[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 140494] New: Typing lag--Input lags very far behind keystrokes
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=140494 Bug ID: 140494 Summary: Typing lag--Input lags very far behind keystrokes Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.1.0.3 release Hardware: All OS: other Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: adcastelle...@gmail.com Description: I'm running !Pop OS 20.10 and Libreoffice 7.1. However, this problem was been with me since somewhere in Version 6. My hardware is Ryzen 7 37600 processor with 16 Gb and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Mobile graphics processor. What happens is that when I type in any LibreOffice application, there is a long lag between when I hit a key and the letter or number appearing on screen. It is very pronoucned in Calc, but also noticeable in Writer. With an empty Writer document, the typing looks just fine until about 40 characters in, then the lag shows up and increases as I type. I can see a lag between keystroke as long as five seconds or even more. I installed FreeOffice to check whether the issue is with my system or hardware. There is no lag in FreeOffice nor in Abi Word. This seems to only happen in Libreoffice. I tried disabling OpenCL, disabling Java, and increasing the application memory. None of this fixed the issue. Oddly enough, when the Nvidia driver is disabled, things work fine; there's no lag. This appears to be some kind of compatibility issue with Libreoffice and the Nvidia graphics card. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open Writer or Calc and start typing. The lag shows up right away. 2. 3. Actual Results: For me, all it takes is starting Writer or Calc and typing something into a document or spreadsheet cell. I noticed this first with a complicated financial spreadsheet. Expected Results: I saw increasing lag between my keystroke and the characters I typed showing up on screen. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes OpenGL enabled: Yes Additional Info: There should be no noticeable delay between hitting the keyboard and seeing text or numbers appear on screen. Note, although Open GL is currently enabled, I have tried disabling it to no avail. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Create a table of 'X' number of columns, 'Y' number of rows. Highlight all columns; select center data. The first cell of the last column is not centered, or highlight all rows; selected center data. The last cell of the first column is not centered. 2. Create a table of 'X' number of columns, 'Y' number of rows. Create a second table of 'X' number of columns, 'Y' number of rows. Merge the two tables by deleting the blank line between the two tables. Now highlight one of the columns. Notice the highlighted column does not extend beyond the first table. Once the tables have been merged, they should become one table. 3. Using the two tables in problem 2. You cannot highlight rows beyond the first table. 4. Create a numbered list (say 3 numbers). Now highlight the wordage of the first number. Cut this information and paste it into any column of a table. Notice the line is copied with the next number of the numbered list. Deleting the number does not let the copied information go to the start of the column. 5. Let's say you have a table of ten columns and you decide to delete the first five columns. When the five columns are selected and the delete command is given. The selected columns are not deleted but merged into the sixth column. The first column is now the size of the first six columns. It should be exponential and two-colored, see attached exported PDF. Observed using LO 7.2.0.0.alpha0+ (cbcec4425e04e3614a2025b49fdc221216ac51d3), 7.0.0.3 / Ubuntu. Looks different in 6.4.0.3, it has the expected two colors, but is still linear. Looks fine in 6.2.0.3. This is a regression that happened in two steps. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 140488] New: unable to create read-only copy when opening document opened by other samba share user
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=140488 Bug ID: 140488 Summary: unable to create read-only copy when opening document opened by other samba share user Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.4.7.2 release Hardware: All OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: jelledej...@powercraft.nl steps to reproduce: 1. have a document (odt, docx, etc) on a samba smb3 share (oplocks enabled or disabled did not make a diffrence). 2. open the document with libreoffice 6.4.7-0ubuntu0.20.04.1~lo1 as userA 3. open the document with libreoffice as userB 4.. warning shows up that document is opened by userA, choose to read-only or create a copy... 5. either choosing read-onluy or create-copy will produce an access denied error or empty document. 6. trying to copy the file as userB while opened as userB will also create errors with the caja file-manger under Linux Mint 20. My guess is that libreoffice creates some kind of kernel file lock that also disables the read access instead of only taking away the write access. Then in our setup that also include Collabra (paid support), when Collabora has an document opened, then opening the document with LibreOffice from the samba share does not create any errors or warnings that the document is in use, causing all kind or unwanted situations. However Collabra does throw an error that it can not read the document when the document was first opened with LibreOffice. Any help is appreciated, would like my customers and organizations to be able to use LibreOffice on shared samba drives without the risk of data loss (happened a few times with end-users that did not understand fully what was going on) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 140076] Frame loses horizontal position when moved vertically..
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=140076 --- Comment #7 from mango wodzak --- Let me try and explain the issue again, as perhaps I didn’t do the best job the first time.. In the attached file, if you double click on the frame, to get the frame properties, then under the tab “type” you will see the position of “horizontal” is “right”. Now if you close that properties box, click on the frame and press down arrow, so the frame moves downward, and then double click on the frame again to get the properties box, you will see that the horizontal position is no longer “right” but “from left” by 11.07cm .. it looks like it is still position to the right margin, but it is actually position relative to the left margin.. which means that wwhen I resize the document, I have to reposition it to the right margin. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 140355] Images in frame growing after DOCX export
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=140355 --- Comment #5 from Telesto --- >From Bug 140370 Created attachment 169822 [details] The original file with slightly resized table and its docx version This is not the usual image+caption in a frame, but images and text in a table. Resizing the table makes the scaling of the left image change: from 59% width and 65% height to 50% width and 63% height. The scaling export bug makes the 50% width becoming 63%, so it does no longer fit in the cell and the right side disappears. But manually changing the values fixes the layout for me. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 140105] The TAB character is removed when used 3 lines in a row in writer.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=140105 --- Comment #5 from Andy Hird --- I can also confirm this issue on v 7.1.1.1 As a bit of clarification, this is not using the bulleted or order list options to create the list formatting for you. The indenting is generated with TABs as mentioned by Dan, and then one of the TABs is automatically removed when adding a new line. This could (at least) be annoying for users that copy text from a text file, and then begin to make changes in LO Writer. Here are the steps I take to reproduce the issue: 1. Use TAB to indent a line and type 'a.' then SPACE, and then some text >a. first line of text 2. Hit ENTER to start a new line 3. Repeat Step 1 to create a second line of text >b. second line of text 4. Hit ENTER to start a new line 5. Repeat Step 1 to create a third line of text >c. third line of text 6. Hit ENTER The result is that a new line is created and the indentation of the third line is removed. a. first line of text b. second line of text c. third line of text Note: If you fix this by going back up a line and re-adding the TAB to before the 'c.' you can then go back down (with ARROW key) to the new line and the 'c. ' line is left alone. But if you add another line ('d. some text') and then hit ENTER, the same thing happens again. However, if you do the same thing AGAIN with a 5th line ('e. some text') it doesn't happen. ADDITIONALLY... The TAB character is removed on the FIRST line when using other list characters '1.' (with decimal), 'I.' (with decimal) and '*' (no decimal). So, for example... 1. Use TAB to indent a line and type '1.' then SPACE, and then some text >1. first line of text 2. Hit ENTER to start a new line The result is that a new line is created but the indentation of the third line is removed. 1. first line of text I have not seen it happen (yet) with other easily typeable characters (#, $, >) that I imagine someone might use to create a list. I have not yet experimented with other characters that might be copied from another file.
