Hello edu,

congratulations! Excellent work and a very important one. Education is
so important!

Yes, congratulations!

Especially in Arabic language there are not many science/education books
(except of religious books of course). But religion is not building
bridges, repairing refrigerators etc., people do and therefore need
knowledge how to do this.

Uwe, out of curiosity, how did you learn about the Arab-speaking
countries? You seem to know so much more than I do.

You will have to change the bullet shape before your second list.

Insert in a latex inset (Ctrl-L) : \renewcommand{\labelitemi}{\(\square\)}

\renewcommand is a basic LateX command that redefines a macro. Here
\labelitemi the macro that insert the bullet for a first level bullet list.

You redefine the macro to insert a square \(\square\). It will work if you
have loaded the amssymb package in your preamble, so add this line
\usepackage{amssymb}.

Hello Edu (or whatever your name is, see my p.s.),

I don't get any error. When I compile to PDF (pdflatex) I get a PDF
without error messages.

What is your error message? Could you send us the LaTeX logfile?
Is it perhaps better if you upgrade to LyX 2.2.2?

[ANNOUNCE] LyX 2.2.2 for OSX

2016-10-17 Thread Richard Heck
Attention OSX users: The original binary package for LyX 2.2.2 on recent
OSX systems had a problem, apparently due to the Qt version used, that
caused serious problems with sub-menus. A new package was uploaded
yesterday. If you are not experiencing this kind of issue, don't worry
about it. If you are, try downloading the new package.

add 2 bullts shapes in 1 document

2016-10-17 Thread edu Gpl
Dear Paul, lyx users

please how i can add differents bullts in the same document ?
Example: in attachment files i used main documnts with bullts (shape =
dots), and child documents "exam" with bullts (shape = square), but when i
generated pdf file, i got all the bullts with ( shape = dots ) like the
attachment files.

best regards

The settings work exactly as advertised.

Please describe more precisely what you are actually trying to achieve.

You need to install biber 2.6 which is not yet packaged as far as I know for
ubuntu.

1) uninstall biber 2.5
2) download
https://sourceforge.net/projects/biblatex-biber/files/biblatex-biber/current/binaries/Linux/
3) extract it and install it as root in /usr/local/bin

Biber and biblatex issue on lyx

2016-10-17 Thread Riccardo
Hello,
I have the following configuration:

   - texlive-full (including texlive-bibtex-extra) from unofficial
   ppa:jonathonf/texlive-2016
   - biber 2.5
   - Lyx 2.2.1 from ppa:lyx-devel/release

After the last update, LyX show me a compatibility error message.

[761] Utils.pm:165> ERROR - Error: Found biblatex control file version 3.2,
expected version 3.1.

But:

   - biber version is 2.5 (system-wide, and no other versions present
   anywhere)
   - documentations suggest biblatex 3.4. The .bcf file in the folder has
   the following header:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/biblatex;>

Can you help me fix this? The bibliography of my document results now in an
empty page. I'm asking here since my system appears to have the correct
packages. For completeness, I "Reconfigured" lyx just after the package
update.
Riccardo

It would be easier to help you if you would give such important
information right from the beginning (or even better, provide a minimal
example file). The toc is not an itemize list.

Try
\setbeamertemplate{section in toc}[circle]
\setbeamertemplate{subsection in toc}[ball]

If this does not what you want, please provide a minimal example lyx
file.
