Each slot has a different ID number to the system, so I guess if you move
slots, it's the same as moving a card in an ISA or PCI slot - aha, says the
system, something's been removed, something else has been inserted, so
unload one, load the other.

There are probably physical addressing implications (either that or

Yeah guys, but don't you think it's strange that the combo card, when
switched from the Libby to the cardstation *only* requested the modem
driver and not the network card driver?

I think this may be wandering off topic, but to follow up on what Neil said,
I have noticed that if I insert a 3-Com Network/Modem ( FEM-656c ) it
reinstalls drivers each and every different slot it goes in. So, with a
Libretto 100 with 2 slots, and in the replicator 2 more, you can have four
copies of the network adapter driver. It looks weird in the Notwork
Maybehood properties, but it works.

Hay guys this is a 3Com feature. The idea being you can install in slot 1 for work
and then install in slot 2 for home, or a second work location. The 3Com software
treats each slot as if it was a diffrent card. Thus you can have DHCP enable or
disabled
and/or you could have TCIP or netbios enabled or disabled per slot.

Ok; Jon I was talking about the 3Com card that Pres has, a FEM-656c,
what might be applied to you is that this appears to be a feature that the
driver writer can implement. Is it possible that you do not have the latest
drivers for your card? or is it possible that you have not deleted an older
driver completely? Does your manual talk about installing diferent configurations
based on slot or location?
