I have never used this tool yet, either controlaula or italc.

Default Debian installation uses ldm.
I have always found the "Shutdown" option works.
Moreover, the power button works if you installed acpid in the chroot.

Look for an icon that fits your taste under "/usr/share/icons/..." and
specify that full path in the file "kde-desktop-icons" where it says
"usbpendrive...".

You don't need it: the server transparently umounts the device every
feww seconds.
You only have to be sure that no application is accessing the device (no
open window) and it is not blinking (read/write) before pulling it out.
When you do, the icon will disappear.

Do you have "/usr/share/doc/ltspfs/examples/kde-desktop-icons"?
Just create "/etc/ltspfs/mounter.d" and put the file there.

I use Debian but the following may apply to Ubuntu...
You have to copy "/usr/share/doc/ltspfs/examples/kde-desktop-icons" to
"/etc/ltspfs/mounter.d", tha's all.
This script is useful if you don't use gnome.
I have configured "mate" to be the default desktop manager.

2012-04-09 Thread Avinash.Rao

Hi Asmo,

1) I am having an issue with pen drives on LTSP Client.
After attaching the pen drive, I am not able to see the disk appear in
the desktop or Home Folder.

But, I am able to access the pen drive in terminal /media/username/drive
How can I make the pen drive appear on the panel or home folder once it
is connected.

2) I have installed Thin Client Manager and I can see the logged in clients.
But the 'message' is not working, I don't see any message appear on the
client.

Thanks,
Avinash

Currently, I am using this version only to present the model to few
   decision makers.
I will definitely use the LTS version at the time of deployment.

You mean Ubuntu 11.10 is a development version?

Of course not officially. But there is really no need to use
anything else but those LTS versions with LTSP.
