That sounds very frustrating! We will release 2.2.2 soon (a matter of weeks). You might want to try that, but I'm not sure if it will help. Another thing you might consider is installing LyX 2.1.5, which might work better for you (just a guess, since 2.1.4 seems to have worked well for you), and can open 2.2.x version files. Sorry I'm not of much help. If you happen to have access to Ubuntu then I would be more useful and could help you easily get LyX running well on it. Other than that, we'll have to hope that a Windows user shows up and has an idea of what's going on. Best of luck, Scott signature.asc Description: PGP signature

Which OS are you using? I think the issues I've seen have been for Mac OS. I have not seen this myself on Ubuntu. Sorry I'm not of much help. Scott signature.asc Description: PGP signature

Hi Stephen, I'm not sure what's wrong. I just checked and the previews show up fine on Ubuntu so there might be something platform-specific going on. Hopefully there's someone around here who uses Mac that can check. Scott signature.asc Description: PGP signature
Lilypond preview
I have OS X 10.11.6 and LyX 2.2.1 with (1) Look & Feel / Display / Display graphics checked, and (2) Look & Feel / Display / Instant preview set to “On”. If I open Help / Specific Manuals / LilyPond, then after a short delay the various LilyPond insets — these are inside Preview insets, such as in section 2.3 on Previews — display themselves in the LyX window as blank regions, whereas I would have expected fragments of musical score to appear. However, when I view the corresponding PDF the music is displayed correctly, but it would be really nice for the Preview insets to work as expected in the LyX window. In case it is relevant, preview of mathematical formulae in my LyX window works correctly. Stephen Luttrell

problem with toolbars in Mac
Hi I have a Macbook Air, recently purchased. I am totally newbie, I've always used computers with windows. I have installed Lyx and MacTeX and without difficulty. But I can not fix some of the toolbars. Every time I leave fixed a toolbar (for example, the Font toolbar, or the Arrows, etc)), I close the program and go back to run and the toolbar disappears, and returns to the standard toolbar. In Windows I never had this problem. Would appreciate any help Sergio

beamer noteitem truncated (overfull)
Using beamer, noteitem (this time inside frame!), it's working, but the displays of notes, which are formatted as itemize lists, are a bit truncated on the right. Probably connected with these warnings: Overfull \hbox (6.80821pt too wide) in paragraph at lines 10--11 [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]

So if I already have a file open that I would like to open in a new window, then I would have to first close it, open a new window, and then manually open the file again, right? Daniel
