[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 149570] Can't undo removing columns / rows until leaving the table or adding to history stack (steps in comment 4)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=149570 --- Comment #10 from Tomaz Vajngerl --- (In reply to Eyal Rozenberg from comment #9) > It was not _necessary_. You mean to say, it was a hack which avoided a > problem by breaking the feature with which the problem manifstered. As I said the change was necessary to make it work with multiple views / users. It's not a hack, it's actually conceptually the right way and the only way to do it that makes sense (concurrently). The hack was the initial code, which was hacking around with the primary undo stack. If there is a bug it's just something that tests don't cover and was missed during implementation. > So, let us file _that_ bug and fix it. That was fixed by the commit... > ... which is also a bug, is it not? It was intentionally done like that before and I just didn't change the behavior. It surely would be nicer to have all the actions even when you leave the editing mode append into the primary undo stack. > So, is it also possible to perform several distinct undoable tasks with a > textbox? and that only this entering-the-edit-box thing prevents us from > being able to undo them individually? It should be possible to just copy all the actions over, but I haven't explored that. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

- Using the word processor writer, I inserted a basic shape into my document and added a text box by right clicking. However, since the text stays centered in the frame, then I created a new text box inside the frame by anchoring the text box to the frame. I also added an image and anchored the image to the frame. After I finished my work and saved my document, I found that the frames were still visible but the added and anchored text boxes and images were no longer showing. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=154255 Bug ID: 154255 Summary: Support embedded PDF viewing and zooming as vectorial instead of rasterized image Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.5.0.3 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: med.medin.2...@gmail.com When we import a technical PDF drawing that contains small details, the embedded PDF is replaced by a rasterized image inside Writer, the problem is that we don't want to export to PDF to be able to view those small details, but we would like to view them inside Writer. We know that there is PDFIMPORT_RESOLUTION_DPI env var that can be set to higher value to obtain rasterized substitution with higher resolution, but it's not practical at all to tell every user to set a specific DPI on each machine either at launch time or in LO options dialog. It would be awesome to be able to view embedded PDFs as vector image like what we already have with SVG format, because PDF format keeps original embedded fonts and colors and produce high quality output without any distortion. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

Unfortunately, I am clueless working in the Calc code (@Caolán McNamara is much more familiar with that code than me). But, I am familiar with the low level code that handles the native swipe events before they are dispatched to Writer, Calc, etc. So I'll starting debugging from that end and see if I can find if swipe events are being missed or not dispatched to Calc. The extension includes en_AU (Australian), en_CA (Canadian), en_GB (British), en_US (American), and en_ZA (South African). [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 154257] New: Export of circular gradient needs tileRect attribute
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=154257 Bug ID: 154257 Summary: Export of circular gradient needs tileRect attribute Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.6.0.0 alpha0+ Master Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: rb.hensc...@t-online.de Created attachment 186047 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=186047&action=edit examples of circular gradient plus screenshot Open attached odt document and save it to docx. Open the document in Word. The outer circle of the gradient area has wrong position. (MS Office uses a quadratic color interpolation in this case. If you change the gradient stop position from 0 to 1 in the file markup, MS Office will use the same linear color interpolation as LO. MS Office uses linear color interpolation also if a third gradient stop exists. So doubling the first color stop forces linear color interpolation as well. Such could be done on export, but would be a different problem.) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

Opening that file in Word shows, that it fixes the export problem. In addition, I have changed pos 0 to 1 to force linear color interpolation. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 154254] Adding precision is lost when calculation is done by steps
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=154254 Mike Kaganski changed: What|Removed |Added Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED Resolution|--- |NOTABUG --- Comment #1 from Mike Kaganski --- This is not a bug. Floating-point calculations in Calc are imprecise by nature [1]. Every single calculation may (and in most cases does) create a calculation error; sum of these errors would usually be non-0. However, there are ways to account for the error *inside a series of calculations* - such as Kahan algorithm and its variations [2]. Note that it can only increase precision when during the series of calculations, not only the intermediate results are stored (which have errors every time), but also separate values of errors, which are combined independently, and are added to the final result of the main sum. Such an algorithm had been implemented in Calc in version 7.2 (bug 137679). So now the calculations that are performed together can benefit from that. But calculations that store intermediate results separately, obviously loose the error information.
