So perhaps this can be closed as fixed. Let me try with a newer LO.

As you can see, by typing and adding line breaks the font changes randomly
after entering the square character with the font set to Font Awesome. It also
occurs with some other fonts.

The text is all highlighted to show that the font is all the same, otherwise it
would display a blank font type in the font selection menu.

2020-03-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131691

Bug ID: 131691
Summary: Entering unicode character 2b1b (large square) changes
font randomly.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.7.3 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: adje...@outlook.com

Please see the question on this page:
https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/188730/entering-a-changing-the-font-on-that-line/?comment=188896#post-id-188896

If you enter the unicode character 2b1b (⬛) in some fonts, and then type, the
font will change. Adding line breaks seems to make it show up more. I've
experienced it changing seemingly randomly from a serif font to a sans-serif
font back and fourth while typing.

The name of the font will not change, but the appearance will.

If you review the comments in the question, two users have reproduced the bug.

Only ODF formats (ODS, ODT).

Hmm, well I already converted some to pdfs. Evince takes so little memory, that
would definitely help. But to do that with a bunch of the files, I'd need a
better PDF editor, so I could highlight text, make comments, etc. The need for
such functionality is why I've kept them in libreoffice.

But really, this increasing memory usage isn't normal, right!?

file with altered (bold, big) chars

In boldNor.odt,
0. cursor after 'a', hit h: 'h' Bold & big, as expected.
1. cursor after 'b', hit ^m (or Format>Clear Direct Formatting), then
y: 'y' Normal (not Bold, size 12) —OK.
2. cursor after 'c', hit ^X (ctrl_shift_x; RemoveDirectCharFormats; Tip
№ 65), then v: 'v' Bold & big (like 'c'), unexpected; ^X did not work.
3. cursor after 'd', hit ^X (as in step2), then p: 'p' Normal (not
Bold) —OK.
4. cursor after 'e', hit ^m (as in step2), then q: 'q' Normal (not
Bold) —OK.
5. cursor after 'f', hit ^X: nothing happens; hit 'g': g Bold. Word is
now 'fgh'.
6. cursor after 'f', hit ^m: 'fgh' becomes Normal, because cursor is

Conclusion: ^X works only at the end of a parag —steps 2, 3, 5. ^m
(Clear Direct Formatting) apparently does the same thing, but better —steps 1,
4, 6. Function RemoveDirectCharFormats can be eliminated.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131687] New: Windows open in wrong display when used both through ssh and locally by the same user

2020-03-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131687

Bug ID: 131687
Summary: Windows open in wrong display when used both through
ssh and locally by the same user
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.6.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: fabien.pe...@m4x.org

Description:
If a same user of a given host has a libreoffice window opened via ssh, and
then tries to open another windows locally, then the new window does not open
locally but on the distant display.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. From host2, login via ssh into host1 :
ssh -X user@host1
2. Launch a libreoffice window : lowriter (or localc, or...)
3. Get off your seat, change room, go to host1.
4. Working locally on host1 as the same user, try to launch a libreoffice
window : lowriter (or localc, or...)

Actual Results:
No window opens in host1.
However, if you change seat again and go to host2, your new window is there...

Expected Results:
The new window should open locally

Reproducible: Always

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131686] New: ENHANCEMENT: Run every document in a separate proces

2020-03-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131686

Bug ID: 131686
Summary: ENHANCEMENT: Run every document in a separate proces
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: Inherited From OOo
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: tele...@surfxs.nl

Description:
Probably highly technical and like evaluated before. Why is there a single
proces for all documents? And not separate soffice.bin processes for each
document. Sending a large print job or exporting a large file make all other
documents barely usable.
Same for saving large Calc sheet. On a hang/freeze a single process can be
terminated. It would reduce the chance of losing work if an instance would
crash.

It probably would increase the memory usage a little, but i think thats
bearable.

Splitting process rather normal on Windows as far I know. Not sure about the
Linux/Mac environment

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Writer
2. Press CTRL+N

Actual Results:
Everything running in a single proces/container

Expected Results:
Multiple containers/processes

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

2020-03-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon

I do not understand where is the problem : ctrl+Shift+J toggle between normal
screen and full screen with a small toolbar containing only one button named
"Full Screen". This button is useful for users who go inadvertently in full
screen mode.
I do not see how to close this toolbar.

So I propose to close this bug report as NotABug.

Best regards. JBF

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131653] Choosing Formula Syntax 'Excel A1' is not reflected in INDIRECT function for sheet references

2020-03-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131653

No, indeed I haven't, in my defence, this is a pretty obscure setting!

With this setting, it works, I note that this setting has an option

'Calc A1 | Excel A1'

which worked for me and made all versions work in the example I attached
earlier. It would be nice if this was the defualt, if there's no major
technical reason not to. It would also be nice there was such an option in the
other option (Tools -> Options -> LibreOffice Calc -> Formula -> Formula
Options -> Formula Syntax) and that this option was the default setting. My
final change to this report will be to switch it back to an enhancement
request, for this.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131680] New: Copy and paste, clipboard issues in LibreOffice and Gnome (Linux)

2020-03-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131680

Bug ID: 131680
Summary: Copy and paste, clipboard issues in LibreOffice and
Gnome (Linux)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.4.2.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mikeoldma...@gmail.com

Description:
When copying something from a website (e.g. text) into LibreOffice sometimes
the following issues are present:
- nothing happens (the copied text does not appear when pasting)
- old clipboard entries are pasted (text that had been copied before)
- when cutting text in LibreOffice and pasting it somewhere else in the
document the content is lost (nothing happens)

I don't know if this is a LibreOffice or GNOME issue, but I found some old bug
reports about similar issues on Bugzilla (LibreOffice).

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Copy and paste text from a website to LibreOffice
2. Cut parts of the text and paste somewhere else in the document (maybe a few
times)

Actual Results:
Sometimes the content is lost (nothing happens) or old entries are pasted

Expected Results:
Copy/paste the correct entries.

Reproducible: Sometimes

User Profile Reset: No

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
I have noticed this issue in LibreOffice Writer and Impress.
There seems to be no issue with some other desktop environments like XFCE.

Confirmed with this version.

1. Create the default writer document.
2. Go to "Page Style (Default) > Area". Press "Bitmap", then press "Add/Import"
and import a background image. Save it using the default dialogue box that pops
up. Then press "Apply."

EXPECTED RESULT: Icon should be accessible under "Bitmap" using the scrollbar.
ACTUAL RESULT: Icon is not accessible.

3. Close dialogue and reopen.

RESULT: The imported background is accessible again via scrollbar.

4. Close dialogue. Save, close then reopen file; then open dialogue again.

RESULT: Background is inaccessible, and remains so permananetly. The same goes
for any other backgrounds you import.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131560] Data/Form provides access to cells that are protected

2020-03-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131560

Hi,
I have found an extension that appears to try to do some of what I am trying to
achieve (https://extensions.libreoffice.org/extensions/enhanced-form). I have
tried it and found a couple of limitations/bugs which I will report to the
author to see if he can deal with them, but it is good for visualisation of the
need:
1. Validation does not work in the form when the "Data Validation" is
"Allow"="Cell Range", and "Source"=a named range. The validation takes the name
of the range minus it's first character as the only entry in the list, so I
replaced it with the explicit range of cells (in the form $Sheet.$A$1:$A$63),
however that exposed a second bug:
2. The code is incorrect in the module 'ListFiltre' line 145 "Redim Preserve
ListFiltre(x)" is using x (I cannot see where this is declared/set, but just
happened to have an unchanging value of 56) for this array which is being set
with the allowable values. As my array is 63 lines long, this causes an error,
my belief is the code should say "Redim Preserve ListFiltre(xf)", as xf is
counting the number of values that will appear in the list.
3. It is not passing values back to the main cell properly (Particularly from
the cells with data validation!
Many thanks for your help.
Paul

The input ODT

When exporting the attached ODT to PDF, the embedded video had the wrong size
and position. It's too small and too much to the left. See the attached
video.pdf for the result.

I originally reported this at https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419359
because I thought it was a problem with my PDF reader (Okular). But the Okular
maintainer tested in Acrobat Reader DC, and the size/position is wrong there
too, so it's problem with LibreOffice Writer's PDF export.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131671] New: Change of data point icon color in Calc's XY Chart not reflected in preview

2020-03-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131671

Bug ID: 131671
Summary: Change of data point icon color in Calc's XY Chart not
reflected in preview
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.5.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Chart
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: alanandpe...@outlook.com

Description:
When formatting a data series in a Calc XY Chart, a change to the color of the
data point icon is not shown in the preview (the original color is displayed in
the preview) However, if a line style is present or changed, the new color for
the line is shown in the Preview Box, while the icon remains in the original
color.

However, the color of the data point icons on the chart itself is changed to
that required when the change is actioned.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. In Calc, create some data for XY chart with 1st column as labels
2. Create XY chart with points and lines
3. Select data series
4. Change color of data point icon and line
5. Change line style or icon symbol

Actual Results:
In the Preview Box, the color of the line changes but not that of the data
point icon, which continues to be displayed in the original color.
(The color of the data point icons on the chart itself does get changed OK)

Expected Results:
In the preview box, the color of both the line and the data point icon should
change to the newly selected color.
