Yes, I found it strange too, because I had installed a few versions of
Opensuse/LTSP without problems before.
So I tried Opensuse/Edu and to my surprise the same issue. I went back
to 11.4 and succeeded at once. Now I have a dual boot installation of
11.4 and 12.1 on the same machine, and 12.1 runs fine now, but I needed
the changes described. My 12-1-install was a very simple install of the
normal 64-bit DVD. I just added two repositories, principally the same
as I had before. I wonder if you did something different...
You do use the precompiled image from the LTSP-Repository?
Best regards,

Strange, I didn't encounter any problem like that. I am currently
setting up an LTSP system under Suse 12.1 64bit, and I don't remember I
switched anything like ipv6 off. The thing has been running well from
the beginning.

My problems are different, it's the bigger LTSP5 kernel which my clients
don't like. So I have 4.2 installed in parallel until I can solve this.

2012-03-28 Thread Gerhard Damerau
Jigish,
thank you for your kind advice. Disable ipv6 was the solution.
And these were the steps for me to have LTSP run on my OpenSuse 12.1 64bit:

disable ipv6 on networkusing yast
disable ipv6 on ssh. Therefore change "|AddressFamily inet" in
/etc/ssh/sshd_config||
restart sshd
|
The solution should be mentioned in the documentation. It was hard to find.

And thank to all of you for your assistance.

Exactly the same issue on openSuse Edu 12.1!

Yes, a very good piece of information.
