There are quite a lot of TV tuners which are supported under Linux. It really depends how much you want to invest, whether you want it to replace your graphics card (like ATI All in wonder), wether you want it to be a smart card (with MPEG encoding in hardware instead of software) and wether you want to have a USB solution or PCI solution. I recommend looking at hauppauge offers. They have good record with Linux support for their hardware. I've had good results with a no name card (Grandtec). I have 2 of them on Linux boxes and installation was trivial on Mandriva 2007. I use Xawtv and sometimes tvtime. Actually, I prefer the kdetv GUI, but for some reason (I don't know if it's hardware or software related), kdetv sometimes crashes my machine so I stopped using it. In any case, here's where I bought the cards for 100 shekels + shipping: http://www.getit.co.il/Group/30247/12 BTW - I also have an older Flyvideo on a third machine, but I don't think it's available any more. The Flyvideo cards use the Philips chipset I mentioned. Due to a major change in the kernel structure, there may be problems using them with out ALSA.
