[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 142563] New: Writer AutoRecovery of some files only or auto-select all
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142563 Bug ID: 142563 Summary: Writer AutoRecovery of some files only or auto-select all Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.4.7.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: nick_levin...@yahoo.com Description: After a crash and restart of LO when several files are available to be recovered, we can't be selective about recovery and can't shift-select everything. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start LibreOffice Writer. 2. Tools menu > Options > Load/Save > General > Save > Save AutoRecovery Information Every . . . Minutes has to be on and set for an interval suitable for this purpose. 3. File > New > Text Document and create some content. 4. Repeat step 2. When I discovered this problem, I had made 4 docs. 5. Wait past the interval set for AutoRecovery in STR 2. I don't think LO signals you that the interval has passed, so just don't do the next step too soon. 6. Power off without saving, quitting, logging off, restarting, or shutting down. In my case, I hadn't paid attention to the battery running down. 7. Power up (I plugged into AC power and pressed the power button). Do the normal start process. 8. Start LibreOffice. It will present you with an option to try to recover all the pre-crash files you made (Untitled 1, Untitled 2, etc.). 9. Notice that in the list of files only the first one is selected. Try to shift-select all of them. You can’t, so click the Start button. Don't click the Discard button. Actual Results: All will be recovered (and thus you can click the Finish button). By implication, therefore, you could not have opted to recover only some files and discarded others. Expected Results: Ability to select which files to recover or, if that's not feasible, the auto-selecting of all of the files in the list. Selecting with discarding of anything not selected would conflict with users' expectations if they've recovered multiple files in the past without shift-selecting, and we wouldn't know which users those are. Therefore, unless all files were selected, ask the user to confirm the discarding of unselected files. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: I haven't tested other modules (Calc, Base, etc.), but I imagine they're similar. Platform: Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS, kept evergreen. LO: Version: 6.4.7.2 Build ID: 1:6.4.7-0ubuntu0.20.04.1 CPU threads: 2; OS: Linux 5.8; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3; Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US Calc: threaded The UserProfile should be irrelevant. I don't think I have OpenGL. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 142560] Fallback glyphs are missing and the result text layout mess up
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142560 --- Comment #3 from Mark Hung --- Hi Luboš, I think this issue is related t0 how pre-coumputed glyph items are handled for fallback layouts, which was introduced in 7439cabc643d. OutputDevice::ImplGlyphFallbackLayout does not generate level>1 fallback because those fallback glyph items have been removed. But even if I try to force it to use pre-computed glyph items, the layout still messes up. I guess it's because the glyph item cache are not valid, after adjustment. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 142561] New: Editing: Enable unformated text copy of Calc cells containing line breaks
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142561 Bug ID: 142561 Summary: Editing: Enable unformated text copy of Calc cells containing line breaks Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: patch.pub...@gmail.com Description: Unformatted text copy of a Calc spreadsheet in which some cells contain line breaks results in the intra-cell line break being replaced by a space. It would be preferable if Calc used a clipboard format which retained the line break. In more detail Calc supports unformated text clipboard paste with cells containing linefeed or carriage return characters. Quoting is used to prevent intra-cell line breaks being interpreted as end of row markers. Calc can save a sheet in Text CSV format with cells containing intra-cell line breaks. The Field delimiter can be set to {Tab} and String delimiter to “. Quoting is used to prevent intra-cell line breaks being interpreted as end of row markers. In contrast when a clipboard copy is done, instead of using the above Text CSV format, Calc replaces the intra-cell line breaks with space and does not use any quoting. Resulting in data corruption when pasting Plane text into LibreOffice or other applications. By comparison both Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets preserve intra-cell line breaks during plan text copy and paste. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open a new calc document 2. In a cell type: HelloWorld 3. Copy the cell and surrounding Actual Results: 4. In calc use paste special text only or paste in an application which accepts only text Expected Results: 5. Paste result has line feed replaced by Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: 6. Ideally libreOffice calc should behave the same as cvs file export format. When a cell contains a special character such as linefeed, the character should be retained and quoting added to identify the linefeed is part of the cell contents rather than starting a new row. This would enable unformated paste of multi-line cells within LibreOffice and also into third party applications See also https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/311810/enable-unformated-text-copy-of-calc-cells-containing-line-breaks/ -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

You are right, "linked" is not the correct wording, enhancement request is concerning merged cells. The cells get the size of every row even when merged cell content exceeds this size. Single cells are resized to fit their content. Our API has properties ShadowXDistance and ShadowYDistance. VML has property offset as "x,y" OOXML has shadow attributes dist (distance) and dir (direction angle). They all can us arbitrary directions of a shadow. LibreOffice can even render such shadow, see attached document. Only the dialog restricts the shadow direction to Top, TopRight, Right, BottomRight, Buttom, BottomLeft, Left, TopLeft and Center. Therefore my request is to enhance LibreOffice, that all directions are possible for the user in the UI and the exact direction is used on load and save, not only with ODF but with OOXML too. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
