving up
and clicking "migrate". Many user won't read the dialog. For end users we
should enable it without dialog, if and only if we are very confident
everything is working. Prior to that it should be an experimental feature (the
automatic conversion, not the database itself) and in that case does not need
an dialogue as well as users must opt-in.

My major problem is: Very few things (tables without relations) are working.
But a database without foreign key constraints is no real database. And that
cannot be converted. In the current state this is not ready to ship as
an"enabled by default" feature.

I am not saying "no", I am saying "not just now"

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116944] Firebird-migration must happen only after user consent and advise to backup data prior to migration at 6.1

2018-04-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116944

from bug title:
"advise to backup data prior to migration at 6.1"

You can revert the migration by opening "content.xml" in the zipped structure
and replace the URL "sdbc:embedded:firebird" with "sdbc:embedded:hsqldb". This
will work, because the old HSQLDB data is still in the odb structure. You may
also want to remove "database/firebird.fbk" so it won't make any surprises when
you try to migrate next time.

Of course, the above method is not user friendly. I would like to suggest that
- instead of advising the user to backup it's data - we should revert the
changes automatically (with the above mentioned method) if the migration wasn't
successful.

By "wasn't successful" I mean that the sdbc driver throws an exception - which
indicates a lot of errors, but not all of them (e.g. what if something is just
missing in the new format). In these cases the user could still revert the
migration manually. Because of that, the above mentioned way to revert the
migration should be put into a wiki or something.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116944] Firebird-migration must happen only after user consent and advise to backup data prior to migration at 6.1

2018-04-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116944

As no kind of relationships (foreign key relations) or views can be migrated to
Firebird users should not be prompted just yet!

With the current migration quality, this either should not be included in 6.1
(we have quite some time until there to improve). In the current state it
should be AT MOST an experimental feature.

Note: I am not talking about making the database experimental again, I am
explicitly talking about the (semi) automatic conversion!

Just showing a dialog is no solution, the user will click anything to just be
able to work.

This (in my opinion) is the opposite direction to what we seemed to agree on.
This most certainly is not a stated approach but a big bang again.

Please assure me, that I am interpreting the commit wrong...

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117013] New: Table of Illustration doesn't take figures

2018-04-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117013

Bug ID: 117013
Summary: Table of Illustration doesn't take figures
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: high
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org

CC: nicksonthand...@msn.com, philip...@hotmail.com,
s.mehrbr...@gmail.com
Blocks: 114426

With the change in bug 58407 we call image captions 'Figure' by default.
However, the table of contents offers 'Illustration' and this type ignores
figures.

My proposal would be to go with 'Illustration and Figure index'. Alternatively,
we could add another entry to this list.

Setting importance to high.

I still don't understand: iterating menu Window > New Window allows you to open

in read-only mode.
Alternatively, using the command line, you can use the -n switch to open a new
copy of your document as template.

This drag and drop thing has nothing to do with the new migration
functionality, so it might be a bit confusing to track it under
"Database-Firebird-Migration". It is still something interesting in connection
with Firebird.

Could you please attach the original file too? So I could see what went wrong
with the initial attempt of migration (before the drag-and-drop).

CSV with 322 rows, 16 columns

Evolved from bug 76527

Attaching a test CSV reduced to 1/10 row amount of the original.

1. Import attached CSV file to Calc using the default values (utf-8, usa
english, row 1, separated by tab, comma, semicolon)
2. Click the chart button.

It is also unresponsive after the dialog has opened.

Yes, I tried that. Using that method you can only open one additional document
of the same name. I work with huge displays where there may need to be several
copies of the same document on the display at the same time. That's why I have
requested this feature. I also launch libreoffice through a program I wrote
automatically so that's why I requested a command line switch. In the interim,
I've written a wrapper program which creates read only clones of the document
and allows you to open as many copies of a document as you like. But if this
feature were to be built in, that would be awesome. If anyone wants to see my
wrapper code written in C#, let me know. I understand this feature is rather
niche, but I thought I'd request it anyway.

OK, I see the problem. The document I was working on was using a character
style as a paragraph style. In Word, when you edit a style it will be smart
about selecting the correct type. In LO you have to explicitly select the
correct type or you can accidentally edit the default style.

This is basically a dupe of

https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=122515

I'll close this as NOT A BUG and open a new enhancement request if I can't find
a similar one here.

Hello,
The automatic replacement of single quote by a smart apostrophe is controlled
via: Tools > AutoCorrect > AutoCorrect Options, Localized Options tab,
Check/Uncheck "Replace" checkbox for Single Quotes.

Options in Tools > Options > Language Settings > English sentence checking,
Punctuation propose the modification of the character afterwards.

You need to copy the word you are looking for.

This is autocorrect "markdown" provided by design.

Controlled from Tools -> AutoCorrect -> Autocorrect Options -> Options tab:
checkbox [M][T] for "Automatic *bold*, /italic/, -strikeout- and _underline_"

Enabled by default, where the M is while modifying a text, or T is for while
typing new text. Unchecking them will disable the feature.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117011] New: FORMATTING words enclosed in '/' (forward slash) are changed to italic

2018-04-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117011

Bug ID: 117011
Summary: FORMATTING words enclosed in '/' (forward slash) are
changed to italic
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.2.1 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ml01.lib...@gmail.com

Description:
I Haven't found an explanation for this behaviour, exuse me if it's not a
bug...
If I digit
/test1/test2
the result is
test1test2
with test1 written in italic.
As soon as I digit the second / around a word, / are removed and the word style
is changed to italic.
I tried in both Writer and Calc.
It's not happening in wordpad.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.open writer (or calc)
2. digit: /testword/
3.

Actual Results:
testword (in italic)

Expected Results:
/testword/ (in standard font)

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
The problem is the same using either the '/' over the 7, the one in the numpad
or mixing them.
It really seem to me an unwanted shortcut, but I have no idea about hot to
remove it!
I tried to check if OpenGL is enabled (as stated below), but the provided
program is crashing all the times.

OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED

Description:
LibreOffice Impress and LibreOffice Draw freezes after adding of some kinds of
animated gif. And then it works fine for a while and then again. The issue
appears when the page or slide with the gif is shown on screen.
Some kinds of gifs works as expected.
When demonstration runs (F5) freezings does not appear.
Probably turning off of gif animation in edit mode could temporary solve this
problem.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a new presentation or drawing.
2. Insert a gif like the attached one.
3. Wait a little and/or right click on the gif.

Actual Results:
It freezes for 5-30 seconds then works, then freezes, then works and so on.

It should work without freezings

STR
1. Enable OpenGL rendering
2. Open attachment 141212 to writer
3. Export (or Export as) to PDF
4. defaults (or profile reset):

   JPEG quality 90%
   reduce image quality to 300dpi
   create PDF form FDF
   export boookmarks

5. export --> PDF renders font as filled

6. reduce image quality to 150dpi (or 75dpi)

7. export --> PDF renders font to outline

Same affect on font rendering with Lossless compression, settings above 300dpi
font is fully formed--150dpi and below the font is rendered outline.

However, _disable_ OpenGL rendering, repeat STR. And with default rendering,
glyphs are filled at all resolutions. So this seems an issue with OpenGL
rendering of the masked GIF.

The image is masked in Writer (so displaying just the "letterhead"). From
