[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105782] Snap package crashes when using native load/save dialogs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105782

Dear ppa,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131488] New: export document containing ‘end notes’ into a PDF document results in links not working

2020-03-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131488

Bug ID: 131488
Summary: export document containing ‘end notes’ into a PDF
document results in links not working
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: steffan.steff...@gmx.net

Created attachment 158886
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=158886=edit
exported pdf document with endnotes; as I stated, links do not work in PDF

As it is 100% consistent with my experience, I cite the text of the weblink
(link here included below)

“Trying to export my end notes of an ODT document into a PDF document the links
between the anchor in the text and the end note (and wise versa) are lost.
Normal links and cross-references within the document are exported. I used the
command File > export as PDF”

https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/63336/how-to-export-writer-end-notes-into-pdf/

To clarify:
When you insert an endnote (menu: insert-> endnote) in Writer, clicking on the
link in the text brings you to the respective endnote, and clicking on the
endnote link then takes you back to the place in the text you came from;
after exporting to a pdf file, none of these links are working;

As I submit this bug, the issue as described under the link on
ask.libreoffice.org is already 4 years old, and I wonder this issue it hasn’t
been submitted yet (or been solved).

As to the urgency of this issue:
As far as I am concerned, I actually need to export documents with endnotes
into a PDF document quite often.

As a work around, I have used the procedure as given in the answer under the
above link.

I am using the newest version
Version: 6.4.2.2 (x64) Build ID: 4e471d8c02c9c90f512f7f9ead8875b57fcb1ec3

Also I tried several options (under: File → Export as → Export as PDF; Tab
“Links” and there all option under “general”) to no avail

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131487] New: Words whose characters span multiple languages should not undergo spell checking

2020-03-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131487

Bug ID: 131487
Summary: Words whose characters span multiple languages should
not undergo spell checking
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.2.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Linguistic
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: sergio.calleg...@gmail.com
CC: so...@libreoffice.org

Description:
When writing a document using multiple languages, it may happen to find pieces
of text that look like a single word, but where a part of the chars belong to a
language and the other part to another language.

For instance, in Italian, it may happen to write things like «Questo è un
rapporto sull'International Conference on...» (This is a report on the
International Conference on...).

Here "sull'" is in Italian and "International" is in English. However, because
of the apostrophe, LibO sees "sull'International" as a single word and tries to
spellcheck it. Apparently, the spellchecking is practiced based on the language
of the last character (i.e., English in this case). Obviously, it fails,
because "sull'International" is neither an English word nor an Italian one.

IMHO, when LibO sees a word with mixed language, it should consider it as a
word whose language is None.

Steps to Reproduce:
See description

Actual Results:
See description

Expected Results:
See description

Reproducible: Always

Nope and Nope. Neither here or the feature request page. This request is simply
turned down every time I contact them. Including Facebook and others.
The actual "usable" answer I got way: Pay one of the developers, and the MAYBE
the feature will be programmed.
I would not have a problem shelling out three digit Euros for KNOWING this
feature will be included within three month, and it's usability improved in
later version. But in its current state LO does IMHO not have the right
priority list. Making new icons is more important than a 28 year old excel
feature - why?
Luckily there are other free office products, though not open source, which can
do it when needed. Softmaker Freeofice is one example.

This is *the* feature I have been missing for many years. 3D surface plots are
the best way I have found to visualize stuff like RAID controller performance.
It would be very nice to have it built in instead of having to reformat data

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131486] New: LibreOffice Calc freezes itself and Gnome 3.36 on multiple cell select

2020-03-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131486

Bug ID: 131486
Summary: LibreOffice Calc freezes itself and Gnome 3.36 on
multiple cell select
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.1.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: bughat...@protonmail.com

Description:
There is a high cost to selecting cells in Calc. It appears to linearly scale
with the amount of cells already selected. I do not understand either of these
facts.

Calc also is apparently not using the disk at this time.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a new spreadsheet in LibreOffice Calc (within Arch Linux) (on Gnome
3.36).
2. Select n cells in different columns by left clicking while holding Ctrl. n
is the number of cells such that selecting the n+1th cell takes at least 3
seconds. I estimate that n will be between 20 and 50 cells on your system.
3. Observe Calc using 100% of 1 CPU for several seconds. During this time you
should not be able to do anything else on your system aside from observe the
clock tick and an unclickable dialog box ask you if you wish to kill Calc do to
its non-responsiveness.

Actual Results:
Calc spends millions of microseconds on the task of a single cell select when
several cells are already selected.

Expected Results:
Calc spends at most 1 microsecond on the task of a single sell select
regardless of how many cells are already selected:

Check if the cell is selected in memory. If it is, then select the cell. If
not, then deselect the cell.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Version: 6.4.1.2
Build ID: 6.4.1-3
CPU threads: 16; OS: Linux 5.5; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3;
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

I am using X11 and the official Nvidia Linux drivers.

Why does the length of time to select a cell depend on the number of cells
already selected?

Why does your link on how to check if OpenGL is enabled wrong, because there is
no option "Use OpenGL for all rendering" under the specified section of the
settings?

3. Fn+Shift+F10 also works

Thanks and sorry, I don't what really happened, I was not able to do this in

i was mislead when testing, didn't check #102927 which has more detailed
description, autofilter and standardfilter as i normally use work fine, but!:

there is a text box 'search items' underneath the link to 'Standard Filter' in
the pulldown-box for autofilter, which - imho - hasn't anything to do with
Standard Filter,

i hadn't used it before, tested it now, while the list of available items is
'not too big' it's shrinking the list to items which contain the string in the
text box, but above some threshold on lines or different items the calc
autofilter is overstrained and typing anything into this text-box sends calc
to busy, unresponsive, and returns after long delay without any productive
effect ... with very long lists already opening the autofilter-dropdown-box
fails ...

my system could handle 75.000 rows of the file provided with this bug, col A
copied to col B,C,D and E, but freaks out with 100.000 rows.

thus: there is a bug,

On Windows you can
1. Drag the window with the mouse to the left or right edge. It docks, when the
mouse is near the edge.
2. Ctrl + Doubleclick in the area right from "Slides".
3. Ctr+Shift+F10. It docks when you release the keys.

Does one of them work for you?

Has it worked before?

If file is saved in MSO with fonts, like attached, it's 1 page as MSO.

Dieter, thanks for the confidence!

I repro with sidebar floating navigator when the window is made smaller than
the toolbox horizontal size. When I size the window horizontally to reveal all
items in the toolbox I see the content view vertical scroll bar.

I don't repro with F5 navigator. It doesn't allow making the window
horizontally smaller than the toolbox.

Please see if this is the same as in bug 130292. Although this one is sooner,
that one has simpler example and already bibisected. Regardless that mistake

I tried to reproduce this 1st example, but not sure. If I change column ratio,
it's saved. If I widen the table, it's not. And description is not clear, if we
need to change columns, or just to save and save again. Also not clear if this

Not reproducible for me with LibreOffice 6.4.3.0+ built at home under Ubuntu

Only changing from a sheet to another is long, no slowness problem with
scrolling or right-click menu.

Attached a picture. Because if you don't have a font that supports colour
emojis (like google-noto-emoji-color-fonts) it might be rendered in black, thus
not being as slow.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131481] New: Undo doesn't restore references in other sheets to a moved cell

2020-03-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131481

Bug ID: 131481
Summary: Undo doesn't restore references in other sheets to a
moved cell
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: bartek...@gmail.com

Steps to reproduce (tested with version 6.3.4.2.0 on Gentoo linux, I wanted to
test on latest but that will have to wait until I update libreoffice):

0. Create an empty spreadsheet in LibreOffice calc
1. Create 2 sheets named Sheet1 and Sheet2 in this spreadsheet
2. In Sheet1, set some value at cell A1
3. In Sheet2, write the formula =$Sheet1.A1 in any cell
4. Select cells A1-A2 (or any range of cells containing A1)
5. Drag and drop that selected cells to move them somewhere else. Reference in
Sheet2 changes to new location of the content of A1
6. Undo (ctrl+c or edit->undo). Cell in Sheet1 is moved back to A1. Reference
in Sheet2 is not changed back to the original.

This may "corrupt" a spreadsheet beyond practical recovery if noticed too late.

Can you try to use a new user profile with soffice

Maybe your profile is somehow broken - no other idea...

You can open my video attached here to see the detail.

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91456#c19 obviously was
different topic, he/she talked about a fraction of previous slide and I don't
see the issue now in the daily master build (Version: 7.0.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 17e712ccc8fa93d57672916e3c8adaa8febc9f8c) nor in the fresh version (
6.4.1.2). I'm talking about different appearance of the selected Slide
Transition effect and the applied one. For example the HONEYCOMB transition
just show WIPE RIGHT transition while FALL transition show nothing.

still have long delay after making a string entry into the "Standard filter..."
text box for a column with AutoFilter enabled. And, no means to escape from the
filter action.

2020-03-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131466

I'm sorry, I'm on Debian 10.

(I was wrong. Debian 10 is "Buster", not "Stretch". The names that they add to
the versions often confuse me.)

Regarding the Software Catalog, I added a few screen copies.

The first image shows where the Software Catalog is found in the LXDE
interface. The second shows it in the GNOME interface. The third shows the
Software Catalog itself in the LXDE interface. I'd compare it to the App Store
on an iPhone.

I also added two documents for testing.

Document "The Actor At Work - Lesson Twenty LO.doc" was last saved by
LibreOffice. Document "The Actor At Work - Lesson Twenty MW.doc" was last saved
by Microsoft Word. (MW = Microsoft Word)

I'll be happy to install a more recent version of Libre Office. I installed
many programs not via the Software Catalog, and usually I get them to work, but
with Libre Office I wasn't successful. I'll try again.

Thank you for all the time you're putting into this.

Please see and mark. That one should be High importance.
That bug refers to a single transition, but even that is not fixed in years.

I gave a try with:
https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/90877

If this is correct, I think there's another bug too. Choosing alphanumeric
first or last doesn't seem to change anything.
But let's focus on this one first.
