Entiendo que la respuesta que obtuviste no es la que esperas, pero de eso a argüir que hubo agresión... creo que alegatos así no cuadran en un ambiente en el que todxs estamos colaborando desinteresadamente en favor de un proyecto común. O quién sabe, a lo mejor no va para mí y yal vez se trate de una simple reacción instintiva ante una respuesta que quizás se perciba como seca; quienes me conocen saben que no estoy en ese plan. Te explicaría que tampoco se trata de un término circunscrito a alguna región hispanoparlante, pero como que el ambiente aquí ya se enrareció y no sé si haya cabeza para ello. Y sí, sí está «en español». «Ampliación» se pudo haber usado pero su campo semántico no es exactamente equivalente al inglés «zoom». These people at the RAE sometimes take ages to take a step forward, and sometimes they take one that is difficult for my modest intelligence to understand. I don't know how many Spanish speakers would write the word like that, without having seen the dictionary. It really makes me squeal when I see it. No sé cuantas personas castellano-parlantes escribirían la palabra así, sin haber visto el diccionario. Realmente me chirría al verlo. Morales' appreciation regarding the use of "Zum" instead of "Zoom" for LibreOffice applications in Spanish. It happens that we, native Spanish speakers, are possibly not yet ready to see the word "Zum" as an adaptation of the term "Zoom" in Spanish software applications. Paradoxically, "Zoom" is too deeply rooted in our collective subconscious. That is why we continue to resist change. Although this resistance to change is also due to our lack of knowledge and research. If we do a little research, we can learn that "Zum" was included in the "Diccionario panhispánico de dudas 2005" of the RAE (Real Academia de la Lengua Española). https://www.rae.es/dpd/zum https://dle.rae.es/zum?m=form However, no other software had dared to break the paradigm and apply the change. So there is no mistake in translating "Zoom" as "Zum" in Spanish.
