So I tried Opensuse/Edu and to my surprise the same issue. I went back to 11.4 and succeeded at once. Now I have a dual boot installation of 11.4 and 12.1 on the same machine, and 12.1 runs fine now, but I needed the changes described. My 12-1-install was a very simple install of the normal 64-bit DVD. I just added two repositories, principally the same as I had before. I wonder if you did something different... You do use the precompiled image from the LTSP-Repository? Best regards, Gerhard Damerau -- Better than sec? Nothing is better than sec when it comes to monitoring Big Data applications. Re: [Ltsp-discuss] Problem with Opensuse 12.1 64Bit - Solved
Strange, I didn't encounter any problem like that. I am currently setting up an LTSP system under Suse 12.1 64bit, and I don't remember I switched anything like ipv6 off. The thing has been running well from the beginning. My problems are different, it's the bigger LTSP5 kernel which my clients don't like. So I have 4.2 installed in parallel until I can solve this. Re: [Ltsp-discuss] Problem with Opensuse 12.1 64Bit - Solved
Jigish, thank you for your kind advice. Disable ipv6 was the solution. And these were the steps for me to have LTSP run on my OpenSuse 12.1 64bit: disable ipv6 on networkusing yast disable ipv6 on ssh. Therefore change "|AddressFamily inet" in /etc/ssh/sshd_config|| restart sshd | The solution should be mentioned in the documentation. It was hard to find. |http://ubuntu-tutorials.com/2008/01/12/disabling-ssh-connections-on-ipv6/| And thank to all of you for your assistance.
