Thanks for the reply, I am not sure if it is related to the TeVii. Someone could say which device is crashing? I see [dib7000p] in the call trace, maybe it could be Hauppauge Nova-TD Stick (52009) device, it use dvb_usb_dib0700 module. Thanks René, I have more TeVii devices (S470 and S660) running in other machine with no problems, just copying the firmware work out of the box. Is really necessary to compile the Tevii driver? It's sometimes just tar files or tar.gz - you have to compile the drivers so you need at least kernel headers and tools to build drivers from sources (don't know which packages for Debian) - once you have built with make and before you make install you need to remove the actual media tree from your kernel with rm -Rf /lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/drivers/media in order to have no symbols discrepencies. Re: AF9015 Dual tuner i2c write failures
2011/11/11 Tim Draper veeh...@gmail.com: Hi all, i've recently bought an AF9015 usb module from ebay, and am struggling to get it working correctly. i've been recommended to post here on the mythtv MailingList. i'm running mytbuntu 11.04 x64, and the mythbackend service shows af9013: I2C read failed reg:d607 af9015: command failed:1 and will refuse to establish a lock. so far i've only been able to find a temporary fix to this by re-inserting the USB stick (ie: it has to loose power on the USB stick) i've been googling a fair bit, and i've only found somewhat old info reguarding (firmware?) source code that is no longer available (it has been merged into another codeset), and thus the patch file is not applicable to it http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=9712937postcount=126 is what i'm working from. i am confident the device does work as if i test it immediately after being re-inserted i get both tuners working fine. after a while though i start seeing the above errors in the mythtv logs, and i am no longer able to tune into channels. just to be clear, i am sure the issue is down to a firmware/driver issue, and not a config or a problem is yet to be discovered as the last few nights of googling does show this as an issue on certain devices. how do i get this issue sorted? thanks for any help! -- To unsubscribe from this list: send the line unsubscribe linux-media in the body of a message to majord...@vger.kernel.org More majordomo info at http://vger.kernel.org/majordomo-info.html Hello Tim, Malcolm is working on a patch and it is working, maybe it is not finished but I am using it on MythTV. I was seeing I2C read fails similar to the above. The system in question has an AMD760G southbridge. After a lot of googling I came across a post somewhere which said that the USB host controller on the 760G is problematic and suggested getting a NEC or VIA hub and using this between the DVB sticks and the root hub. I bought a cheap hub with an NEC chip on and since then (6 months maybe) I've had no problems with the system. Anyway in LiveCD 10.10 I used mplayer to set up and view Tuner A and Tuner B and Tuner A only showed some slight errors when Tuner B was being set up. After that for some strange reason attempt at retuning with mplayer failed utterly so I suspect there is some problems with the older versions of mplayer. These cards have blue LEDs for each tuner and light up when in use. I did notice in my testing that the LED on tuner A would flicker off briefly (and presumably issue the errors) when Tuner B was being set up. Re: Afatech AF9013
Hello again, thanks Jason for your reply. It is interesting to ear that is not just my problem. I add the dual device on a laptop with same kernel 2.6.32. It works well, both tuners working great with no pixeled images. Two weeks ago, I must change my HTPC power supply, a 300W PFC. I had some problems when connecting a 2,5 USB drive (it use to shutdown). On the local shop they test it and there are more than 5V on the USB, so they change it. How can I test the USB? Is there any USB debug tool? I don't know how to continue with this, thanks for all your help, best regards. 2011/8/21 Jason Hecker jwhec...@gmail.com: I have a problem that may be related to the issues on this thread and it's driving me nuts. I have two dual tuner Afatech based cards, they are both Leadtek 2000DS cards, one made by Leadtek and the other branded as KWorld but they are otherwise identical in spite of different VID:PID. On each card tuner A is an AF9015 and tuner B is an AF9013. The KWorld card worked just fine for about 18 months in Mythbuntu 10.04 with the rebuilt and patched modules as described in the Wiki entry on the 2000DS. A few weeks ago tuner A started giving errors making the viewing unwatchable so figuring the card had died I bought the Leadtek. To my surprise it gave the same problem as the KWorld when using tuner A. It seems Tuner A is OK until Tuner B is used and then Tuner A gets a lot of errors. Tuner B never has errors. I did try using the latest media_build from V4L but that didn't help. So, I installed Mythbuntu 11.04 and with both cards I still get the same problem. Watching live TV with MythTV or with mplayer on tuner A gives errors and tuner B is always flawless even with media_build updates. I honestly can't recall if when the failure first occurred if I had done a routine kernel update at that time - though it would have just been the usual 2.6.32 update that is in line with 10.04 maintenance. I have tried everything imaginable to nail down the problem but can't seem to fix it. Even options dvb-usb force_pid_filter_usage=1 seems to improve the problem somewhat but the errors are still there. I have tried every firmware from 4.65 to 5.10, adjusting the PCI latency from 32 to 96, fed each card directly from the antenna (taking the splitter out of the loop), one card fitted, both cards fitted, kernel and system upgrades (Mythbuntu 10.04 to 11.04), mplayer vs MythTV but the results are always the same. Tuner B is perfect, tuner A corrupts when Tuner B is used. There are no errors or warnings in syslog or dmesg to suggest anything has failed. I'd appreciate any suggestions at this point as I am pretty unhappy with the situation considering it *used* to work. -- To unsubscribe from this list: send the line unsubscribe linux-media in the body of a message to majord...@vger.kernel.org More majordomo info at http://vger.kernel.org/majordomo-info.html -- Josu Lazkano -- To unsubscribe from this list: send the line unsubscribe linux-media in the body of a message to majord...@vger.kernel.org More majordomo info at http://vger.kernel.org/majordomo-info.html

For usb devices with usb 2.0 when tunned to a channel there is enought usb bandwith to deliver the whole transponder. With pid filters they only deliver the pids needed for the channel. The only limit is that the pid filters is limited normaly to 32 pids. May I ask how wide DVB-T streams you have? Here in Finland it is about 22 Mbit/sec and I think two such streams should be too much for one USB bus. I suspect there is some other bug in back of this. regards Antti Here the transport stream is like yours. About 4 Mbit/sec by channel, and about 5 channels by transport stream. The problem I have is that when I have the two tuners working I have a few packets lost, and I have some TS discontinuitys. With pid filters the stream is perfect. Perhaps Josu have another problem. I am certain it is the configuration of the second frontend that ripples through Afatech devices. I have only got a single AF9015 device so can't test the dual configuration. Does the same problems exist when running the second frontend solo or dual with the Windows driver? With the IT1937(aka AF9035) the second frontend appeared not to work at all in Windows in dual mode. tvboxspy Thanks Malcolm, sorry but I don't understand very good your post (my poor english). On Microsoft Windows XP the dual device works great, I can watch two different channels (different transponder). I want to know if there is an other command-line tool to test them, because it will be MythTV playback problem. The most problem is that sometimes one adapter work, then no adapter work and then both adapter work but there is no clear image (pixeled). How could I test if there is some packet drop? Re: [linux-dvb] TeVii S470 (cx23885 / ds3000) makes the machine unstable
2011/5/5 Andrew Junev a...@a-j.ru: Hello Josu, Thanks a lot for your response! What kernel version do you have? Do you see your card's MAC address in the /var/log/messages when the driver is loading? I'm not sure if it matters, but I see my old TT S-1401 cards' MAC addresses in the logs, but I don't see the MAC of S470 anywhere... Maybe it just a specific of the driver... As Igor wrote earlier, I probably need to upgrade my kernel. Well, I'm not really looking forward to do that, since it is likely to break other things for me. Fix adapter number on DVB-T AF9015
Hello everybody! I have a KWorld USB Dual DVB-T TV Stick (DVB-T 399U) and it works great. KWorld Dual DVB-T USB (399U)
Hello, I am looking for this tuner: http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/KWorld_USB_Dual_DVB-T_TV_Stick_(DVB-T_399U) I am new on GNU/Linux, I want to use it on MythTV. Can someone confirm that it works with both tuners? I read on some forums that there are crashes when both tuners are working. The linuxtv wiki is outdated. Re: setting up a tevii s660
takes long and image quality is bad and my system get's slow/freezes. With kind regards William van de Velde On 05/06/2010 01:07 AM, Tim Coote wrote: Hullo I've been struggling with this for a couple of days. I have checked archives, but missed anything useful. I've got a tevii s660 (dvbs2 via usb). It works with some limitations on windows xp (I cannot get HD signals decoded, but think that's a limitation of the software that comes on the CD). I'm trying to get this working on Linux. I've tried VMs based on fedora 12 and mythbuntu (VMWare Fusion on a MacBookPro, both based on kernel 2.6.32), using the drivers from tevii's site (www.tevii.com/support.asp). these drivers are slightly modified versions of the v4l tip - but don't appear to be modified where I've not yet managed to get the drivers working :-(. Mythbuntu seems to be closest to working. Goodness knows how tevii tested the code, but it doesn't seem to work as far as I can see. My issues could just be down to using a VM. I believe that I need to load up the modules ds3000 and dvb-usb-dw2102, + add a rule to /etc/udev/rules.d and a script to /etc/udev/scripts. I think that I must be missing quite a lot of context, tho'. When I look at the code in dw2102.c, which seems to support the s660, the bit that downloads the firmware looks broken and if I add a default clause to the switch that does the download, the s660's missed the download process. This could be why when I do get anything out of the device it looks like I'm just getting repeated bytes (the same value repeated, different values at different times, sometimes nothing). I'm finding it non-trivial working out the call sequences of the code or devising repeatable tests. Can anyone kick me off on getting this working? I'd like to at least get to the point where scandvb can tune the device. It does look like some folk have had success in the past, but probably with totally different codebase (there are posts that refer to the teviis660 module, which I cannot find). Any pointer gratefully accepted. I'll feed back any success if I can be pointed at where to drop document it. tia Tim -- To unsubscribe from this list: send the line unsubscribe linux-media in the body of a message to majord...@vger.kernel.org More majordomo info at http://vger.kernel.org/majordomo-info.html -- To unsubscribe from this list: send the line unsubscribe linux-media in the body of a message to majord...@vger.kernel.org More majordomo info at http://vger.kernel.org/majordomo-info.html -- Josu Lazkano -- To unsubscribe from this list: send the line unsubscribe linux-media in the body of a message to majord...@vger.kernel.org More majordomo info at http://vger.kernel.org/majordomo-info.html
