eg display only the date number instead of the full date 12/09/2018 or 43355

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 120044] New: Feature button should be disabled if no family font is selected

2018-09-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=120044

Bug ID: 120044
Summary: Feature button should be disabled if no family font is
selected
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: xiscofa...@libreoffice.org

In
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=3aa8a048776bdf0d4868847baac2a72aa55cd6a3
the feature button was added to the character dialog. However, if such a dialog
is acceded from the search & replace dialog, where no font is selected, the
button does nothing.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Writer
2. Go to Edit - Search & Replace
3. Click on format
4. click on any feature button

-> Nothing happens

Expected behavior: it should be greyed out...

Reproduced in

Version: 6.2.0.0.alpha0+

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 120043] New: Dragging a column results in selection being increased rather than column moving

2018-09-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=120043

Bug ID: 120043
Summary: Dragging a column results in selection being increased
rather than column moving
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.0.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: myusualnickn...@gmail.com

Description:
I know people have horribe computers that missinterpret finger movements as
drag events... but still I expect a mouse press and hold on a column header
then movement to reposition the column... essentially dragging the column...
instead the selection increases... and I would expect to do that by holding
down control or shift while clicking on column headers.

behavior just doesn't conform to expectations.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.click on column header (c)
2.(release)
3.see it is selected
4..drag column header for c to between a and b...

Actual Results:
selection increases

Expected Results:
column should be moved to be between a and b.

I think the thumbnails loading process can speed up. It is too slow because
there is a crazy amount of HTML fetch stuff going on under the hood.

We should definitely deliver a small set of finely crafted personas with
LibreOffice, but we should also think twice before deprecating the Mozilla side
for good since there are more than 400k personas there, each for a different
taste.

Running on Ubuntu 18.04 with Version: 6.1.1.1

CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk2;

In this there are two copies of a Base file created with a Firebird embedded
database. (I tried this with HSQL based files also and there is no problem with
those, it is only the FB engine files)

To reproduce grab to two attached files in the attached zip file and extract
them.

1 Open one of the test files, establish a connection by going to the tables
section and opening a table, or open the form.

2 Close this file.

3 Open the second test file.

4 File Save As and choose to save this file over the .odb file you just closed.

5. Now close the open ODB file, or close soffice.

Crash

On the terminal output is this:
terminate called after throwing an instance of

 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: zolnaitamas2...@gmail.com

Description:
In the conditional formating dialog there is a preview with the text from the
selected cell. However when I open the dialog first for a cell (without
conditional formatting) this preview seems odd. I mean the Accent style is
selected by default, but the preview does not looks like this style is applied
on it. If I select the Accent style again by clicking on it with the mouse the
preview is updated and shows the right styled text.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Calc
2. Open Format -> Conditional -> Condition dialog
3. Check the preview with the default Accent style
4. Select the Accent style explicitely and check the new preview

Actual Results:
The preview shows different text when the accent style is selected by default
by dialog openning and when I select it myself.

Expected Results:
When we open the dialog the default style (Accent) should be applied on the
preview.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 120039] New: Shift+F3 not working as expected: Changing other capitals than selected

2018-09-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=120039

Bug ID: 120039
Summary: Shift+F3 not working as expected: Changing other
capitals than selected
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.0.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: pibar...@gmail.com

Description:
Shift+F3 is a very handly way to make capital of the first sentence's letter or
all of them. In LO past versions, it was just select the word, or the sentence
and click the shortcut and it's done and it toggles capital first letter, all
or none of them. I used to use it a lot, writing a text. Now, in LO 6.1.*
versions, I select the words in the sentence that I want to capitalize, but
after the shortcut press, it capitalize the selected, but toggles other letter
out of the selection, which is the behavior not expected, turning the shorcut
unable to use. Since LO 6.1.0.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Mark a word in a sentence of a paragraph, specially if it has other capitals
other than the selection you made.
2.Press shift+F3 three times.
3. See what happens with the word with capitals that's out of the karked word
that you want to change (that's the only word that must be altered)

Actual Results:
Selected word and those ones out of the selection will be altered with the
shortcut.

Expected Results:
The marked word or sentence will change with sequential presses of the shorcut,
as well as other capitalized words in the sentence not marked or in the
paragraph, which is not the behavior expected.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
Only the word or letter selected must be altered with shortcut, not those ones
not selelected or marked.

The behavior is totally different on LO 6.0.6 (the correct one).

OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: zolnaitamas2...@gmail.com

Description:
In pargraph dialog we have Area tab where we can select different kind of
background fills. For Gradient fill we have some preset fills we can select
from. All the preset gradient fills are visible in the list, but the list
widget still have a scrollbar on the right side which we can't move to any
where. Would be better to not display the scrollbar at all, if it has no
function.

Same issue with bitmap and hatch tab.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Format -> Paragraph dialog
2. Switch Area -> Gradient tab page
3. Check the list of preset gradients

Actual Results:
There is a scrollbar for the list, but it has no function.

Expected Results:
Should not be a scrollbar when all item fits into the view.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

It doesn't look that way. I can't reproduce that one.
This report is about changing the logarithmic scale & automatic min/max. If you
just change min and/or max (or scale and min or max) there's no crash.

Perhaps bug 8 is also resolved?
You could help by testing current state of all options, whether they: work,
work for all insert procedures, can be saved as default, default saving depends
on Add Caption Automatically etc.

"Above" is default from Bug 40457 and Bug 115032.

> Please program LibreOffice to default caption position to last used.
This is WontFix.

> I did that and it only worked for figure captions, not for table captions.
Please explain what you did.
I see that:
- if we turn on Tools => Options => LibreOffice Writer => Auto Caption - Add
Caption Automatically for Writer Table and set to Below or change later to
Above, than it works.
- but we cannot set to Below and turn off Add Caption Automatically and keep
Below (I guess that's what you noticed).

Previously we could change default and turn off Add Caption Automatically and
see it in options right but that still wouldn't work. At least with 6.0 beta.
So we have more consistent UI now but we also have a bug.
Should be tested more thoroughly for regression and all options mentioned in
Bug 8 should be tested.
But I'll confirm so far.

Updating on my own comment #3 -

- If is not hit after the paste, running total column appears to be
incorrect from the same row that the paste happened into, onwards.

- If IS hit after the paste, running total column appears to be
recalculated only up until the same row as the *cut* occurred from; it's wrong
after that.

- Either way a force recalc is needed to insure correct results are displayed
fully.

I agree the $ static references are the key here. We often use running total

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=120034

Bug ID: 120034
Summary: in menu: FILE / NEW / *Master Document* could be
separated somehow
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: j...@cspv.hu

// this is a nuance, also trivial

I find it strange that a Master Document is at the same level as a Text
Document, for example... This is, of course, not a big deal.. and the logic
behind it is clear also... "what do you want to create?"

still... many people explore the applications NOT by using it but by trying
them... playing around... tasting the logic of the workflow it offers... etc.

so, it can easily happen that someone will go like "what can I create?"...
and check the list...

and if she or he sees "master document" for the first time, s/he might think of
it as a type of a document, which technically is true... although not true from
the aspect of using it...

the list "... HTML Document, XML Form Document, Master Document ..." is not a
logical "series",
cause a MD is something different... in terms of that what you create..
cause it is NOT a document but a "project"... so to speak...

in any case, if there was a separator above and below Master Document, it would
be already better... But I think putting it together with Document Templates,
to the bottom, would be an even better option... not to mention putting it
right below Text document :)

another option could be, of course, to mark Master Document like "* Master
Document", for example, or "_Master_Document_"... so as to help the intuitive
use and understanding of the different document formats...

I repeat, this works totally WELL already...

I'm only suggesting this addition to help those who are new and are intuitively
exploring LO-W... cause if she or he sees MD distinguished from other doc
types, s/he'll right away have an idea of what it could be...
"a document of documents", so to speak.. as opposed to "yet another type of
document"...

thank you for developing LO !! :)

2018-09-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=120033

Bug ID: 120033
Summary: Pasting values changes row height
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.0.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: geo...@ursa.org

Description:
When pasting, normally the row height is copied from the source cells. When
using Past Values (just plain text), it shouldn't change font type, size, row
height, etc. However, it always changes the row height to the default for the
font size used.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Set up 1 sheet with short row heights (under 0.21")
2.Copy from another tab
3.Paste Special, Values Only into first tab

Actual Results:
Row height increases

Expected Results:
Row height should not change

Reproducible: Always

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119877] WRITER, NAVIGATOR -- easy access (right click) to "send outline to clipboard" functionality, PLZ

Why? I mean, why either/or? What is the logic behind that?

why EITHER put it somewhere else in the menu (unless someone makes a comment
stating it's not necessary in his opinion :) )
OR put it in the context menu?

It is widely agreed, I suppose, that context menu is NOT for "promoting"
functions...
BUT then, what is it for?
I would say -- and I firmly believe that it makes sense -- that the context
menu is to make SUCH functionalities available "at hand" .. which belong to the
"context"... what the user is working on/with whatever...

so, in our case, you are using the NAVIGATOR pane...
you are viewing the OUTLINE of a document...
in this "context" the following functions are listed:

OUTLINE LEVEL
DRAG MODE
DISPLAY

now, is it really a far off concept to put "COPY OUTLINE" in this list?
Isn't it likely that someone wants to copy it?

since the birth of text editors and PCs in general, people have been accustomed
to the practice that whatever is before them, text or image, they can COPY
it...

SO, as a matter of fact, this might be made possible even directly...
(which, for sure would be way bigger work to do, and would affect lots of other
things)

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
PS:
I repeat.. it works for me...

I can handle such super-minor hardship so easily that I don't even recognize
it... I will find "copy outline" even if it is hidden in EDIT / Object,
seriously...
all I need to do is make one FLAG in my mind, so as to remember how to approach
this situation, and this FLAG will be "not logical".. and from then on it will
work... I'll find it...

the question that "remains" is only how many of 1 000 000 LOW users will
actually use this functionality... and how many of us would, were they given an
easy access to this functionality (which already exist!!)

thank you for developing LO-W !!

dear devs, I'm surprised by your rigidness.. or conservatism :) sorry :)
(I mean, being happily unwilling to change -- see Heiko's response
"So let's keep it there. :-)"

@ Cor Nouws,
nice argument: "I do not support the idea that it is extremely hard to find.
The File > Send menu should be reasonably well known, because it also holds
sending documents by email.."

I can state that I have never once in my life sent a document using "send ->
document by email"... for my workflow and mindset this is alien...

if I want to send a document, I'll go "email app" --> "add as attachment"...
cause what I'm doing is sending an email not editing a document...

BUT STILL, even though one sends documents like this... this funny way..
when you are working on a document and you want to do something with its
outline...
your mind will not go anywhere near to something LABELED as "send"...
instead, the logical route will be something similar to this:

document ("file").. "outline"..."tools"... and search for "outline".. or a
synonym... but no way for "send"...

but I can sense, this suggestion is totally not welcome :(

Still the same with 6.1.0.1: It shows multiple entries of the form
  31 Dec 1999
and it is not possible whether that would become
  01 Dec 1999
or
   1 Dec 1999
if the day is single digit
