[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 149908] Iranian Calendar into Calc
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=149908 Mike Kaganski changed: What|Removed |Added CC||er...@redhat.com --- Comment #1 from Mike Kaganski --- If I understand it correctly, *and* if Wikipedia has it correctly, there is no such specific thing as "the Iranian Calendar", but a group of different "Iranian Calendars" [1]. Jalali was one of them [2], and it was *not* implemented in Excel, but Solar Hijri calendar [3] - another calendar, different from Jalali - was [4] (which was mixed with Jalali in the article/question). In LibreOffice, there is support for various calendars [5]; it lists "Hijri", but AFAIK, it is the Lunar Hijri (Islamic calendar) [6]. So the questions here are: 1. Which specific calendar should be supported out of the different calendars? What I wrote was just an outsider's speculations based on some googling. A reference to the exact authoritative algorithm how it is calculated would be great. 2. Should the MS syntax for the extended codes be adopted? 3. Correct existing mentions of Hijri in out documentation to refer to Lunar Hijri. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 149874] LibreOffice Writer 7.3.4.2 corrupts previously saved documents
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=149874 --- Comment #3 from j...@lauterbachandassociates.net --- I followed the suggestion to use the non-Ubuntu-specific version of the latest version of LibreOffice. I first removed the Ubuntu version, and then installed the version from your website. Of course, I had to save my documents before doing that, and I also rebooted my system. I then opened the "problem" document. Before saving the document (docx format as that is required by the journal that will receive the manuscript), I made sure that the two images were anchored to the page (not paragraph or character), and I protected contents, position, and size. Wrap was set to off and overlay was not marked. When I reopened the document with your (not Ubuntu) version of LibreOffice Writer, all protection for contents, position, and size HAD BEEN REMOVED, and the images were anchored to character, NOT THE PAGE. So, I had to reposition the images. When I anchored them to the page as in the original document, the images moved to the wrong position. Images, graphs, and tables are essential aspects of my scientific manuscripts. What do I have to do to keep LibreOffice Writer from corrupting my documents? But now I don't think RTF format supports tracking edits. And it ended up corrupting and destroying the file. If RTF format doesn't support tracking changes, it shouldn't let the user do it. Maybe just a simple check when a person saves a file (1 - Does it have tracked editing changes, 2 - Is he saving it in a file format that doesn't support those changes), that would trigger a Warning to the user. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Make word processing file with added text, copied text, deleted text, and track changes in editing mode. 2.Save file. 3.Close and open it. It may be corrupted so and barely usable. Actual Results: The text remains but the tracked changes confuses it, and thinks some of the text was added or substracted and it is hopelessly corrupted. Expected Results: If saving the file ruins the file, then people shouldn't be allowed to save it in that format. Or at the very least, a warning should be issued ("You are tracking editing changes. Warning, if you save in RTF format you may destroy your file") Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: . -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67741] EDITING: Date entry with numeric keypad
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67741 Hossein changed: What|Removed |Added Whiteboard||reviewed:2022 --- Comment #18 from Hossein --- Re-evaluating the EasyHack in 2022 "It would be nice to have a defined method for quickly entering dates on the numeric pad, ideally without separators as it is easier to type zeros than dashes or slashes." This enhancement is still relevant. That is also the case for entering IP addresses, as it would be easier to enter the numbers and avoid separators. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 149859] Exported pdf displays in firefox and acrobat as titled "landscape."
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=149859 --- Comment #5 from Mike Kaganski --- The problem appears to happen at the "Save as Template" stage, when the name entered into the dialog gets written also as the template document's title: SfxDocTplService_Impl::storeTemplate [1] sets the "DocumentTitle" property; then it is used in TransformParameters [2] and then in SfxObjectShell::APISaveAs_Impl [3]. Setting the "DocumentTitle" in [1] was added in commit 72d6767bb2eafee703c429fd1b6fb562ebb43caa, and the need for that wasn't mentioned there.
