Re: [linux-dvb] Kworld DVB-T 210 - dvb tuning problem

With a fresh install of ubuntu 7.10 (kernel i386 2.6.22-14-generic), the card is auto recognised as: Kworld DVB-T 210 (card=114) However, tda1004 firmware does not load. Used download-firmware, placed dvb-fe-tda10046.fw into /lib/firmware/2.6.22-14-generic Rebooted. Now, again card is recognised, firmware recognised as version 20. Here is the strange part: - using dvb-utils scan, each time I run that I get a different result in channels. - I try to scan with Kaffeine - nothing - I try to scan with Me-tv - nothing - I try to scan with tvtime - all channels obtained ( no audio). Now, after reboot, if I first start tvtime (analog tv), view a channel, turn tvtime off, and then : - if I place a previously good channels.dvb in Kaffeine - it plays all channels. - if I place a previously good channels.conf in Me-tv - it plays all channels. Would it be correct to say that the switch is not working for DVB after boot? I have studied the code, but I need your help to point me in the right direction. Thanks, Tim Hermann reported something similar. I have an idea what the reason could be. Please let me check. [linux-dvb] KNC1 TV Station DVB-S2 driver
Hi guys ! I am new to the list. I own a KNC1 TV Station DVB-S2 and I tried to follow this tutorial to make it work on my Linux : http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/KNC1_DVB-S2_TV_Station I know it is quite new since Manu Abraham tested it only 10 days ago but I would like to make it work at least for DVB-S mode. I used the version 7208 of Manu repository (http://jusst.de/hg/multiproto/rev/ecb96c96a69e) since more recent versions complains stops after a invalid ioctl, and because I guess it is the version tested on the 05th of March by Manu. To be perfectly complete, I DO NOT use a Debian Lenny, but a Ubuntu Gutsy (ie. kernel 2.6.22-14-generic) Here is what I get when I use scan : # ./scan -v dvb-s/Hotbird-13.0E scanning dvb-s/Hotbird-13.0E using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0' initial transponder 12539000 H 2750 2750 Entering tune_to_transponder Retrieved fmin=95, fmax=215, inv=0 -- Using 'STB0899 Multistandard' DVB-S Tune to frequency 12539000 (12.539000 GHz) LNB information : low_val = 975, high val = 1060, switch val = 1170 DiSEqC: fd=3 | switch pos 0, 18V, hiband (index 3) diseqc_send_msg:56: DiSEqC: e0 10 38 f3 00 00 diseqc_send_msg:66: - SEC_VOLTAGE_18 diseqc_send_msg:69: - SEC_MINI_A diseqc_send_msg:72: - SEC_TONE_ON setup_switch returned 0 DVB-S IF freq is 1939000 (1939.00 MHz) fe_params.delivery = 0 tuning status == 0x00 tuning status == 0x00 tuning status == 0x00 tuning status == 0x00 tuning status == 0x00 tuning status == 0x00 tuning status == 0x00 tuning status == 0x00 tuning status == 0x00 tuning status == 0x00 tuning status == 0x00 tuning status == 0x00 tuning status == 0x00 tuning status == 0x00 tuning status == 0x00 tuning status == 0x00 tuning status == 0x00 tuning status == 0x00 tuning status == 0x00 tuning status == 0x00 WARNING: tuning failed!!! I've also heard good reports on saa713x-based pci cards. Is the i2c slow in the af9013 driver? Just checked from code and it looks like it is 60 kHz currently. It is not clear for me how kHz correlates to value written to register so let is be this time. Hmm.. 60 kHz compared to 400 kHz is a big difference, but we can deal with that later. The tuner driver is programmed to use 7mhz dvbt with IF centered at 3.8 mhz -- is the demod set to the same? hmm, I think there is bug now. I compared eeprom dumps and found that my MT2060 has IF1 = 36125 and eeprom of this device says it should be IF1 = 4300. Is 4.3 Mhz close enough (we are speaking same thing?)? 4.3 is not close enough to 3.8. If you don't know how to set the demod to 3.8, then we can do some hacks to make it work, but signal reception is likely to be very poor -- better off looking in his snoop log to see how the windows driver sets the demod to 3.8 Jerryd, change .tuner_if = 36125 to 4300 . It can be found from af9015 module. How do I find out about the demod? Is the speed of af9013 a question for me because I have no idea. One thing to test speed is also commenting out program tuner part from af9013 so it does not ask tuner to go frequency. It did not tune then. But, I still needs debug logs of the af9013. Then I can compare much more easier usb-sniff and debug values got from driver. Antti -Mike ___ linux-dvb mailing list linux-dvb@linuxtv.org http://www.linuxtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/linux-dvb

[linux-dvb] Help requested on removing behavior
We are working now on the support for a new device (RTL2831U DVB-T USB2.0 DEVICE). We get a lot of help from the tech support people. Now they have asked me a question that I cannot answer, and I don't know if there is documentation on this. The version now behaves as follows When the stick is inserted, the module is loaded (usage count 0 in lsmod). When the stick is removed, the module stays loaded (usage count 0 in lsmod), and when it is re-inserted, the driver works again. When Kaffeine is started with the driver in memory, but the stick unplugged, Kaffeine senses that the device is unplugged, and does not show the DVB capability. When Kaffeine is running, and the stick is removed during that, the video freezes. Re-instering the stick does not cause the video to become live again. After re-inserting the stick, Kaffeine recognizes that it's there again, and functions again. Can anybody confirm me that this is the specified behavior and/or send me the place where I can find these specifications ? ___ linux-dvb mailing list linux-dvb@linuxtv.org http://www.linuxtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/linux-dvb

[linux-dvb] Terratec Cinergy DVB C PCI CI - CI working?
Hello everyone, I've got the Terratec Cinergy C PCI HD card with the CI extension and am currently trying to get this to work with Mythbuntu 7.10. So far, I've got a working TV signal and a more or less complete list of the Kabel Deuttschland DVB-C channels. I can even watch the free-to-air channels without any problems. The encrypted channels (of which there are legion) are another matter, though. AS I wrote above, I have the CI addon, I have a AlphaCrypt CAM capable of decoding the Cable encryption, plus I've got a keycard which actually can decode about 100 channels. But still, MythTV doesn't decode any encrypted channels - which leads me to my question: is the CI supported by Linux? As far a I can see, there is no line containing CI oder CAM in any logfile written by the linux system. Can anybody help me out here? Any help is appreciated; if you need more input, just ask and I will try to provide the info. [linux-dvb] Specification for creating a driver for the (Cinergy) CI usb, driver needed
Dear all, I searched the whole week for drivers for my Cinergy Ci USB. The Terratec support centre is not so good, they say the cinergy ci usb works on mac osx with elgato eyet3 which is not true. I have had contact with elgato and they don't know if they will ever support it. There aren't any linux drivers for the cinergy ci usb. So frustrated as I was I openend the Cinergy Ci usb and saw that the manufacturer is SmarDTV. www.smardtv.com. They are providing the specification for their hardware but they do not have any drivers on their site. I don't understand a thing of the specifications so unfortunately I can't program a driver myself. Their hardware is used in a lot of devices and is used by millions of people. I think it is a challenge to create a driver which supports a lot of other devices. Maybe someone of the linuxtv.org http://linxtv.org has the time and energy to take a look at it. You can get the specification if you fill in your email address here: http://www.smardtv.com/index.php?page=dvbcirubrique=specification, I have added the specification in the previous mail (which is a copy of this one) but it was filtered out because it's almost 2 MB. So here again a mail without the attachement. There is a chip in it of ACTEL http://www.actel.com/ ProASIC plus. Source code examples are on their site. If I can do anything else please let me know. Hopefully someone can help! Regards, Derk ___ linux-dvb mailing list linux-dvb@linuxtv.org http://www.linuxtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/linux-dvb

The firmware dvb-usb-dib0700-1.10.fw is installed. But I can not find a directory like /dev/dvb On - http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/DVB-T_USB_Devices - there is a information that Pinnacle DVB-T Stick Solo version: 72E works with a modified v4l-dvb driver.
