[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131320] New: Document Recovery window opens behind all other windows.

2020-03-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131320

Bug ID: 131320
Summary: Document Recovery window opens behind all other
windows.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.8.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: bjw...@westlot.net

Description:
When LibreOffice (any component) is opened when the program was forced close
due to reboot, or, presumably, any other method, the Document Recovery window
opens behind all other open windows without any indication on the taskbar. The
only way to get to the window is by minimizing other open windows.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Reboot with LibreOffice file or files open.
2. After reboot, open any LibreOffice file with at least one window open
covering a good portion of the desktop.

Actual Results:
Nothing appears to happen.. No file opens, no dialogs/windows what so ever
anywhere to be seen. Nothing in System Tray to indicate there's a hidden
window of any kind.

Expected Results:
Recover File dialog should appear in foreground, above all other open windows.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

As I said if extensions are not compatible with new LO version, you'll get
error messages.
Please uninstall at least AncientGreek and try again.
Also, you didn't respond about my previous comment concerning checking version
of extensions.

Indeed.
In this case, perhaps should we change the patch to replace the return part by
a SAL_WARN ?

Personally I don't see why:

1. this has such a high importance. Isn't it more important to file bugs to
whatever tries to generate invalid documents?
2. this should be fixed at all. Why accept broken data - unless it's really
impossible to fix the root (prevent these documents from appearing)?

Just removing meta.xml from the document makes it open OK.
And yes, having no elements in the XML after prolog (here consisting of
declaration) makes the XML not well-formed [1].

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131317] New: BUTTON WITH MACRO IN CALC HAS TO BE PUSHED TWICE TO DO ALL THE WORK.

2020-03-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131317

Bug ID: 131317
Summary: BUTTON WITH MACRO IN CALC HAS TO BE PUSHED TWICE TO DO
ALL THE WORK.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.1.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: romrod...@outlook.com

Description:
If I run a macro via a button, I have to press it 2 or more times to get all
the macro done. If you do it via the macro editor, it works flawlessly.
I have attached a .ods with an example.

It deletes the cell value on some columns and then pastes the value from the
"master" colum. The first time you press the button, it just deletes
everything. The second or third time, it normally finishes the work.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the attachment
2. Push the button. Everything will be deleted as it should.
3. Push the button another time (or more). It pastes the numbers as it should
4. Repeat it via the macro editor. It works from the firs time.

Actual Results:
After pushing the button once, it deletes the values in the columns with a pink
cell above.
After the second or third time, you see that it pastes the value from the "DA"
column.

Expected Results:
After pushing the button 1, it should have deleted the values and restore them.

Running the macro via the macro editor works just fine.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
It may be related to this bug:
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70883
The first line of the macro is the "workaround" suggested in this bug report.

Also, if you clic on a random cell after pushing the button you may have the
expected result from the first time.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131182] new menu item: DOCUMENT, or a new sub-menu item FILES / Outline (enhancement, development)

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131182

Adolfo Jayme changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 Status|NEEDINFO|RESOLVED
 Resolution|--- |WONTFIX

I’ll go ahead and mark this as WONTFIX for a reason I will state in a moment,
and with this action I don’t mean to imply that we do not welcome UX
suggestions — rather the opposite! But you should weigh the consequences of
making any changes to menus, and those are an increasingly painful weight put
on the shoulders of documentation writers and translators, all of whom are
volunteers who gain nothing from the extra effort to update their content to
reflect endless UI changes. Also, users themselves are affected in that they
are forced to re-learn where things are in each release.

In the past we had a contributor, J. P., who implemented many menu changes in a
very rapid pace, without giving a real chance to others in the documentation
and l10n teams to give input. Since he was met with little friction, he went on
like this for a few releases. Now we have sizable problems in updating
now-obsolete help strings (since he didn’t bother with it and discrepancies
were only noticed individually by bug reporters afterwards), and translators
(some of them like me, polyglots who work on several languages, and in many
cases in charge only by themselves of the whole translation to their languages)
had to deal with the fallout. I, personally, haven’t been able to again
complete to 100% the help translations to Spanish and Asturian since then, and
a few years have passed! Do you see the problem now?

Ok then.
Just for information, if a fix is found, it'll be on master sources (future LO
release 7.0), 6.4 branch and 6.3 branch. 6.2 branch is EOL so won't be fixed
(at least not from official TDF source)

Thanks for the quick response.

Tested proposed workaround, but on LO 6.2.8.2. Doesn't seem to work there. I'm
not updating to a more recent version of LO because of unrelated bugs in the
newer versions (broken UI on HiDPI screens)

I have found another workaround:

1. Drop the column
2. Save
3. Add column with new type
4. Save

For each extension, you should check you've got the last version + if it's
compatible with LO 6.4.
Eg: for AncientGreek, you can use

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131316] New: EDITING / UI: Feature Request for key sequence mapping

2020-03-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131316

Bug ID: 131316
Summary: EDITING / UI: Feature Request for key sequence mapping
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ja...@veith.net

Customize>Keyboard>Edit is insufficient. See appended list of sometimes
very old related and existing bugs. None of this bugs complains about the
missing possibility to assign free key sequences additional to static key
shortcut combinations. Implementation requires a state machine to the
keyboard input and there are several other editors who do this very nice.
This feature typically allows (at least partly) emulation of other editors.
Customization result allows configurations far away from Windows default UI
style. Once implemented, it can also used to realize any OS or other user
flavour editors typical behaviour. Going back to the roots, the DOS StarWriter
by Marco Börries StarDivision was in fact a Wordstar clone who makes extensive
use of those shortcut key sequences. Very effective speed editing without any
mouse. Some examples of other editors keymap customizations:

Ultra Edit implemented key sequence feature in latest versions.
See one of the discussions about here:
http://forums.ultraedit.com/emacs-keybindings-t1875-s10.html

Textmaker is a modern UI multi OS editor what shows nice implementation of
the customize keyboard dialog including free key sequences. For testing,
please use the demo version of Textmaker included in Softmaker Office.
Avoid testing Textmaker included in FreeOffice. FreeOffice disabled this
feature in latest version 2018 while there was a setup for predefined "classic"
keymap until version 2016.

Eclipse is a modern multi OS IDE what shows nice implementation of customize
keybard dialog including free key sequences. Download to test with default
editor is sufficient, no plugin required. For example of Eclipse custom
keymap plugin configuration, see the IntelliJ keymap project on github.

There are existing Word capabilities but I wont discuss them here.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131315] New: Index: Implement letter by letter alphabetising

2020-03-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131315

Bug ID: 131315
Summary: Index: Implement letter by letter alphabetising
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: greenandpleasant2000-supp...@yahoo.co.uk

The current system wrongly indexes entries containing non-alphanumeric
characters. For example, you cannot put an apostrophe at the beginning of an
entry because this causes it to be indexed under the apostrophe, rather than
the letter! And if a non-alphanumeric occurs in the middle of an entry, the
entry will be listed in an unexpected order.

LO needs to implement an accepted worldwide standard which allows for
non-alphanumeric characters: i.e. the LETTER BY LETTER system of alphabetising
indexes.

This system is detailed at
https://www.press.uchicago.edu/Misc/Chicago/CHIIndexingComplete.pdf (Chicago
Manual of Style.

To give an example. This (AFAIK) is a CORRECTLY indexed series of entries
(letter by letter):

"Bell, Andrew, 413
Bell, book, and candle 36
Bell, Garden, the 175, 651
Bell Hotel, The 559pp.
Bellmen 116
Bell-ringers, the 205, 380, 578
Bells of the Parish Church 173"

However, this is how it is INCORRECTLY indexed by LO:

"Bell Hotel, The 559pp.
Bell-ringers, the 205, 380, 578
Bell, Andrew, 413
Bell, book, and candle 36
Bell, Garden, the 175, 651
Bellmen 116
Bells of the Parish Church 173"

when printing to a pdf it works different: when printing to several files all

printing all in one pdf it works fine.

unfortunately the "work around" is not possible at this Point => data-fields
are not allowed in hidden text

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131313] New: Long FILESAVE passwords cause FILEOPEN errors in LibreOffice v6.4.1.2, under MacOS 10.14.6 64bit

2020-03-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131313

Bug ID: 131313
Summary: Long FILESAVE passwords cause FILEOPEN errors in
LibreOffice v6.4.1.2, under MacOS 10.14.6 64bit
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.1.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ke...@palling.net

Description:
If I save a Calc spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel format, and give it a password,
it saves correctly.
When I try to open it (with LO), it asks for a password but does not always
recognise it. For example,
The saved p/w "Thedeerhunter-22" produces a "wrong password" error message.
The saved password "horses" allows a file to be re-opened.
The same problem occurs when opening the LO file in Microsoft Office.
Is this a problem of password length or invalid - character?

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create a new Calc spreadsheet,
2.Save it with a password, then quit LO.
3.Right-click on the file to open in LO and enter the password.

Actual Results:
File opens if saved using short password above.
File does not open if saved with long password above, with the error message
"The password is incorrect. The file cannot be opened."

Expected Results:
The "save as" dialogue should prevent the use of invalid password formats.
The "open" dialogue should respect the saved password.

Reproducible: Always

Thank you for reporting this bug. I can reproduce this partially, but not fully
in

Version: 6.4.0.0.alpha1+ (x86)
Build ID: ec7374ff84c71edfbb30d6e4dc5b486b6df7107f
CPU threads: 2; OS: Windows 6.1 Service Pack 1 Build 7601; UI render: default;
VCL: win;
TinderBox: Win-x86@42, Branch:master, Time: 2019-11-10_21:37:30
Locale: en-US (en_US); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

when I Create a new Calc document,
Enter a, b, c, d into .
Go to cell D2.
Call >Data>Validity
Open >Criteria>Custom
Go to 'Formula'
Enter OFFSET($A$2;1;0;2;1)
and click OK, No dropdown symbol shown right of it.

But, again when I Open the Validity dialog for DE2 again.
Cell>Criteria>Cell range , 'Source' is containing the correct expression.

Even without saving the document and reopening it, Now the Validity setting
works as originally expected.

2020-03-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131312

Bug ID: 131312
Summary: calc: funny / odd / wrong display of value in
scientific format
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.8.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: newbie...@gmx.de

Description:
while playing around with floating point values i stumbled upon a funny display
problem, it looks as if the value is correct, but in display with 14+ decimal
places it's displayed as

10,00E+00 instead of - correct -

 1,00E+00

the error dosn't survice save-load but is reproducible, just follow steps
below,

don't think over the formula etc., it's an unfinished version,

the error can be copied by ctrl-c ctrl-shift-v to other cells, copy text,
numbers, date,

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open attached file (if not in this description see next comment)
2. observe cell BO2, reg. save-load it'll display 1,00E+00
2a. same for cell BO4, which is two step copy of BO2
3. click on cell BO2
4. F2
5. ctrl-a
6. ctrl-c
7. ctrl-v - enter
8. observe BO2 now displaying 10,00E+00,that's 10 times too much,
8a. same for BO4
8b. BO3 not affected
9. shrink display of BO2 to 13 decimals
10. observe display now 1,0E+00
11. enrich display to 14 decimals or more
12. observe value shown as 10,00... istead of 1,00...
13. observe cell BO3, formula '=BO2', displaying 1,0... regardless of wrong
display for BO2,
14. observe cell BO4 having the same 'illness' as BO2, wrong display up from 14
decimals,
15. play around as you like, the error occured only for specific mantissae all
zeros ending on ...110 or ...101, sometimes you don't need to paste BO2 but
it's sufficient to change the last two bits of the mantissa ... the behaviour
is a little different with a different formula, copy e.g. BO8 to BO2, have fun
...

Actual Results:
cells displayed with 10 times too high value and 'ill' formatting up from 14
decimal places,

Expected Results:
correct results,

Reproducible: Always

The problem isn't Firebird only, depending of the old/new field, length updates
or not.

Following bt retrieved previously, I noticed this commit:
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=465cf674e8118922029e7e117fdae91e887bcee0

-else if ( _pType->nPrecision )

Lionel: the whole "switch" in OFieldDescription::FillFromTypeInfo seems a bit
strange
See
https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/dbaccess/source/ui/tabledesign/FieldDescriptions.cxx?r=a41f9b3a#181

Why we would take into account these elements(in addition to the precision of
new type):
- the precision from previous type
- a default value
- a min of a combination of these?
- new type (do we really need all this switch?)

I mean, in case of bForce is true, why couldn't we just use precision of new
element and only take the previous one (or a by default one,
DEFAULT_VARCHAR_PRECISION/DEFAULT_OTHER_PRECISION) if there's no precision
defined for new element?

Remark as a side part:
About DEFAULT_VARCHAR_PRECISION/DEFAULT_OTHER_PRECISION, we could check a
precision has been defined with an assert. I mean perhaps we should force to
define precision for all types of all DB drivers?

The Search and Replace keyboard shortcut Ctrl-H is missing whenever all the
other Ctrl-* shortcuts are offered.

I am using the French UI and couldn’t check is the problem is specific to that
language or generalized.

Expected: Have Ctrl-H to invoke the Search and Replace feature.
