AutoCorrect dialog box

For someone who is unaware of this bug, if he makes a change to the locale
setting, he would later be wondering why everything under AutoCorrect aren't
working.

Thank, Thomas, for the attention to this. It's not a show stopper, but it can
be bewildering and frustrating for one who's using English, and have set the
locale setting to a non-English locale.

LibreOffice currently does not support embedding of MP4 and MOV that use the
very popular H.264 video compression standard.

How to reproduce:
* Download the sample video here:
http://webian.org/dev/export/22/prototypes/html5/videos/trailer_dvd.mp4
* Create a new impress file and try to embedd the video via Insert - Movie
and Sound.
* The file embedds and also the sound works, but video does not work.
* Apparently the H.264 compression is not supported: ** Message: don't know
how to handle video/x-h264, stream-format=(string)byte-stream,
alignment=(string)au, level=(string)3, profile=(string)main, width=(int)720,
height=(int)576, framerate=(fraction)25/1,
pixel-aspect-ratio=(fraction)259/180, parsed=(boolean)true

Solution:
Please add support for the H.264 compression standard.

Characters messed up after scrolling up and down in the LivreOffice 4 help

Problem description:
Hello,

I'm using Linux Mint 14 x64 MATE kernel 3.5.0-17, with a NVIDIA GTX 460 graphic
card and the nouveau driver. When I scroll up or down in LibreOffice 4 writer
the most of the characters mess up or dissapear. The same happens if I select a
wide zone with the mouse. If I minimize the window and restore it the
characters are well displayed, but if I scroll again all mess up again.
Nevertheless with LibreOffice 3.6.4 it doesn't happen, it just happen in
LibreOffice 4.

Using the NVIDIA privative drivers it is solved, but these drivers doesn't work
well with other applications I use, so using the NVIDIA privative drivers is
not a solution for my problem.

How do I fix this problem in LibreOffice 4?

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open LibreOffice writer 4.0.0.3 release
2. Go to help LibreOffice help
3. Scroll up and down

Current behavior: help text's characters mess up

Expected behavior: you should be able to read the help flawlessly scrolling up
or down

Odt file with copiright sign which cases a crash on pdf export

Hello!

I have an odt document which consist a copyright character, which was copied
from ms-word and pasted in the odt-document. And it seems that character cause
a crash when i try to export to pdf.

Investigating the problem i found out that LO handles that character
differently depending on how I open the file.

On Windows, when I double-click the file, Writer app starts, opens the file and
displays that symbol correctly as c in circle. Then if I try to export it to
PDF LO invariably crashes, sometimes also giving me a weird message that the
file was blocked by another user (right before a crash)...

BUT! If I firstly start LO with Start menu, then open the file using File-Open
menu, copyright sign is displayed as a placeholder (a small rectangle instead
of normal character). In this case PDF exporting works fine.

Expected behavior:
LO always displays that character correctly regardless of how the file was
opened and never crashes on exporting it to PDF.

That symbol code is U+F0D3.
OS: Win 7 x64,
LO version is 4.0.0.3 (Build ID: 7545bee9c2a0782548772a21bc84a9dcc583b89), but
it seems 3.6.2 is affected too.

Open the query and try to chga the with of the field Name and Town

In Base you could change the column-width of tables and of queries. Mostly the
automatic values are unusable. So I have changed it with the context-menue or
by dragging the header with the mouse.
When I change this in the tables it is saved in the *.odb-file. Opening the
file later and the column has the same width when I have closed the table the
last time.
When I change the width in a query it hasn't be saved in the *.odb-file.
Opening the query again and the columns are set to automatic again - except
the columns, which have been set manually by changing the columns in the table.

Uhm just a additional note: that was an installation on OS X 10.7.5 (so all
patches installed), but on a Laptop with Mac OS X 10.6.8 it looks just fine.
Very strange.

It would be nice if the select Personas dialog would remember the URL to the
currently applied persona. Even better would be a list of all personas that
have been applied, so that it is easy to choose between them.

It would also be nice if this list was editable, so that you could delete
personas that you do not intend to use again.

term$ libreoffice --headless --convert-to pdf --outdir /tmp/
/corrupted/or/invalid/file/path.doc

When the file to convert is corrupted, no error messages are sent. Even if the
file do not exists, no errors are returned. And the badest part is that the
return code will every be: 0, aka: no error.
This is really confusing, and makes the feature dificultly usable inside shell
scripts.

Steps to reproduce:
libreoffice --headless --convert-to pdf --outdir /tmp /UNEXISTING/PATH
libreoffice --headless --convert-to pdf --outdir /tmp /CORRUPTED/DOC

  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.0.2 rc
 Component: Spreadsheet

Problem description:

Steps to reproduce:
1. I go to File/Open and go to a network mounted file system
2. I go to a network mounted file system and try to open an ODS file
3. I get error message General Error. General Input/Output error

Current behavior:
I'm trying to open a file that opened fine with 3.6.5.2. Actually any .ods
file fails when you try to open it. This occurs when the file is actually
located on a windows XP SP3 system and is mounted via my home network to my
Ubuntu 12.10 system. .xls files open fine, it's just .ods files that fail.
.ods files on my actual Ubuntu machine open correctly. I didn't check the text
editor files etc. Both systems are at current maintenance levels.

Expected behavior:
I expect .ods files to open correctly like the .xls files do across my network.

This is a duplicate report.

looses it's bullet.

Steps required to reproduce:
- Open the attached example presentation
- Navigate cursor to the bullet list
- Press enter to start a new line
- The new line has a bullet on the left
- CopyPaste some text into that line - Bullet is removed. Even pressing the
Bullets On/Off-toolbar button does not restore the bullet.

Also, in general it is against policy for a reporter to report their own bug as
a MAB. QA or an independent person should do this. Lastly, only confirmed bugs
(again independently confirmed) can be a MAB, removing MAB blocker.

Your corrupted file opens fine in LO 4.0.1.0+ (Build ID:

Version is the oldest version that we see the issue, we use comments to say
that we've confirmed on a newer release. Changing version back.

Also, I heavily disagree that this is a normal bug...normal bug means you are
UNABLE to make high quality work, because there is a workaround, you are not
prevented from doing so. That being said, I will leave it as normal.

--- Comment #6 from rob...@familiegrosskopf.de ---
It could be a special problem of LO, when LO creates reproducable corrupt
reports with the report-builder.
If you attach a file with one corrupt report and write down, that it is a bug
LO couldn't open this report any more for editing, nobody could confirm, that
this is a problem of LO.
If you write down a specific way step by step to produce such a corrupt report
other persons could confirm, that there is a bug. This is the first step that
it could be solved by anybody.
I have opened the file projekte.odb. Then I have had a look at the directory
reports. In the report, which couldn't be opened, was an corrupt file
styles.xml. I couldn't repair this file, but have copied the same file from
another report. So the report Projektliste3 could be opened again.
I will attach the repaired document to this bug-report.

Please let me apologize. I didn't expect a response.
I have since deleted the Data Base and it's address labels. I have
created a Spread Sheet for Addresses and then created the Address
Labels. Using Spread Sheet was so much easier and worked as instructed
perfectly.
It wasn't about the columns it was about just creating address labels
from an edited data base, which should update the Address Labels. 10
attempts, never worked. Very convoluted.
Thank You for your time and effort and your response.

Hi Markus,

Thanks for the reply. I will look into this on Monday as I have a few spare
hours. The problem is my schedule is tight as I have final year projects to do
at the moment and seeing as this is my first time contributing to an open
source project it might take a few weeks to do this, I assume that's ok? if
that is ok then I will start cracking into them come Monday. I've done a fairly
extensive suite of unit tests with Google test. So other frameworks should work
similarly.

At the moment I'm looking at the coding standards to try and familiarise myself
with the standards. If you feel I should know more information do please let me
know.

Select Insert-Envelope from Writer's main menu.
Go the the dialog's Printer tab.

Note that on that tab, the 4th thru 6th Envelope orientation icons seem to be
incorrect; each of them needs to be flipped horizontally.

To show you what I mean, I have attached 2 documents:

2. Envelope Orienation - Edited.jpqShows this dialog's Printer tab, as it

(In reply to comment #6)
 I
think the correct summary would be
Format Paint Brush doesn't change background highlighted text color to 'no
  fill'
Agreed; I'll set this bug on my todo list and try to keep this bug in mind
(if no response from bug reporter I'll change the title)

Therefore - edit summary

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 60558] New: Microsoft 10 file will not open correctly.

2013-02-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60558

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 60558
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Microsoft 10 file will not open correctly.
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: catslov...@sti.net
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.0.0.alpha0+ Master
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 74505

This is the original Microsoft Word 10 file

I have some business lable files that are created in Microsoft Office 10. When
I try to open them in LibreOffice 4.0 with a text document the formatting is
ont correct. The file is save as a .docx file. The main problem is that I
have one part of the lable upside down and it opens right side up in
LibreOffice. How can I fix this? I want to switch programs, but if I can not
turn part of the lable upside down I will not be able to use it. I have added
the original Word file and how it looks when I open it in LibreOffice.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 55385] Sorting and grouping problem

Shows a report, which should be grouped by Month with Report-Builder

The internal function of grouping a report by the month of a date doesn't work
with the Report-Builder. You could only group a report by month, when you first
create a query, which should select the months of a date.
The same problem with year.

I can confirm the document doesn't open correct.
Tested using Linux Mint 14 x64 with LibreOffice Version 4.1.0.0.alpha0+ (Build
ID: df931a5b0f48707e34ebfacb695996198ece8f4). Therefore I mark this as new.

I mark this bug as 'Normal High':
Normal: you can open it
High: absolutely not correctly

I'll upload some terminal output.

Kind regards,
Joren

Thanks for reporting!
Can't reproduce using Linux Mint 14 x64 using LibreOffice 4.0.0.3 rc3. Seems
like a windows only bug?
